Is it possible to draw motion guide/path for a mouse position based movement?

For example if I have path the is like letter H. I would need to write many clauses/conditions for the borders of the movement. It would be a LOT easier if there would be some solution that makes the object always to stay on the defined path when moving..

Flash :: Mxmlc Compiler - Source-path Preferred Over Library-path?

Nov 9, 2011

the same class is passed to the mxmlc compiler in SWF library as a symbol linkage class and again in a source-path. But the compiler uses the definition from the source-path so creating new instance of that class won't create new instance of the library symbol. How do I tell the compiler to prefer the definition linked to the symbol (the one dfrom SWC)?

I have my design assets in an FLA file and they are linked to classes (e.g. [URL]. Then I export those assets to a SWC library and pass it to the compiler. Now when I create an instance of the class (new MyAsset();) it will be a new instance of the library object.

But there are other classes too in the source folder (e.g. "com.myproject.model.*" so I need to pass the source folder to the compiler too. And that is the problem, now the compiler will use the MyAsset.as definition from the source path, not from the SWC where it is assigned to the library object so if I create new instance of MyAsset now it won't duplicate the library object.

square.graphics.lineStyle(4);
square.graphics.drawRect(100, 100, 100, 100);

Flex :: Debugging - I Added Class Directory Via Flex Build Path/Source Path, And Now 'building Workspace' Takes Forever

Apr 3, 2012

I am coming from flash to flashbuilder I have a directory, AS3_classes_dir, on my computer that stores all of my classes, including my greensock and papervision packages. In every flash app that I make I include that directory in the Source Path, so that I can import whatever I may need. Compiling in flash (using ctrl/enter) takes very little time; only the classes that are specifically imported are compiled.So today I did that in flashbuilder, included AS3_classes_dir via Flex Build Path/Source Path ... but now the compile time are a couple of minutes, even though I am not even importing ANY of the classes from within.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Movie Clips To Follow Path?

Oct 25, 2009

I am working on a circular gallery 6 images/movie clips and two buttons. I would like to have these images move around a circular path, clockwise when the right button is hit and counter clockwise when the left one is hit. I am just learning action script so my understanding of it is extremely basic. I don't necessarily need all the code just conceptualize how this would be done. I don't want to use the time line (if that's not possible just let me know).The only things I can think of would be to have the images move on a path or painfully swap out the buttons for new ones that look exactly the same but move different clips for each scenario.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Make An Object To Follow A Specific Path?

make my hero go back to his shelter when he finds some food or when he approaches an enemy. It looks like this:

1. The hero is in the shelter.
2. The hero is hungry.
3. The hero leaves the base to hunt some animals down.
4. The hero is full and is headed back to the shelter.
5. He moves in the direction of where the base is.

So, once again, how do I make my hero go back to where he came from? How do I make my hero's x and y position to fit the way back home?

ActionScript 3.0 :: StartDrag To Path - Passing Custom Drawn Shape Like Curve

Nov 19, 2009

I am currently looking to see what the bounding are for the start drag method. And by the looks of it the bounding is set by passing the rect() object to the dragUpdater/ constructor. My question then is can you pass a custom drawn shape like a curve or what ever? By the looks of it you can not as specified by the adobe reference doc.
startDrag()method
public function startDrag(lockCenter:Boolean = false, bounds:Rectangle = null):void
So from this I would conclude that to have a custom drag path one would have to create a custom class.
