I just want to make the simplest possible form in flash.I tried to find this online, but the ones I can find are way too complex and elaborate.[code]when the button is pressed I want a php page to open open, that shows what ever was typed in "myText".it must be sent with POST, I cannot have the info visible in the URL.I already know the code to make a button work, (I put the sudo code of what i'm trying to do in it):[code]what is the actual as3 code, I would use to implement my pseudo code

How can I cause numbers with no value to show up blank instead of NaN on forms?Let's say I have a User class with an optional weight (kgs) value, of type Number. If I edit a User in Flex I get the user object from the server and bind weightInput.text to user.weight. If weight is null on the server it will be translated to NaN in Flex, and then the value of weight in the edit form showes up as NaN. That is really inconvenient, as I would like it to just be blank if it has no value.

I'm getting "Application descriptor file cannot be parsed" before I've done anything -- see screencast at I've spent several hours trying various dialog boxes within Flash to change air/publish settings, editing XML file by hand, trying to launch things using AIR SDK outside of Flash, googling for something similar, but I can't seem to come up with anything that works.I'm curious if other people follow the steps I followed in the screencast if they get different results. I am creating a component that will be a large plus or a large minus. I don't want to use a bitmap because even I can draw this using the Graphics class, but the component must be clickable (the Shape class is not). It will be part of an item renderer, so I want it to be as light-weight as possible. UIComponent does not seem to sent CLICK messages.

I have a super involved and somewhat silly site I've been working on for a long time piecing together fragments of AS2 code and modifying them to the best of my limited ability.The site is here:http:[url]....I am finally adding the last steps, a series of contact forms with a PHP script in the back end. Anyway, I implemented a form script and have it triggered by clicking the "CONTACT" button you can see on the lower bar. So, click contact and once the form opens (an external SWF loaded into an MC), type away and everything works fine unless you use the letter "f" in either upper or lowercase. It causes the screen to flash and for the form input to lose focus.It works (in that you can enter everything normally -- the form doesn't function, but that's just the PHP which I have yet to edit.)

I am trying to create a simple form using Actionscript 3 that will collect data from a form, then pass that data to an asp file. I have attached the following code to the submit button,but this is not working.I'm not sure if I have to add anything else and I don't understand why this is not working. I have a flash form that need to submit values to a PHP file.I am using in flash: varsToSend.send("subsrcibe.php","process","POST"); The "subsrcibe.php" contains a form that is connected directly to a database.What i want to do is, to load the variables from Flash to this PHP file, and then submit them automatically to the database (The PHP page should not open to the users).

I am having some issues with a php email form that I am using in my AS3 project. the form works perfect and all communication is good.however when the user is on the page and wants to tab to the next text field it jumps to one of my hyperlinks on the same page and not to the next text field down on the php form.
is there any way to stop this from happening.I have tried placing the php form on a seperate layer in a seperate mc and I have done the same with the hyperlinks .you can see what I mean by visiting this development site.(after entering go to contact)http:[url].....

I have only two fields Name and Email in a Order form and a PayPal button for payment at PayPal ( into my account).I can do the mail portion but have no idea about PayPal code, however on search here I found one code and after pasting this one to the PayPal button it redirects to my PayPal account.But the question is anybody can post a message and leave the site without paying me. How can I do this thing so that the user will forced to pay before posting the mail form.

I'm struggling to get the form to to go to a new frame once the form button has been submitted. [URL]Using ActionScript 2.0 The submit button is at this following path:
Scene -> txt8 (MC) -> t8.1 (MC)
The button has the following code on:

The next from frame that i'm asking it to go to, is directly after the txt8 MovieClip. Both the the txt8 MovieClip and NextFrame have stop(); code on them.The form submits all the info into the database, I just can't get it to load the next frame.

I have an HTML form that I want to upload to MySQL with PHP. That part's easy, but the thing is I want the submit button to be a Flash object. Somehow I need the Flash button to submit the form, but I think I can figure that out. The tricky part is that I need it to set another PHP variable before submitting the form. The variable will be determined by a bunch of stuff, but I can code that in actionscript later. I just need to figure out how to pass the variable back to the webpage. A $_POST variable would probably be fine.
edit: What if the flash object returned some javascript and set a variable that way? making it submit the form as well while still catching a variable?

I have always wondered this functionality but would like to know what your approach is for this task:
Lets say a project requires three forms screens:
Screen 1 is user info
Screen 2 is product Survey
Screen 3 is Contact info
All three forms will be generated on runtime. So the application cycles starts with Screen 1 which has the usual user info fields such: First Name, Last Name, Email and until user fills in all three fields, application will now allow the user to go on the screen 2.
I have only dealth with one screen form and have never programmed a segmented form. I usually declare a BOOLEAN and set it to false and after making sure that all the fields are filled then the BOOLEAN Value is set to true and user is able to submit the form.
Now having to deal with 3 different forms, how do you handle such situation. Does one need to set Boolean value to false for each screen when the screen is initialized or loaded first?

I have noticed two differences between spark and mx forms which are causing me some problems. It seems by default the mx forms are arranged to the label is above the form input item. In Spark they are arranged next to each other. Also the label in spark forms are bold by default.For example MX code could be

I wanted to create a simple flash contact form for my flash website. I went through Lee's tutorial on how to create the contact form and PHP file to go with it. I've uploaded everything to my server and tested the form. My flash form consists of Name, Subject, Message, and Email fields. When I receive the email all that comes through is this with none of the actual message that was written IN the contact form:
Name: Subject: Message: Email: The 'From' field is also blank. I don't know if my problem is with flash, my PHP code, or with my server. Can someone take a look at this and tell me what's wrong? I can't seem to find any errors from Lee's tutorial with my code or labeling.

I've created a form in Flash 8. I want the form to be emailed to a certain address after the user completes the form. I was hoping to use a submit button to send it. However I'm not figuring it out. I've made the form but when I select submit I just get a blank email form with the TO address I want and none of the data.I don't want this data recorded in a database just sent plain to a group mailbox.

for the past couple of days or so i've been attempting to connect a flash login for to a php page for use with MySQL. I've been working with PHP for a while but only started with Flash/Actionscript 3 recently. With all of my searching, all that i can find is As2 helps but no AS3.
