var sjunkBomb:Array = new Array;
for (var i:int = 0; i < sjunkBombMaxAntal; i++) {
var bomb = new sjunkbomb;[code]....
Each movieclip sjunkBomb contains an animated movieclip. When the bombs reach the bottom I want to stop the inside animation.I guess it's better to stop them so they affect the rest of the game if there are a lot of bombs. I know how to hide them with sjunkBomb[x] .visible = false; but if I want to stop them? sjunkBomb[x].stop(); doesn't work!?
i have a Flash CS 5.5 fla with a basic timeline animation. at the very last frame i put a keyframe with the only code being
stop();
nevertheless this movieclip doesnt stop at the end but loops infinitely.
the movie is exported as an SWC which is then loaded into another flash movie. however this does not call any functions in the movie nor does it interact with it, other than embedding it.
i have already tested this with the debug version of flashplayer to see if there are any exceptions, but no errors occur.
I have a contact form for which I have a tween. That contact form consists of two keyframes, first the form, I tried putting the code stop(); in the first keyframe but it didn't stop. I then changed stop(); to _root.stop();, which didn't work either. I have to stop it because otherwise users would see a thank you note before they even enter their details. What can I do? Converting to movieclip didn't work either, besides it puts a funny character when I press AltGr
I have an animation with 11 layers, 4 of them have a regular time line, 4 others have a actionscript animation(moving left to right and replacing left when disappear(they are clouds)), 1 other is just a layers for actions, and the last 2 contains a MovieClip named "fond_mc" and "verdure_mc"(i'm french, in english: "background_mc" and "grass_mc").
When I work on my Air Project, I used stop(); to stay in a frame(which is my menu), I built the .air for testing purposes and the frames keep looping, as in, it plays all the frames, and it won't stop as it's instructed to. I'm building my Application in Flash CS5, not Flex.
I am trying to stop a function in as3, I tried: delete.functionName - but it didn't work, I tried to achieve the same things using addEventListener and then removeEventListener, but that is not what I need that function has caurina tweener inside it and it has multiple tweens with multiple delays seconds, so all of the tweens are started and the seconds continue to tween but what I want is to simply stop that by stopping the function which holds the tweener so it should stop everything what is inside that function for example it could stop that function when it is mouse hovered on any object
Demonstarting basic AS3 to my Flash class tonight I discovered a strange anomoly. I created a scene with multiple frames and added a stop(); action on the first frame. Simple! But when i save the fla file to a USB drive and test the movie or even publish it to an exe, the stop command no longer functions. Save the fla to the hard drive and test/publish, it works fine. I tried this on multiple computers using CS4 with different USB drives and even different fla files created from scratch. The problem is consistent. gotoAndStop( ) also ceases functioning when the fla file is saved to the USB drive and then tested/published. (BTW, I also tried to do it with AS2 and the stop() command functions correctly on both the USB and hard drive).
I've used the stop(); function on my actions frame, top layer, on all of my frames. I've tried using it on keyframes for all of the frames, and on one "master" actionscript frame (spans the movie).
stop(); won't stop my master timeline. I've traced it, and it isn't being activated--so that tells me that for some reason, the actions on the frames (not in the document class file) aren't being triggered.
Is it related to the fact that I have a custom document class? I can't think of anything in there that would cause this to happen, and I even put a stop(); in the beginning of the constructor function. (Didn't work so I took it out.)
This isn't a looping movie clip inside of my timeline, it is the master timeline itself.
XML text to be used as a link within my flash site.What I mean by this is I have a XML file with a list of shows and at the end of each title and short description and I would like to have a link to the show's dedicated page.I know how to do a URL link but a gotoAndPlay / Stop link doesn't seem to work the same way.. Here is an example of what I mean:
Show Name 1: Short description link to dedicated 'page'[code]....
as simple as it gets, right? Wrong, the preloader works however is get this error 1087: Syntax error: extra characters found after end of program. The preloader it self works it plays and when the movie is loaded it begins the movie, however the movie doesnt stop at any of my stop commands and keeps looping through itself over and over again till i exit the window.
When my animations are playing in the flashplayer and you rightclick and uncheck the play command only the animations in the main timeline stop playing. All the child animations continue to play. How do I make it so they all will stop playing when play is unchecked?
Is there a event listener that monitors if the movie has been stopped?
I've tried a couple dozen things to try and stop this movie clip, even down to the bare bones basics and its not working.I have an imported TIFF sequence that i imported onto the stage of a movie clip. Its 73 frames long, i want it to stop on frame 73.So i add the usual stop(); command but it doesn't stop, it keeps looping.On the main layer i put this movieclip in i have an AS layer that also has stop(); and moviclip.stop();But it doesn't stop at all. it just keeps repeating.I put it down to this bare basic setup just to see if i could even stop it. But its not stopping.Layers -> and stuffScene 1Content - movieclipMCActionScript - stop(); movieclipMC.stop();Movieclip - keyframes consisting of image sequence 1-73. frame 73 has stop();
I thought I had a handle on the timer class (even just a beginners understanding), but I'm having trouble with it.I have an event listener for the timer and it starts fine i get a delay, then a tween,but when I place a myTimer.stop();in the fuction the listener called (to stop it) it dosent stop.it will repeat placing the first image, and then call the first function again
......Wait its placing the first image in (a couple of lines before the start), so Its restarting the whole movie, not just the function?
myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, tweenone) myTimer.start(); function tweenone (event:Event):void[code]...........
I have a flash code where i am loading an AS 2 SWF inside AS 3. The thing is if i put the AS 2 SWF on same domain its working fine but if i put AS 2 SWF on different domain it loads the SWF properly but the "stop()" written inside the AS 2 frame doesnt work... and it keeps on playing all the frames continuously...
Here is the loading code..
var context:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(); if(Security.sandboxType == Security.REMOTE){ context.securityDomain = SecurityDomain.currentDomain }; var objLoader:Loader = new Loader();var mRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("SomeURL.swf");objLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event .COMPLETE, onSWFLoadComplete);objLoader.load(mRequest, context);
I have a swf with 4 scenes, in each scene there's a FLVvideo. I have buttons going to prevScene and nextScene and when goback and forward I hear the sound of another FLV,?the code for the buttons (for example) is
I am trying to create an app that lets the user draw on a stage. I can start drawing, but the app doesn't stop drawing. I don't know if this is an Action Script issue or if I have created a structure that just doesn't work. Here is my code:
I'm experiencing difficulty when playing sound files. When I start the playback of the timelime using the enter/return button everything plays as it should. When I press it again to stop, the visuals stop but the sound file in the timeline just keeps playing until it reaches the end of the track- even if I have cut some out of the timeline. I used to use mx 2004 and never had the problem. Note: I am using this in college not on a personal computer.
I have movie clip buttons with a dynamic sound withing a slide show. Slide show consists of 3 movie clips connecting on frames 1, 300 and 900. The movie clip buttons with sound over are within the connecting movie clips. My problem is that although the sound and buttons work fine most of the time, sometimes, particularly if I mouse over the button wile it's transitioning on one of the connecting frames (300, 900), the sound doesn't stop... I'm sure I'm missing something in the Action Script?? Here's the script I'm using for the buttons:
I put an actionscript to make a "matrix effect" on the timeline, but it won't stop playing. It's just repeating over and over again. Even when I'm going to a next frame. Is there a way to stop the script from playing?
This is the code from the "matrix effect":
for (i=0; i<=463; i++) { _root.attachMovie("digit","digit"+i,i); this["digit"+i].the_depth = i; }
I have been following Doug WInnie's tutorials on flash, and am up to ep17: http:[url]....He briefly mentions these functions at the end, but doesn't go into any detail: Add event listener and callback function for roll over of the
When I tried doing this, I labelled one frame within the myBall movie clip 'normal' and the next one 'glow' and I added a filter glow to the ball on the glow frame.When I play it back, and mouse over the ball it flickers really quickly between glowing and not glowing, and when I mouse out it returns to normal and stops, but I thought it should stop on the glow frame as well.
I made a few functions that should fade between tracks very simply. I start with track1, then call my initial function to fade to track2 -- works just fine. Then later when I want to call it to fade back to track1 it will fade track1 in but keep track2 playing (when the first time it properly fades the already playing track out) --Here is the code (all variables are defined earlier):
ActionScript Code: /* trans is my SoundTransform channel is my SoundChannel newSong is a holding var*/
var soundReqTele:URLRequest = new URLRequest("sounds/telephone_ring.mp3"); var soundTele:Sound = new Sound(); var controller:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); soundTele.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, soundLoaded);
I'm trying to debug my as3 game, but no way, the debugger starts (with the different debug panels) but doesn't stop at any of the breakpoints so i created an empty as3 file (.fla) and put some simple code:
[Code]...
I put a breakpoint at line 2when i press Ctrl-Shift-Enter Or Debug>Debug Movie, it traces "Hello" 2 times without stopping when i right click on the new flash player window that opens, it shows DEBUG on the menu (not grayed), and i think that it means it's the flash player debug version that is running I'm running on Vista and I tried reinstalling Flash without success, but i've got another PC with windows XP and it works well on it, Are there any restrictions on Vista or maybe services that should be started, or anything that should be activated / deactivated?
I don't know why but i've got fla files that I can't debug.
I'm able to launch debugger and the swf file is correctly run when I do it, but if for instance I add a trace in my code and add a breakpoint on it, it will appear in the output but the debugger doesn't stop on the breakpoint.
It's a pretty big project that uses a quite numbers of external swc libraries, home produced for the most, and I can't figure where could this bug come from. All the more if I create a simple fla file with a simple document class attached to it the debugger works perfectly.
So if anyone already encountered the problem or got an idea over any reason that could make the debugger to not stop on breakpoint,
I am making a web site on flash. Im trying to do much of it with AS.Only on 2 movieClips I have more then 1 Frame and on the first frames both have them stop(); command, however both those stop(); commands do NOT work upon site load.
I have an instance of an flvplayback component on a frame (not the first frame) on a timeline in a flash AS3 flash app file. I would like to stop the movie when i exit that frame, either via gotoAndStop() or whatever else.s there a listener for this? Or any solution that people know of?
I do slide presentations on iPad via Flex IOS packager 4.6. The slides are swf's that have to be dynamically loaded at runtime because they change daily. Can't compile them in.
My slides load fine with animations and look great - but the animations on each slide loop. I can't stop them. When I decompile slide swf's I see the stop() commands there on each one. IOS just blows by these stop()'s though (PC doesn't). Interesting that the swf's load at all on IOS. I'd have thought the stop()'s would have prevented that. They do load though. IOS just doesn't honor the stop()'s. Animations play beautifully. Can I stop them some other way? Maybe externally from my main Flex code? Is there a way to stop a Flash animation without stop()? Maybe build the animation differently? Another product I've seen has solved this issue so I know a solution exists. When they play animations on IOS they stop.
any AS3 code that stops a revolving viewer from running when navigating to other pages. the thing is, it remains visible on all other pages only after viewing it.
