Nov 13, 2009Is it possible for Flash or possibly Adobe AIR to have access to a local Access database?
I will have either a Flash EXE or AIR application running on a local PC (WinXP). The PC will also have a local Access database. I need my Flash application to get the data from this Access database. How would I do this?
I doubt it can be done with Flash or AIR alone (someone prove me wrong or right), but is there an option for some middle-man application to access the data base and send it on to Flash? How would this work?
Or could I read the MDB file into Flash and parse it myself? is there a library for this?

1) How to save the date and time to the database? Based on web search result on how to find date or time in APS, I thought I could do

2) When executing the file (getURL("http://yourSite.com/processForm.asp",0,"post");
}), it always opens the processForm.asp file in a new window. Can it be executed in the same window or just being hidden?

They have the same structure, except one thing: "instruction" have classic tween, "back_anim" have "shape tween". I'm running it on Adobe Air 2.6 for Android. On each of this childs are two labels: "show", "hide". All stop frames present. And I have such a code to controll them:

Next frame after stop frame - all ok.

Jan 31, 2011I've tried downloading the newest Adobe Flash Player 10 on IE8 on my Windows Vista and it's not working.It downloads but when I go back to hulu.com it says I still have to download the latest version. I've tried unistalling and installing it (several times)... I've made sure that Shockwave is enabled under Internet settings... I've also tried unistalling IE8 and reinstalling without the updates... and still nothing.I even tried installing Flash 10 on IE7, still nothing worked.
I have Windows Vista 32 bit and not terribly computer savvy.Hulu works fine when I use Firefox, but it's not working on IE8. I need it to work on IE8 in order to stream video from hulu on our Wii through PlayOn TV.

May 17, 2011I have Windows 7 64-bit running on a Dell Studio 1558 with Internet Explorer 9 32-bit. Adobe FlashPlayer 10.3.181.14 is installed. All was fine (i.e., videos played well; e-cards displayed well) up until a few days ago. Now, videos won't play (the screen remains black) and e-greeting cards won't open. I have re-installed FlashPlayer several times. Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.

Apr 21, 2010The problem I've encountered is that I am using a keyboardEventListener to make a movieclip run around. As I'm a college student, I'm creating this for an assignment but we are forced to use as3 classes.
When I run the code in the maintimeline, there is no problem. But when I try to access it from another class (with an 'Export for ActionScript' on the movieclip in question) I get an error he can't address the stage.

Feb 3, 2010I'm doing an application adobe air with Flash CS4, in as3 , I'm really don't need a database, but a small file database it gives me some adventages, just I need a little file, with 2 o 3 tables for a few data, no much that 50 I think. I look for some kind of database that don't need instalation(important), if with a dll, or something similar (it's only for windows). I google for the last 4 hours but only I find mysql, and I don't want any kind of motor working. MS Access, it would be ok, but I haven't found information.
