ActionScript 3.0 :: Making A Buton Go To A Url When Clicked
Dec 1, 2010
so i have a home page thing. all the buttlons fly in and such all i need is so when a mouse hovers over a button it lights up or the brightness increases and when you remove the mouse from the button it goes back to normal
I am trying to make an interactive slideshow. I have nine pictures thumbnail size and I want it so that when you click on one of them they will grow, then when you click again it will shrink.
In CS5, I want to have a frame with buttons that when clicked, reveal different graphic symbols or movie clips (I'm not sure what to use?). The symbols will reveal text information and graphics, and might fade in when clicked, though will not move or do anything else.
1. Is it better to make these text and graphcis into movie clips or graphic symbols?
2. How do they get hidden on the stage until a user clicks on a button to reveal it?
3. Using Code snippets, which option will make this work?
I am trying to make my buttons do this (<-- Link). What I can't figure out is how to make the button stay red after the user clicks it and then go back to white when the user click on another button. Here is my file (<-- Link) so far. and here is my Code:
I made a drop down menu based on xml file and some simple summation after each click of the item. This drop down menu code is based on the xml driven menu. What I need is how to make every item can only be clicked once, so once clicked, it should not be able to be clicked any more.
I have a website with a very simple code that gives all the buttons in the menu an animated rollover and rollout state. When the buttons are clicked, I have a movie clip with all the content which goes to a specific frame label depending on which button is clicked. Very simple, no problems there. But what I can't figure out how to do, is to add a variable so that when each button is clicked, it stays in the over state until another button is clicked (at which point I'd like it to go to the out state, while the new button would go to the over state.)I found several examples of codes that do this, but I can't figure out how to modify them so that when a button is clicked, it also goes to a specific frame label in the content movie clip, so that the content for each section can be displayed the same way is in the original version.[code]
I am trying to controll my movieclip with my buttons in Actionscript 2. I have a loop in my movieclip, it goes frame 1-20 over and over again. I want the button to move it to frame 21 and play it onwards from there. How do I do this?
i have 4 butones made on flash.,now i have a customize pointer also,that drugs on my movie,and now i want to do when i pass with my pointer on rollover at the butones,to change my hand pointer into the one that ihave made_ movie hand pointer. wich are the actions that i have to give? i have this code with as 3.0 until now.this code is only for my pointer mouse that i have. Mouse.hide(); pointer_mc.startDrag("true"); Mouse.hide(); pointer_mc.startDrag(true); this.onMouseMove = function () { if (_xmouse < 4 || _ymouse < 4 || _xmouse > Stage.width - 4 || _ymouse > Stage.height - 5) { pointer_mc._alpha = 0; } else { pointer_mc._alpha = 100; } // end else if }; whats the code that i have to give for the movie handpointer_mc to work when i rollover a buton to show mine,and not the browser one white.

I am working on an iMAC running 10.6, and Flash CS5. I created a flash file with a list button ( with 10 inner sellections) on the main page. Each sellection within the list button loads a separate movie file from the library. Everything works great unitl Iinsert the Home button. If I install the home buton the main page, the list button does not work. If I install the home button in a movie, I don't know how to write the action script to go back to the main page, and I woul have to install a home button into each movie.
so i need to make a flash that will do the next things.if user press button "x" on the next frame should display "x" text from a xml.if user press button "y" on the next frame should display "y" text from a xml.
I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. I want this solution in AS3 with oop concept.
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
I have parent movieclip and in that many different children movieclips
What i want to do is when i CLICK, i want to detect which movieclip it has clicked and call corresponding function (defined by onpress event) of that movieclip.
What does the code look like if I want the user to click two specific buttons then go to a new frame. I've been trying different methods, but I am honestly not brilliant with conditional statements. This is what I've got so far...
about_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickAbout); home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickMain); if (function clickMain(event) && function clickAbout(event))
I haven't been able to find a solution that fits my project. I am working on a 50 state map, where I need each state to stay down once clicked, but go up when any other state is clicked. [code]...
For a project, I'm making an interactive side scroller.You move the character with the arrow keys and press the space bar to interact with things.So far, I followed DexNote's tutorial on YouTube.I thought that I would make the interactable objects as buttons, while the mouse focus would be on the character and when you press the space bar it make a mouse click in that area.The trouble I'm having now is that I don't know how to make the space bar trigger the "interactions."
I want to generate large text files, basically 4 columns, several thousand rows, of numbers. Making an array with all this info in it occurs farily quickly, it's getting it to a displayable format that takes a really long time. Right now I use something like this:
I have a flash file from istockphoto that I purchased. It is of the US. When you mouse over a state it is highlighted. I want it to take you to a web page when you click the state. I have bee trying to get it to do that, but I am very lost on how to make that happen.[url]...
I have many movieclips on stage, let's say 100.Rather than setting onRelease or OnPress function for each one, is there any way of looping through all the movie clips (maybe if they were called MC1 MC2 MC3 MC4 etc etc), using an array, to see which one was pressed and then say what should happen if so and so MC was pressed.
Depending on which MC is pressed a variable will be a different number... e.g. MC1 pressed means variableA = 1, MC1 pressed means variableA = 2, MC1 pressed means variableA = 3 etc
I just thought there would be a more intelligent solution than writing out this 100's of times: MC[numberOfMC].onPress = function() { do something };
This is just ridiculous! I just saw another video on this site preaching the gospel of AS3.Look, Im sure it's great in many ways that I dont appreciate or understand but come on! Would it be too much to ask that if I am in 'designer' mode, I could say, right-click on a button and add a URL to it when clicked?? Now I have to write a function to achieve this???
I think Flash needs to be broken into parts that cater to both designers and developers.Not all of us that faithfully buy Adobe products have in house development teams to do our bidding.
i am trying to make a photo gallery so when people click on a thumbnail it expands to full screen, my problem is i have lots of pictures and i want to determine which one has been clicked. i thought i would use the e.target in a simple if statement like this:
[Code].....
in this picture one and two are both on the stage with instance names of picture and picture2.
I have a simple question for someone --Im very new at Flash. I have a box and 3 different colored buttons at the left. When a person clicks the red button the box turns red, green button turns the box green, etc. My question is I would like the text color of the box to appear under the box according to what button they press. Here is my code to turn the box red. What line would i add to have the word Red show up under the box when the red button is clicked. Do I type the word Red and make it a movie clip? Then what?
I have a bitmap with a different bitmapData on it (done through copyPixel) and I was wondering whether there is built in function that can determine what BitmapData the user is clicking on? how to best figure out which BitmapData is clicked, or do I have to do x,y pos comparisons manually?
I've got music player and one of the controls is a movieclip which acts as a PLAY and PAUSE button. What I would like is to swap the image of this movieclip everytime it's clicked. How would I go about doing this? Here's my code...
All is working exactly as it should but when you click on the submit_mc it's look remains the same whether the mouse is up, down or over. It works and sends the email to the named email address but if I was a new user to this form - I would probably click and click and click - not knowing if the message actually went as we are all use to seeing the button area change shape and color when clicked (looks like you are depressing the button)
I can skin the submit_mc but that only changes it's color/shape, it does not change up, down or over interaction with the mouse.
I have created a box with 5 buttons with their corroesponding color names beneath them at the left. When you click on a button it will change the box to that color. How do i get the color name that is clicked to show up under the box?
