View 12 RepliesI have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I hope it's a bit clear what I want o_0. don't know where to start.

View 3 RepliesI have a swf embedded into a site, and I want the swf to be clickable so when you click on it it goes to another page. I tried wrapping the whole flash object in tags, and that makes it clickable but the biggest problem I'm having is when you roll over it with the mouse the pointer icon doesn't come up, it just looks like the regular arrow. I tried playing with the css and doing cursor:pointer, but it still doesn't work. I can edit the .fla file and add some actionscript 2.0 to it, but I'm not sure what to add or where. I'd rather do it through html or css, but if I have to do it in flash that's ok too. Also, I have an invisible button over the whole thing called, MYbtn

Basically, I am trying to use a service that returns xml and return an Object regardless of the structure of the xml. In .Net I use the XmlSerializer.Deserialize class... is there equivalent in AS?
I was able to find SimpleXMLDecoder but I can't seem to get it to work - it also looks like it might only work with nodes? Either way, the examples out there are sparse and hard to follow, I just want to know how to take xml like this:

DebuggerMonitor.trackVar(variable).
My question is, is there any way I can turn "variable" itself (the name, not the value) into a String to be added into a text field?

I am trying to condense my code so i can use only one IF statement to change audio clips for multiple button rollovers. When rolloving over button 1 for example, i made a string variable (mySoundString) appear that is mySound1(this is the name of the audio file i want to play). However, i cant do the command mySoundString.play(); because it is a string. How do i turn the string into a new sound.

I know how to do this and it semed to work fine. STEP2: When the JPEG is loaded I would like the substituted Text to Fade In over the JPEG. The JPEG should also fade in before the Text. I'm using an online service (heyzap.com if anyone wanted to know) for storing small amounts of data from my Flash app. The data is sent to the server as an object, which can contain any kind of structure including arrays, numbers, strings etc. However, when the object is returned back to the app, for some reason, it has been turned into a string representation of the object. I don't think it should be like that - but it is. So if I create a textbox on screen and write the code:

I don't know if an engine is made in AS3, PHP, Javascript, or whatever,I made my game already, it's just that it isn'tmultiplayer yet. Basically, there are lines, and each player crosses out a number of lines, and the last player to cross out a line is the loser. I want it where one user crosses out some lines, then presses End Turn, then the other does their turn and then presses End Turn to allow the other player to move his cursor. But how can I get both players to see the same frame and only have one player have the ability to move the cursor during a turn? Is there some easily adaptable multiplayer engine for flash for newbies out there

This Strings are set as the text value in a spark TextArea. What I'd like to achieve is that
A. the text gets highlighted and
B. the user can click it and it opens in the systems browser.
Using the StyleableTextField throws a typerror on Flex 4.6. I tried the simplest HTML text like this:

The page is for wedding videography, and came with a Videos section. However, I do not like the template video player, and would like to have the Videos link on the menu bar go straight to my youtube channel rather than to the flash player. Primarily all changes to the template have been made in a text.txt file, rather than the flash file itself.
