ActionScript 3.0 :: Slice Image Into Random Number Of Rectangles?
Jun 21, 2010
I want to create animation. I want to slice image into random number of rectangles (it can't be squares) and I want to animate all of this rectangles at once.
I'm making a top view zombie survival game in AS3. I want to spawn the enemies in waves defined by "frames", or the difference between a bigger rectangle and a smaller one within it, like a picture frame. Right now here is my code, which is pretty inefficient. I was wondering if there was a better way. This code doesn't work right either, all the enemies spawn in the bottom right of the screen:
public static function waveOne():Point { var inner:Rectangle = Waves.WAVE_ONE_RECTANGLE_1; var outer:Rectangle = Waves.WAVE_ONE_RECTANGLE_2;[code]....
I'm trying to figure out how to tile a rectangle (the stage) with an arbitrary number of rectangles. Simple tiling where all the tiles are the same size and simply stacked in a grid.I'm doing this with a resizable layout and a number of tiles that is arbitrary and will change over time.
Given a more or less 4:3 or 16:9 monitor I would like a solution that tends toward minimizing the perimeter of the tile and being similar in aspect ratio to the screen. I realize that if I have a prime number of tiles that I won't be able to make a nice grid, but other than that it seems there should be some way to do this.Lets say I have 231 tiles I need to arrange. The factors are 1, 3, 7, 11, 21, 33, 77 and 231.If the screen is really, really wide 1 x 231. Wide but not not as crazy wide as before 3 x 77. And most likely 11 x 21 is what I would need.So is there an easy way to do this on the fly? Is there a pre-calculated way to make it easy?
I am trying to draw random colored rectangles. I want to have them everywhere. Repeat them at X and Y. Its just repeating at X. Dunno why it dont want to take "for loop" at Y position
Im tring to create a slot machine game...I have a mask.and I have 3 layers each of which has a motion tween of 120 frames.they animate my 3 slots..the problem is how and where I can assign a random number so that the motion tween should stop at any image.?
i am trying to make a animation in which Image change in slice while the mouse over the image and its come back to original image with slice yani reverce
I have the following AS code to draw a single rectangle using mouse, but I need a different code that allows drawing multiple rectangles and the selection/exclusion of individual rectangles like a modeling tool (eg.: MS Visio).
I'm trying to break up a square or rectangle into a large number of randomly sized squares or rectangles so that none are overlapping.How to fill a square with smaller squares/rectangles?The solution seems to be either through bin packing or some sort of tree map.But what I'm looking for is the actual algorithm in Java, Javacript , actionscript or even C.
I've got two files A and B. A generates a random number in a dynamic text box and loads an image as the background:
[Code]...
I'm trying to avoid useing a button to send the number from A to B, and instead am trying to use an event listener that sends the number when A loads background.jpg; but the number never gets sent (I start with B open already, and then open A). I've gotten this to work with an onRelease event for a button , so i know the LocalConnection coding works, but as I said I want to avoid using a button to send the number. I'm sure it's right in front of me but i've got no clue why it isn't working, so I defer to wiser minds.
Dear Guys I Want To Generate A Random Number Between 2 Number BUT Without Generating 2 Same Number I Mean If For Example Already Generated Number "2" Next Time Did Not Generate It , Is There Any Solution
I have made a circular pie chart which is dyanamic i.e. created at run time.It takes input from external xml file which contains -color for individual pie slice
I have the Bitmap data from a Loader object and I would like to slice it up into 32x32 squares to use as tiles. What is the most efficient way to do so?
It is a wonderful code. But I would like my own images instead of the rectangles that actionscript generates. How to modify the following code,This is whole code I have on my project:
I Want To Generate A Random Number Between 2 Number BUT Without Generating 2 Same Number I Mean If For Example Already Generated Number "2" Next Time Did Not Generate It,
I'm trying to create a shuffle button for my mp3 player. I don't want it to repeat any song in the xml playlist until all the songs are played. Is there to display a random number on the click of a button, without repeating any number in the array until all the numbers in the array are used?
Making a random number between lets say 0 and 99 is relatively straight forward using the Math.random class What is the best way to create 100 unique random numbers from between 0 and 99 where no random number is repeated?Would I make a random number, chuck it into an array then the next random number created is checked against the array, and if the number has been created before try for another number?
I want to change the code a little bit by creating an Input Text. A random number will be typed in that text instead of having a fixed, pre-set number.
i have a project and i need that when a specific variable equals a specific value a random number decreases on the current number, its easy to make it decrease but i need to decrease instead of 4 to decrease a maximun of 5 and minimun of 3.ere is the code :
I've been putting data into an array via XML, and then selecting at random an image string to load in a pic at random. But whilst doing this, I wanted to remove the String from the Array that I have just used, so I don't get repetition of the same image in the output. I initially thought that pop would remove the string I had just used - But of course it Removes the last value in the Array instead, which doesn't really help.
Ok - so how about randomizing the data once inside the Array, after it has been pulled in from XML!? That way I can load in the 'last' image, and then pop it out! Keeping a randomized selection of images each time 'it' is loaded
I have code that I got off line that will create a random number in the output tab. I put together an if else statement, however I can not figure out what how to call the random number into the if else statement. My last try was calling "n," However that did not work. I have a bit of the code that I am working with. I am giving only the first 3 but there are 13 in total, but as they are all the same just going to different frames I thought that it was not necessary to show them all.
function randRange(min:Number, max:Number):Number { var randomNum:Number = Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1)) + min; return randomNum;
[code]...
If there is an easier way to get the same thing I am open. I just want it to start on a specific random frame (13 of them).
