View 1 RepliesAnyone willing to show me how (or point me in the right direction) to create a flying/floating camera style motion which follows a particular path (defined by actionscript). perhaps this example storyboard can help to explain further - the darker grey areas are the "stage" or atleast what is shown to the user. - the lighter grey areas are the "stage" in motion (along the path) - the bezier curved line is the path which the "stage" travels along from point A to point B would is be at all possible to control this with AS?

View 11 Repliesim making a platform game at the moment and i need for the screen to follow the character, at the moment i've got the code on the background symbol and all the baddies in that symbol so when you press the arrow key the symbol moves to the side the code i have on this is

View 6 RepliesI am capturing camera on flex for android using air 3.1,and found that the camera is only showing the a part of of actual camera video.When i view camera using normal camera application in android galaxy tab, it shows full camera area but when i am capturing the camera in flex its showing only the center area for it.I tried using setMode to set the resolution, but its not of any use.Is there any way to get full camera area captured inside flex using camera.getCamera ?
View 1 RepliesFrom a Flash object, I would like to be able to detect the presence of a webcam that the user might grant access to, without actually asking the user whether they want to grant access. This is to streamline a large application that has extra features if a webcam exists — if there is a webcam, the application will present several dialogs that lead up to the normal cam-security prompt, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, I want to skip over them altogether. Requesting access to the cam before those dialogs won't make sense to the user.
It appears not to be possible to call Camera.getCamera() without the security prompt happening. Is there a workaround? (For instance, could I, perhaps, call getCamera in a hidden Flash object and inspect its return value, or does it block until the user acknowledges the security prompt?)
how to make the camera follow my hero (mc), I think the problems involve me using the mouse to move my player instead of the keyboard. This is my code:

To do this i obviously need to make the camera follow my character. The problem is; i simply don't know how. I have yet to find a CS5 compatible solution with my less than good google skills, and so here I am.
View 6 RepliesI have a video capture device on a machine. I have written a windows application to capture the video from this device. While capturing, if i try to broadcast using flash it does not connect. If i'm already broadcasting and then try to capture then my windows application does not get the capture pin of the device. So, flash seems to be taking the capture pin. Is there anyway to broadcast using the preview pin on the device so that i can capture using my application. Or is there way where i can split the capture pin and give one to my app and one to the broadcaster

View 3 RepliesI am making an application, that will let you enter your name and then a car will drive each letter of your name in the sand. I have made a car and my artist made letters with vector graphics as a single line (.ai). But now I don't get how to make an algorithm that will drive through the lines of each letter. My first solution would be to make an editor, where you can create path, but I don't have that much time. Is there a chane to make path from vector graphics so that the care can drive through it?

View 5 RepliesI'm trying to get this xml 'image_loader' (similar to kde wipes) rotation thing working for this page i'm working on. i have to make some adjustments with the path to the files according to how it is going to work on this site i'm working on. i'm not sure how or where to change the path in the actionscript to get to the path.
i've included a folder called '- example working without paths' which is to show how it is supposed to look. this works when everything is in one folder. but, when i setup the site structure the swf can't find the xml or the images to load...so i'm not really sure how to fix it. the 'root.hml' in the root folder represents the main html file that i'm using for the site.

1. The hero is in the shelter.
2. The hero is hungry.
3. The hero leaves the base to hunt some animals down.
4. The hero is full and is headed back to the shelter.
5. He moves in the direction of where the base is.
So, once again, how do I make my hero go back to where he came from? How do I make my hero's x and y position to fit the way back home?
how to make a simple ball follow an oval motion path? Think of a molecule spinning (and looping) around a nucleus. This was five seconds work in previous versions where you could draw the motion guide then simply attach an object to it and say "orient to path" but I can't seem to find how to do it in CS4.

The problem is that I know that writing in and filling in EVERY FRAME going all along for EVERY CHOICE PATH would be an insanely tedious amount of work. My basic project is reminiscent of japanese visual novels, and I've been looking for turtorials to help me with this style of role playing games, but all of the tutorials concentrated on the adventure RPGs. : Being a novice at Actionscript, past working buttons to make it go to the next frame and stopping it, I was wondering if its possible to make a choice you make earlier in the game affect it later. Such as, you keep following the game normally afterwards, but depending on your choice you'll go to a different scene later. basically, this way I'd like to eliminate the need to make two duplicate paths with only minor variances to show the changes for some choices. Another thing that I would like to know if its possible to do, though this is less important, as I have yet to look for these things and I'm sure I can find them but a save/load system, easy to find I'm sure. And an unlocking system. Something so that once they hit a certain CG I can unlock it in a 'memories' menu on a main screen.

As the topic indicates, i'm trying to create a curved path and make a movieclip follow that path up and down with a bit of rotation.
This could easily be done animating the timeline, however I need this to be done through pure AS - as when I mouseOver the MC, the MC need to stop and go to the top. [url]...
how to make a counter clockwise circle using Senocular's Path class?
For example, if I start a half-circle on the left (9 o'clock) it will go to 6 o'clock then 3 o'clock. Right now it goes for 9 o'clock to 12 then 3.
Works great clockwise... but I can't get it to draw in the other direction. I tried messing with the math inside the class and it exploded!
