I have also tried various others such as:

When I put the actual link in such as:
new URLRequest("music/song.mp3")
It works perfectly fine, though.

Apr 28, 2010I am using Flash CS3 and Actionscript 2.0.I want to make a photo.jpg that is in my images folder load into a swf that is in a swf folder. It works fine when I have the photo.jpg in the same folder as the swf. But it does not work when I have the photo.jpg in a different folder. What must I do to the AS2 to make this happen? "DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.

However, this is going to be used as a widget that people can embed on their site, I can specify the full URL to the icons folder and the app works, but to save bandwidth I've imported the images into the flash library under the folder "icons". All I need to do is set the path variable to the icons folder in library and it should work by the loading the images from the library rather than loading the images from my site.

Dec 27, 2011Is it possible to trace the path a symbol takes and create a shape(or shapes that appear as a tracing)? Very Simple example: The letter C, without serifs. Basically an arc. I would like the C to be "drawn" in the animation. I hope to simply motion tween along the C and trace it's path. I did a shape tween, and wasn't happy with the results. Plus complex paths would be very hard to shape tween.

Oct 22, 2009I've previously worked for commercial companies and when developing a Flash Actionscript 3 class path, we would use the industry standard such as: com.companyname.* for where we stored out classes, and set up the directory structure with the com folder being the top level. Now, I'm working for a company who's URL ends with .org should I make the top level folder org or leave it as com? What about people who make classes for educational systems, do they use edu or com?

Jul 24, 2009Actually I am the application is for recoeding live stream. The recorded videos are placing in the folder named live_test as specififed above.But I want to change this path. There is a folder named public in the root directory. In the "public" folder we have a folder named Recorded_Videos, I need to place the recorded videos on this folder. How can I do this.Another issue that occurs while recording is NetStream.Record.noAccess. This is occuring while the recorded video is placing on client's flash media server with the path that i specified above. But when i running it in the local flash media server(developer version), its working well. The recorded files are placed on live_test folder. In the client's server the stream is not recording, instead its showing an error like "NetStream.Record.noAccess". The code that I am using for recording live stream is follows:

Dec 29, 2011I am looking to create the appearance of a shape being drawn. I need a few shapes, but for the example think of a simple U. I have tried several different approaches. First, I tried a shape tween at 45 degree increments. That was a wrong approach. Then I tried using After Effects, but the movies lacked flexibility and were laggy. Currently I am building the shapes using two shape tween MCs(an arc that goes 11.25 degrees and a line that goes 21px), and repeating it.
This seems to be working, but is very tedious, and lacks flexibility. i.e. if I decided I want the shape just a bit shorter I have to remove the MC incident from every frame. Also I have no possiblity of changing the speed without completely rebuilding the shape becasue I'm doing a frame by frame animation.

Feb 16, 2011I'm trying to trace the path of an object by using setPixel on the object's position every frame in a BitmapData/Bitmap pairing. These pixels aren't showing up normally and I suspect I have a fundamental misunderstanding of the BitmapData class. Here's what I'm doing:

Using this code, the red pixels don't show up. If I initialize contrailBase to 0xFF000000 instead then I get a black screen on which the red pixels DO draw, but I need the bitmap to be transparent except for the contrail. What am I doing wrong?

IDE :: Flash File Won't Display When HTML File Is Outside Of Folder?
Sep 29, 2009When I use swfobject (or, for that matter, publish from Flash)...if my HTML file is in the same folder as my Flash .swf (called "bin")...the flash file displays as a blank white page. I can tell the .swf is on the page, because when I right-click I see the flash context menu...however, the swf is blank. So the path isn't written incorrectly.If I move the HTML file inside the "bin" folder and change the path from "bin/myFile.swf" to "myFile.swf" everything works again...what gives?I think it might have something to do with using the Loader class...I am using loaders to loader external .jpeg files. But I don't know what to do about this other than to keep my HTML files in my "bin" folder which is a bit of a pain.

Jul 12, 2010So I've created an xml slideshow using Flash Slideshow maker pro, because its very fast and versatile and I need to update my galleries frequently. I'm trying to load it into my flash site using the following AS3 script:

and when I do that, it seems to be unable to read the xml file anymore and I get a "load fail" message.
