Well after 3 years I'm finally ready to move onto a new project....my plan is to make an auction site but with a flash twist....well not really a twist been done a thousand times the plan is to rotate each sale object 360 degrees..... anybody have any tips on how i should accomplish this in flash? my intial anaylisis in my head tells me to take multiple pictures then user frames in flash to rotate them.

I'm using Adobe Flash CS 4 and would like to know are there any profiler or memory analysis tools available for it ? (actionscript 3). I know there are available tools for Flex, but are there for Flash CS 4 instead?

I have been goggling a lot to find anything with link-based data visualization in Flex 4. something like below screen shoot (made using Ravis). Where user can drag these nodes, without removing the links and on double click of any node we can set some properties for that particular node. I found this Ravis (Birdeye), but not much of examples and support is available for that.
I am having some dificulty making a path for this enemy i'm trying to create... cause i want him to rotate + move, then stop, then shoot, then rotate back and move off screen... Its easier if you see it.. you can download the swf file in the zipped archive to demonstrate what i mean. I did it there with tweens. I'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
im having some dificulties in the combobox of Flex 3, after defining the dataProvider and filling the combobox, how can i remove the items in the combobox later (without removing items in the dataprovider)? if i set the provider to "" or null, the items in the combobox are still there
how to get my CollectionEvent to work, and I seem to be able to see the problem, but I am not sure how to get it to work properly.
In my actionscript, it seems to only tell that event.items.length is 1, while I am calling my array collection from the HTTPService, and I have tested the length of my Array Collection, which seems to be accurate. What I tried to do is to use that number in the CollectionEvent function, but that does not work at all.

I have placed TextFileds inside TileList Compontent. When i try to select the TextField it can't show the selected Textfield in the TileList items by default the TileList items are selected.Finally i need to select the TextFields.

I'm working on an e-greeting card. I want to transition the point of view from the top (aerial) view of a gift box to the side profile view of the gift and zoom out simultaneously. Similar in effect to changing a camera angle from top and zoomed in to low angle and zoomed out. Can somebody point me in the right direction to create the object and make the 3D rotation?
I'm trying to create some animations, I put some text in it, but when I tried to rotate the text within the animation, it doesn't work. The text stands inside the animation only when the animation is in its original form, and while it's rotating the text is gone

Ok, in the "fla", you will see a circle who rotates versus mouse movement (I would like to make a delay rotation for a smooth feelling when mouse is moving, those like "_x += (_xmouse/5)" but with rotation. Other thing I would like to do,is... that the movement stops progressively a few degrees before the mouse reach de cian angles(a1,a2), and then, the circles doesn't move if the mouse is moving under those angles, like a... an inactive area(U1), and if it could work with instances.

The problem I have is that when the the right button (mc_rightBtn) is clicked again, the rotation starts from the original position. Ideally I would like the rotation to continue from its current position.

How can I write a script so that the mouse location in relation to the y-axis of a specific MC will trigger something?
I'm using Flash CS4 and AS3 and trying to get this cube to look as though it's actually in 3D space. [URL]. I know that because it's really two dimensional I'm dealing with the panels being on set layers and I need them to dynamically figure out what panel should be brought to the front. I don't really even know how to tackle this... Is there code I can use to get it to constantly check what should be on top? How would it even test this?
i have one display Container with textfield.When I rotate my displayContainer , my textField disappear. Is there any solution so that my textField cold rotate ?
I'm trying to get three images to rotate around each other. two objects in the background one in the foreground. They will change scale as the one object comes forward and the other comes back. I put each object(movieclip) on a seperate layer, and created motion tweens for each one (scaling and position.), I tried to use the setchildindex command to get them to move positions at certain keyframes, but when I added the set index command on one MC ( just on the first frame), and that movieclip stops, but the others play.Added it to the other two the animation stops entirely.
Can you use this command on a manual motion tween? or will I need to build it with tweens in AS3?
I'm trying to do something that I thought was standard/easy in flash. I would like to rotate photos on my Dreamweaver website homepage (dissolve from one photo the next) - like a slideshow. How do I do this and then incorporate into Dreamweaver?
Is it using Flash animation, or Flash slideshow/photo gallery? Can I embed that right into my homepage?
