ActionScript 3.0 :: Stop Embedded Flv When Page Change
Mar 8, 2009
I decided to try and build a site with AS3 and am regretting it. What used to be simple in AS2 confounds me in AS3. I have an embedded .flv on a page and when I navigate to another page, the video continues to play and in fact will duplicate and triplicate etc. if I go back and forth between pages. What is the code to shut the video off when I navigate to new
I have 100 swf embedded in a page. The swf are various forms of individual audio playbacks.- an swf button that loads an swf into it that has audio on a timeline streamed. AS3 - swf that has streamed audio using scripting so there is no preloading. AS2Since I have 100 and the user could press all 50 at a time and have this giant noise of sounds and bog down their bandwidth. Is there anyway of:- stopping all playing of swfs that has streamed audio using timeline. I guess that could be like a ALL stop frame command??- stop all sounds coming from the streamed audio swf
Im using flash4 with action script 3.0, for a website promoting the xbox games Ive worked on.

as you will see the videos wont stop playing when I change pages, and I cant work it out at all, Im more than willing to give you a mention on my site . Im more than willing to supply you with the flash file...
I'm building a website in flash using my limited understanding of action script.Everything was progressing very well until I found that if I go to one of my example pages of my web site and play the flash video (with audio)and click back to my "home" button, the audio will continue to play.If I go back to the example page, the video is off and when I start the video, it plays again with the other audio. How do I stop the audio when I click away from the example page back to the home page or any other page?
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void { this.gotoAndPlay(30);} function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
Let me ask how to program an html page to move to a new web page on user's clicking an item of an embedded flash movie? But , in detail, I actually want to do a little different thing. I want that the parent html page remains there ,instead I want a child html frame has a new page after user's clicking the list item of the embedded flash movie.
When i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page. Example below. [URL]
I'm working on a pretty basic interactive children's book. I have it set up so that each page has audio relating to that specific page. Going forward, there is no issue with sound overlapping from the current and next pages. Going backward, however, there is an issue with sound playing on both the current and previous pages. How do I stop this?
I have an swf loaded in a browswer (fire fox) and i use log on console using [code]I have initialized my swf in the document class on the Event.Added to stage.and i have a clean up function performing all the clean up/exit process in the code on the event [code]Now Doubt that this is being called/ activated/trigered as i am not able to log the start and end of the function to the console. The console log is of firebug. What exactly am i missing here? I would like to call the cleanup function on reload of page or relode of swf or change of page. How do i trigger and log it properly
I'm trying to print a mc which is bigger than the default page size. I want to change the page/margin size so the content can fit in the page without scaling. Per the API reference [URL] the page settings are readonly. How can I print something bigger than the default page size? Is it doable in AS2 or AS3?
I've developed a widget that gets embedded in multiple different websites/domains. For tracking purposes i'd like to know where they are.LoaderInfo(this.root.loaderInfo).url and loaderUrl only give me the url of the swf but that is hosted on my site, is there a way without using Externalinterface (as myspace blocks it) to get this info?
i have my nave bar as my main swf then i load each page as an external swf in a mc container. each button should be marked when you navigate to the respective page. how would i load a current pages icon over the generic one when i navigate to that page then unload it when i navigate to another page?
I've built a SWF with the top layer being an invisible button. As a test, I simply uploaded the file to the server and clicked it. Here is the URL where the file is located: [URL] When clicked anywhere, it should take you here: [URL] and it does. I sent the SWF to a third party vendor who have placed the masthead at the top of a page: [URL] which its on their server. When you mouse over the image, it appears clickable, but if you click it, no action takes place. It's the exact same file. Why is it working from one place, but not the other?
I was wondering if it is possible to for flash to get the url of the web page that the flash movie is embedded on. I'd like to do this if possible without using javascript.
I am creating a Flash project for a fundraising event and tend to test it every now and again. It is an accordion menu. It is going on a html page. I want the height to be relative to the width and the width to equal 100% of the browser window. When I set the html publish settings, I set it to 100% width & height. Then I embedded a swf using the loadmovie() method. I published it again. Everything seemed to be working OK but when my menu loads with the embedded swf, it goes back to normal size (actual size of project - 450x230).
I am working on a webpage where i have to include an embedded video. The video is hosted on some other domain.I am able to embed the video and autoplay once the web page is loaded. However i have a requirement where i have to remove the div displaying the video once it is played , and in place of the video i have to now display some text.
The problem is i am able to do autoplay by the autostart variable in the embed tag...but how do i know that the video has ended. The hosting company only provides an embed tag and they donot have any player apis to use.
One way (or rather a workaround) that i feel is to start a eventlistener in the background and see for the total time of the video and when that time is reached remove the content. But the problem is what if the user pauses the video, then also the div would be deleted.
I have one swf banner which I want it into .aspx page. The website runs ok under http and the banner plays correctly. After we set the website to run under https, the banner stopped to load. I've tried to load this banner via http link from inside https running page. Nothing happened as well.
have a swf file which content a FlvPlayback play to play targeted video. It is working OK when I run published HTML file from flash professional CS5. but when I embedded this flash to asp.net content page using object tag the move will pay but the video controls play and stop with disappear. I listed down the code I sued.
The Flash site I am building includes an FLV video which is embedded into a SWF (SWF1), which contains the video control components. SWF1 is in turn loaded into another SWF (SWF2) after SWF2 is launched. After I leave the part of SWF2 which contains the video, the video and audio continue to play. You can still hear the audio after you have moved away from the SWF1 video. The SWF1 video is part of a set of mostly PNG images that slide like a slide show along the X axis. When I hit the forward arrow, the SWF1 video slides out to the left and a loaded PNG image slides in from the right and into view. But you still hear the audio from SWF1 and the video continues to play. All of the loaded SWF video (there are three total) and PNG images are loaded into the same movie clip.Question: How can I tell the FLV video embedded in SWF1 to stop playing once SWF1 has moved out of view? I would like SWF2 to tell SWF1 to stop the video.
Is there any way we can stop the sound embeded in timeline directly?
We have an application that load SWF dynamically. These external SWF are not created by our company and other company has embed the sound in timeline. without use of any actionscript or anything.
Now we need to provide the MUTE option for our user, is there any way We can simply disable all kind of sound in any mode from our ActionScript code.
I want to be able to stop all embedded flash videos on a page. For example, I have 3 flash movies on a page. If one is playing, I want it to stop if another is started.
I have just got back to programming flash after not doing any in a few years.
I've been given FLAs that contain audio embedded within the timeline. It's been a long while since I've had to deal with audio in this manner and I'm running into a problem.
The basic setup is this:
- There are 3 movie clips within the FLA
- Each movie clip contains embedded audio within the timeline
- The audio plays as soon as each movie clip begins
Here's my issue:
On the main timeline, there is a 'back' button which allows the user to move to the previous movie clip.
When the user clicks this button, it does move back to the previous movie clip; however, the sound does not stop which results in 2 audio files playing at the same time.
If I were calling the sound utilizing SoundMixer/SoundChannel, I know how to ensure the audio stops, but since the audio is embedded within the timeline, I'm not quite sure the best way to make sure the audio stops when the preceding movie clip is called.
I have a section of a site that has a voice over when you get to a page. I have a play/pause button that works fine, and plays and pauses the audio voice over. I have about 9 other buttons on this page that all have 'SoundMixer.stopAll();' in order to stop the embedded audio. This works the first time you click a button, but any button after that restarts the embedded audio.
Is there a way to make it so that Flash knows not to restart the embedded audio?
Do I need to make a sound variable and set it to 'false'. I am not sure what to do, or how to do it.
I have an embedded video in Layer 1. I create a new Layer 2 and wish to add a button to stop the embedded video.I change the Instance Name of the embedded video to my_video. I then add the following ActionScript to the button:
it's possible to use play and stop methods on an instance of an SWF that's been embedded into class using the Embed metatag?I've not been able to get it to work, and have read that it's not possible with video, so am wondering if the same is true for any SWF?
Basically, the user clicks on a button in a Flash movie and the following code is run:
Actionscript Code: var variables_to_send_out:URLVariables = new URLVariables();variables_to_send_out.test1 = "this is a test";var myURLRequest:URLRequest = new
As I am getting more familiar with FMS and understanding it better with the help of the wonderful contributors here on this forum, I am now curious about players.Players such as Strobe and REOPS to be specific. Are players all SWFs that are embedded in a page? I have seen some players here on the Adobe website that are stand-alone smaller windows that appear over the page. How is this done?So Strobe and REOPS...are we talking SWF code that is editable? You can see I am quite new to this. I'm on a roll, however and wish to continue understanding and learning.
