ActionScript 3.0 :: Setup A MP3 Player - Buttons Are Not Working Properly?

my goal is to set up an MP3 player, yes I know there are plenty of tuts some may say, however I'm trying to get, what I would call "fancy", with the buttons.The object is for my play btn to toggle to the pause btn and back all with roll over animation.So far I successfully toggled between the play btn and pause btn.The play btn has roll over animation and the pause btn has animation as well. The problem is that when I click the play btn and toggle the pause btn the pause btn goes back to the play btn when I want it to stay on the pause btn, but the roll over animation seems to cancel the toggle so when I roll off of the pause it goes back to the play. Here is the script:

When I place a flv into a flash movie and apply a skin and publish everything, it works fine on my local machine, but when uploaded to a server the player skin will not show up, yet the flv shows up and begins playing. Has anyone encountered this before? Isthere a way to embed the skin in the swf instead of having it be
I am creating an MP3 player, populated by xml. Everything works great, except the scrub bar. I can make the bar dragable, it is keeping the length etc fine, but when drag it, it goes back to its current position as opposed to where I want it to go. I can upload source file(s) if they are needed....
I have started the vhost setup. I have cpanel on the server and I added the domain and it resolves to the hosting account just fine pull up www.domain.com and goes to server.
I added the www.domain.com vhost. I pointed the application dir to /home/domain/public_html/applications/
I copied live over to applications dir. I setup user and pass for the virtual host login.
I am building a website that is all in flash.In the first frame there are 6 buttons. Each button has a code to go to a different place in the timeline, where something happens. For example, one of the buttons has this code:
on (release) { gotoAndPlay("web"); }
Another button has this code:
on (release) { gotoAndPlay("widgets"); }
And so on.Everything happens on the same timeline.When I publish the movie to test it (ctrl+enter), everything works great.The problem happens when I upload the file to my ftp and try to view it online. In that case, when pressing one of the buttons, instead of jumping to the place in the timeline where it should go, it just continues on to the next frame on the timeline. So for example if I press the "web" button, instead of going to the label "web" it just continues on to frame 2 in the timeline, and then 3,4,5 and so on until there is a stop(); in the actionscript.
After the first press though, it goes back to working fine. Meaning, the second time I press the "web" button, it will go to the "web" label, and from the second click onwards everything works great. it's just the first click on ALL the buttons that doesn't work, although it does work locally...
I have SWFAddress going for the most part, but the browser's back and forward buttons aren't working properly. When I use the back and forward buttons, it successfully changes the URL but it seems the SWFAddressEvent.Change is not being fired in Flash. Everything I click within the .swf relies on this event and works great, but the browser buttons still won't.
I'm creating a video player that is linked with XML. Everything seems to work fine with no errors in the compiler, but my foward_btn and back_btn don't seem to do anything. It shows the trace "foward button" and "back button" but does not move to the next or previous video.
everyone out there that is smarter than me. I have made this little prototype video player, and it isn't working. It'll eventually become a nice little player show videos from our summer camp for the last few years, but first I want to make it work in a basic stripped down version. There is a playback component with one of the skins right above the three buttons.

It runs fine when I test in in flash and even the .swf file runs fine alone, but when I put it in a .html file via Dreamweaver and in the published .html it doesn't run. What up?
I have installed FMS 4.5 successfully. I am able to run all the videos in the index.html page (filmthos.com/flash), including the HLS video on my Iphone. I was able to setup a video player for rtmp and it works fine, but I am having trouble with setting up video players for HLS and HDS. I am looking for somthing simple.
The source file or located in these location: /hds-vod/mvp5/media/MP.mp4.f4m and /hls-vod/mvp5/media/MP.mp4.m3u8 respectively (the httpd.conf location for both is HttpStreamingContentPath "/opt/adobe/fms/applications"). So obviously I want a simple video player for the HDS that plays flash and another to play HLS and HTML5. The index.html seems to cumbersome to fine out how these players work.
I'm trying to set up a poster frame for my FLV player. I'm able to get the poster frame do it's job when the video ends. But I'm not able to unload it if it s clicked again or get the play/pause button to switch accordingly.
I am setting up a website which requires lists of items to be loaded, I have set up a page that "slides" into the stage with 2 buttons at the bottom Previous and Next, so when a user selects the next button, I'd like for the current list to slide out and the next list to slide in... same for the previous button.
I am building a basic website and am trying to set up my buttons to link to my different pages. But some of them are not working and I have no idea why. The ones that arent working are in the red box. I really don't know why cause they are set up the same as the rest... is there a bug or something I dont know that wont make these work. Seems like it might be possible to do this in Adobe Encore, but the documentation says: Note: Unless you set up privileges in Flash Player, the URL must be in the same domain as your Flash project.
Can anyone explain how to set up those privileges? I'd like to include active, clickabe links on my video to my site and to other sites that I reference.
How could one set up a movie clip that has usable buttons in it? If i understand correctly, the movieclips actions will override all the button actions...? For the purposes of my project, I need a MC that ive set up to loop across the screen with my buttons on it.

I have a grey rectangle, with a drop shadow that I use as a backdrop for some portfolio images, to view the images and and their explanation I have set up some rollover buttons at the side. Now every piece of type or image I lay over the grey box also has a drop shadow, no matter what I do, they have nothing attached to them in the filter menu....
I wanted to setup an array of movieclip buttons to navigate across my timeline via labels, this is where it went pear shaped.

This works fine, now however my understanding of whether it is 'good' code or not is an issue, if this could be improved in any way I'd like to know why and how as the problem with learning AS3 from 2 is that often you use code having seen it online without fully grasping the detail.

Now i need to make some button rollovers for my button. I know i need to set up my timeline in the button movie clips, but how do i tell flash when i rollover button_mc3 move on the time line.
is there a way you can setup a movie clip with dynamic buttons that would input data from a xml file..for instance i want the user to be able to click on a button and then that would pull information from an xml file and input into the movie clip..
i tried following the duplicate mc tutorial, however the part on putting the code in a frame to get it to duplicate on load doesn't seem to work for me

I'm trying to do in this case is populate a List UIComponent that I created with information that I get back from the PHP file. For some reason the loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, userOnLoad) isn't working and my program never gets any farther than that.

I've noticed that by using isNaN(number), it doesn't always return true when needed. In fact, by using:
var bool:Boolean = isNaN(parseFloat(numberStr));trace(bool);
It will return true with:
-sdfda $%&$ asdf
BUT, false (when it should be true) with:
230asdfs 230sdfasd.50
It seems like the letters between the numbers aren't even considered and it returns false when it should in fact return true... If it starts with a letter, it returns true, otherwise, with a number, it's false...I need to check whether or not there are any non-numeric (except "dot") in the parameter "numberStr" (a String).
I've implemented an internal preloader in my project but it's not working properly. I use Simulate Download but the preloader only shows after something like 80% is completed, which sort of destroys the purpose of the whole thing.

I have a Flash gallery that works locally but not after upload.I added several photos to the xml file and only the original 8 jpgs are displayed.URL...
The stop() is not working properly as if it were being ignored. I have even recreated a dummy flash document the stop() did work, however, it is still not working on the original design.
I'm setting up some objects connected to classes onto a movie clip dynamically, and although I'm setting the name fine, when I drag another movie clip on top of it and trace for droptarget.name I always get something like "instance01" what am I doing wrong?
