ActionScript 3.0 :: Getting Thumbnails To Open In Lightbox When Clicked?
Feb 15, 2010
I have an movie for site for a customer. Within the movie are thumbnails of images. We need to get these thumbnails to open in a light box when clicked. The customers site already uses lightbox (jquery) extensively and they have sent us all the files. To make the image open in a light box you just make it a link and give it a class.
This makes me think that I will need to import some css into flash to give the links the necessary styling. However, I suspect that there is rather a lot more going on with the jquery files than that! What I would need to do in order to make this work? Would I be better of just using flash to re-create the effect. In order to set the lb up for html you just do this in the header:
I Managed to insert a photo gallery using lightbox...however, would like to make some changes: 1. Fixed previous and next buttons, been playing around with the code, with no successful result. 2. I have a group of photos, and if I want to enlarge the one I click, I cannot. Whatever photo I click, always the first one of the group appears.
This is the code I have in my html file: HTML Code: <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <script src="js/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/lightbox.js" type="text/javascript"></script> [Code].....
I have a xml gallery at the moment which loads in thumbnails and displays the larger images when clicked. What I am having trouble with is that some of the thumbnails have their own multiple images (more than 1 image for that thumbnail). I want to have a numbered menu 1,2,3,4 and when I click on the thumbnail depending how many sub photos there are for that one thumbnail I want to display an that image. And just to be dificult I also am displaying the larger images in another swf on the same page using local connection.
i want each image that opens up from the scrolling thumbnails below to have another set buttons relating to the main image. for instance:
[Code]...
numbers = buttons linked to another set of external images that are related to the big image. the problem is i don't know what controls the thumbnail/main image when i click on the scroller (i'm kinda lost in the code). so right now i have only one set of numbers regardless of which big image opens up.
Via a PHP script content coming from a mysql database is loaded in to Flash. Im using the following script to reach that:
[Code]....
What i try to reach is to open a certain detail page when one of the loaded thumbnails is pressed or released see the t.onRelease = function(){ But that isn't working. Both detail pages are opening up automaticaly. What am i doing wrong.
i,m developing a HTML site and used one animated flash button(AS2) I want a small sized window to open when a user clicks on a button. The window will contain information that i want to display.It dosnt require a normal 800x600 window to open. I just want a 1/4 size of 800x600 etc.
on the attached fla I have an "invisible" button (button with 0 alpha). I copied a script from the tutes section that will allow me to open a new window when the button is clicked (another rip from a forum question). This works OK, but I also have a MC below the button layer and this MC has some AS attached to it which basically makes it fade out to the image on the bottom layer.
It seems to me that the button script makes the MC script stop working because it's above the MC layer (I've switched the button layer below the MC layer and the fade out then works, but the button doesn't ). How can I get both scripts working together? I know that MC's can't work like buttons, but is there a work around this?
I'm sorry to have to ask this as I know there are many tutorials out there on how to do this, but using as2 how can I open a new browser window when a button is clicked, that is sized to specific dimensions? The reason I ask is because every bit of code I tried to use did absolutely nothing, when I clicked on the button nothing happened. This is the code I'm trying to use at the moment
Code: getURL ("javascript:NewWindow=window.open('master.html','Title','width=1024,height=614,left=0,top=0,toolbar=No,location=No,scrollbars=No,status=No,resizable=No,fullscreen=No'); NewWindow.focus(); void(0);"); I'm using flash CS4, flash player 10 and actionscript 2
Im guessing this is linked to actionscript,Ive made 2 buttons, One named Home, And another Exit,When home is clicked i want it to open a certain scene in this case called S Home,And when exit is clicked i want it to open the scene S Exit,How to do this?I will explain my problem more if needed,You could maybe call this linking a button,Only it opens a new scene rather than .html or an website
how to make the individual icons open separate menu once clicked in the way the iPhone does i know i would have to use an eventListener and basic tweening to make the new screens appear in the iphone like way but i just don't know how i would use this:
import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; var sliderBind:Rectangle = new Rectangle(2.25, 1.20, 174, 0); homeScreenInterface_mc.visible = false;
if i wanted a flash button when clicked on to open a html page in a i-frame how would this be done? what would the script be for this particulare action?
I am testing a FLASH animation ad that has links to a website.When I click on the links, it opens firefox but it doesn't go to the link!I have added the links and the file names in the Adobe Flash Settings Manager, restarted several times, restarted in Safe Mode and it still does not work!I cannot find any information on this. My coworker also tried it and it does not work for him on IE on Windows.HOWEVER, If I have SAFARI open it works fine, and If I drag and drop the .swf file into either browser and then click on the links it goes to the web page.
I want to make a button, when clicked, open a blank email in outlook express to an email, with a subject.i take it you would use:[code] just wanted to show you what i meant! that was just a random stab.
I am a super noob at actionscript. And I want my button to open a movieclip and then close the movieclip when clicked on again. I have no idea what to add after that here is the code I have for the button so far.....this button opens it.
on(release){ this.linemc5.gotoAndPlay("ear"); }
and this is another button I made that can close it, but I want it to be in the same button rather than seperate.
Haven't been here for a while and I'm really rusty using Flash. I looking for a tutorial or some information on how to scroll thumbnails by scrolling the mouse left or right over the thumbnails.
I used the tutorial "Adding Thumbnails" to build a fotoshow. Adding another xml-file I have the problem,that I cannot reload(?) the thumbnails correctly.[code]Then I do not see any thumbnails,if(!) the new thumbnail list contains fewer elements than the old one and if the old thumbnail list was scrolled over the hit_right field before.It is seemingly necessary to reset the internal state of the movieclip. But how can I accompish that?
I've got a website with three links to three different thumbnail galleries. When I click the link to a gallery that has a lesser number of thumbnails, it fills the difference in numbers in with thumbnails from the previous gallery.
I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. I want this solution in AS3 with oop concept.
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
I have parent movieclip and in that many different children movieclips
What i want to do is when i CLICK, i want to detect which movieclip it has clicked and call corresponding function (defined by onpress event) of that movieclip.
What does the code look like if I want the user to click two specific buttons then go to a new frame. I've been trying different methods, but I am honestly not brilliant with conditional statements. This is what I've got so far...
about_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickAbout); home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickMain); if (function clickMain(event) && function clickAbout(event))
I have a flash template that I added a flash and xml driven component to. The component is a carousel menu with a lightbox that displays images. The lightbox part of it keeps loading behind my flash page, no matter what I set the z-index to on the lightbox.css. Is there a way to control the z-index of the flash file in the website's style.css? I tried adding it to the Body of the css but that doesn't work. How do I target the swf? I've never used css before. How to get it to load the lightbox above the flash.
I haven't been able to find a solution that fits my project. I am working on a 50 state map, where I need each state to stay down once clicked, but go up when any other state is clicked. [code]...
This is driving me nuts, I've been messing about with this now for hours I must have been on every flash forum and blog to try to find the answer.
I've been using Lightbox with AS2, works a treat in all modern browsers, my latest project is using AS3, so I'm using the external call reference, my code is at the bottom of this post.
This works fine in Safari and Firefox but it just won't work in IE 6 and 7, I just get an error on page in the browser status bar.
Like I said I have looked into this and some people seem to be getting Flash to call a function in the HTML like this
<script language="JavaScript"> function SWFDelegate(url,width,height,caption) { var objLink = document.createElement('a');
[Code]....
I've used both methods, I can get both to work but neither of then in IE, in AS2 just a simple getURL works, does anyone know why??
I'm getting to the point where I might just load in the section of the page as an AS2 file but I really don't like to bodge things like this.
I am currently building a flash site and want to incorporate a js lightbox to display artwork overtop the pages. From what I have read, the only way to allow content over flash is to set wmode = opaque or transparent. And that creates nothing but problems, particularly in Firefox. Is there anyway to use an application like a js lightbox and have it appear over flash without traveling into the "buggy" world of wmode?
