Mar 24, 2011Let's say we create a button that when clicked should open browser window and go to google.com page. When you run your flash program in Flash Builder (with CTRL + ENTER command) it works just fine, but when you run the swf file alone (mouse double click) the web page won't open.
Here is the code, just paste it into frame 1 and see for yourself (let me know if this problem doesn't occur for you, it might be something with my Flash Builder CS4 settings...)[code]...

Nov 25, 2010I have an html website that displays still photographs contained in a swf built in flash. I refer in particular to the images in the rectangle window on the right. [URL]As you can see the swf starts with a % preloader. The images are fairly high resolution, 14 in total (each embedded into movie clips and not dynamically loaded)I just wish to know if there is a way of SPEEDING up the time it takes for the swf to load and open in the web page, to aid users with a slower connection.I understand that if my host server is reaonably fast (which I believe it is) then the problem lies with the users connection speed, but IS THERE ANY ADD ON ACCELERATOR or CODING I can apply from my side of things ?

Feb 15, 2010I have an movie for site for a customer. Within the movie are thumbnails of images. We need to get these thumbnails to open in a light box when clicked. The customers site already uses lightbox (jquery) extensively and they have sent us all the files. To make the image open in a light box you just make it a link and give it a class.
This makes me think that I will need to import some css into flash to give the links the necessary styling. However, I suspect that there is rather a lot more going on with the jquery files than that! What I would need to do in order to make this work? Would I be better of just using flash to re-create the effect. In order to set the lb up for html you just do this in the header:

Jan 23, 2004on the attached fla I have an "invisible" button (button with 0 alpha). I copied a script from the tutes section that will allow me to open a new window when the button is clicked (another rip from a forum question). This works OK, but I also have a MC below the button layer and this MC has some AS attached to it which basically makes it fade out to the image on the bottom layer.
It seems to me that the button script makes the MC script stop working because it's above the MC layer (I've switched the button layer below the MC layer and the fade out then works, but the button doesn't ). How can I get both scripts working together? I know that MC's can't work like buttons, but is there a work around this?

Mar 19, 2010I am testing a FLASH animation ad that has links to a website.When I click on the links, it opens firefox but it doesn't go to the link!I have added the links and the file names in the Adobe Flash Settings Manager, restarted several times, restarted in Safe Mode and it still does not work!I cannot find any information on this. My coworker also tried it and it does not work for him on IE on Windows.HOWEVER, If I have SAFARI open it works fine, and If I drag and drop the .swf file into either browser and then click on the links it goes to the web page.

Feb 7, 2007I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
