ActionScript 3.0 :: Duplicate A MovieClip And Keep Absolutely Everything Inside The Clip Intact?
Oct 7, 2009I'm having an issue with duplicating movie clips in actionscript 3.The code I'm using is:

Where screenTemp is the class i set under the movie clips:
properties->export for actionscript
The object is successfully added to the stage, however it is loosing all of the actionscript and 3d rotation that i have set up in the original movie clip.How do i duplicate a MovieClip and keep absolutely everything inside the clip intact?
CS3 - Make Background Flash Background Transparent In Dreamweaver?
Apr 10, 2009I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
ActionScript 3.0 :: Make Video Stop Video When Leaving A Frame?
May 11, 2010I know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:

May 21, 2010I have a flash header that was never completed because the guy I hired took people's money and ran. So now I even wonder if what he said could work with my flash header is true or not. But, usually there is always a way to make it work.I have a flash header that does two important things: 1) Upon entering the site, it loads and plays an audio track 2) Makes an animal noise when you hover over each animal menu item. I want to know if my flash header can support the following additional functionality/changes:
1) Currently, it loads everytime a page is selected. I only want it to load the one time of entering the site because the audio gets annoying. Set a cookie maybe?
2) But, I do not want to turn the audio off completely because I still want the hover over each menu item sound.
3) Have a link on it to allow them to select to turn on / off the sound completely. It currently has that, but only for the current page. Once you select another page, the audio is back to on.
4) Lastlly, is there a way for it to detect that someone doesn't support flash and to display an html version of it? And can flash create a html version from my fla file?
I don't know much about flash (but am learning) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this myself. However, I want to find out if my flash header will even work this way before I invest the time learning it just for these changes. I know it will be pretty deep with script code, but I'm hoping I could find base code already available for these features. Not sure I can afford help now because of being laid off and two different scammers taking advantage of me. So I'm going to try to do myself and see if there is any suggestions/support on here that can help. I have Flash CS4.

Nov 11, 2009When I addChild(<external swf - p2>), I also want to removeChild(<swf that loaded it - p1>). I can't seem to make that work. In p1, I've tried removeChild(this) or removeChild(this.parent), but I get Error #2025: The supplied DisplayObject must be a child of the caller. If I try stage.removeChild(this), it removes everything and I get a grey screen. If I try MovieClip(parent).removeChild(this) I get Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::Stage@1cd94461 to MovieClip.
In p2, I don't know how to reference it properly because when I trace(this), I get Object MainTimeline and when I trace(this.parent), I get Object Loader. If I try stage.removeChild(this.parent), I get Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at allproducts_fla::MainTimeline/frame1().

In my assignment I've created a simple rocket, each part with it's corresponding layer. Now I need to go back in and fill the body in a light gray color. I did so successfully with the nose cone. How To Make A Background Transparent
Jun 9, 2009A friend and I are working on a Flash game. He is programming it and needs the different character animations in SWF form. The problem is when he places them in-game, they are surrounded by the white block that was behind the character animation.
How do you make the background of the SWF/flash file transparent so they white block will no longer be visible. I know how to do it in HTML for the web, but this must be different.
