I am trying to write a preloader for multiple images of unknown size from an external source. Therefore I am counting the clips as they complete and using this as the progress in a dynamic text field.
The dynamic text field loader_mc.loadText.text = Percent;
Loads only once when the 1st clip has loaded even though the trace within the same if bracket traces out the different percentages as each clip loads
Here's the onLoadComplete function...

i have and xml that passes these image details to be loaded into flash. image path, x,y,heigt,width, rotation i use moviecliploader and attachemovies with a for loop to load the images. but find difficult set images there respected property after onLoadComplete even if the movieclip loader as i can pass the approriate values in to movies.how to pass the properties into onLoadComplete even of the image

Roughly, my code looks like this:

why does my array content seem to change when in the onLoadComplete call? If the array is out of scope, then why can I still see the length of the array and determine the type of the contents?
my page contains a Loader to load the different parts of the site as swf but i also have a little intro, witch ist a .flv file. i knwo i can�t load a .flv file in the loader class so i can put it into a swf an load it this way. the thing ist, after the intro is completed my page should get the info to change
1. a var which will change the proberties of the loader
2. the color of the Header/Footer
3. initialize a little x tweening with the body
is there a way to get the onLoadComplete info out of the swf witch contains the flv file or do i have to change the loader to a flvplayback component and afterwards back to a loader
and if i have to do so - how do i implement the flvplayback component into my .as file -i tried it and i always get the message, that he cant find the class.
I working on some dynamic loading and I want execute a function after the image is loaded....

I am dynamically creating a 2 movie clips in a class. in one movie clip i am loading the image using MovieClipLoader. everything is working fine. but the onLoadComplete method is not working properly. i am using onLoadComplete method to find the width of the image but in onLoadComplete event the exact width is not calculating

I'm loading an MC and then attempting to activate a function onLoadComplete in order to hide the MC. The function is actually reused several times through out the "app" I'm building. I know the onLoadComplete works because I tested it, but the function isn't being activated

I want to load an external swf called 'signs.swf' into an empty mc called 'signholder'.

Everything works. Cool. But, I now want to target something within the signs.swf. How do I do it though? What is the path? Do I have to give the child of signholder an instance name? Everything I try fails.
If I wanted the root timeline of the external swf to gotoAndPlay(2) for example,...would i say...
signholder.loadit2.gotoAndPlay(2) ???

I am having issues with startDrag(). I have a movie clip called circle. Inside circle, I have a movie clip called circleFill and another called circleOutline.onEnterFrame, this movieClip is duplicated 4 times.
When I use this:

I have a wordpress based site that stores information about an image in a database field called "background" in a table called "wp_postmeta".The 'loader' gets an url such as "/thisImage/background.swf"The "background.swf" should somehow display "background.jpg" instead but since I've changed the field name in the database (from background to temp_background) it doesn't work.I pass variables to the "loader" swf and they are correct based on the new field name but it still isn't working.I need to know if there is anything in the .fla's (and therefore the .swfs) that is pointing to somewhere in the database hard-coded. Basically I need someone to look at them and tell me how they are working.

I have this code in a function to change the colour of a mc called Tab1. It works fine. But when the mc is tweened it doesn't move. If I don't change it's colour with this function it tweens fine. What have I done wrong?

I am calling a group of "large" jpgs into a slide show viaxml at runtime.The files are at size and with no compression as they are seelocally on a touchscreen.They look good in Pshop on screen, but when viewed in the swfthey have odd edges in t etext areas or anywhere there is adramatic shift in color or contrast. If I set it to zero it doesn't get fired. What's the deal? Does anyone know why it wouldn't get called when setting it to zero. I have this script for random letter cycling below. I want to call this function to happen at a certain click or frame label, but when I call it with tweenmax, I get a runtime error. Can anyone explain to me how to call this function at certain events. I know this is definitely not best practice but have to try somewhere and here is what I did:

I have two classes, Init (which is my Document class) and LoadXML which... er.. loads in some XML data.
Init calls the LoadXML and when it has completed a green backdrop is draw to the screen...
but...
Why do I need to put addChild in both classes before the green backdrop (a simple rectangle) will show up.

the confusing thing is why I need the addChild twice, once in each class - otherwise the green box doesn't show, no matter which one I take it out of?
And if its twice is that two green boxes on top of each other being added to the stage? one at depth 0 and one at depth 1?
Can the button be called inside a movieclip?
View 6 RepliesOn the 'buy' screen, there are 6 unit buttons with which you can buy troops. You can control these by clicking and holding.Clicking 'play' to go into a battle has 6 identical buttons used for deploying the troops you bought. These _should_ be able to be held down, but there is a problem. It seems that they erroneously call a 'MOUSE_OUT' event even if your mouse is not moving.The pattern dictating which battle buttons can be held and which can't is as follows: any buttons you clicked on the 'buy' screen will get bugged on the battle screen.But I don't get this. They're not the same buttons. I quite thoroughly remove them before going to the 'battle' screen (though I'm not convinced this actually means they're gone):

I have an actionscript layer, a copy layer, and a background layer. The copy layer has four frames of text. The background layer has four identical frames of background.
View 3 RepliesI'm working on a flash music site ([URL]) and am trying to integrate a 480x320 .flv into a frame loop in the "game" section of the main movie. I first tried loading a .swf version of the same file but I couldn't get the file to unload and it really slowed down the performance of the main movie. That was Thursday. So I tried to use quicktime but flash CS4 no longer accepts it. All day yesterday I've been working with a .flv version (which doesn't look nearly as good) and tried to directly import it but got an error ("no such file exists") even when it's right next to the other files. With the Wizard I tried both picking the local file and assigning the URL of the file previously uploaded to my site.
So i then tried to use actionscript to load it into the actions layer on the frame at the beginning of the "game" scene which after hours of fiddling finally worked. Here's the current problem: I just want it to loop until someone clicks to go to another section but now what happens is the video and sound from the .flv keep playing even after you click on another button to navigate away from this scene. I tried online to find a way to unload the .flv but none of them worked - wen thru pages and pages of google searches but the suggested coding did not prevent the .flv from unloading.

I'm developing a file-io plug-in and the FmsDestroyFileAdaptor or FmsDestroyFileAdaptor2 functions are not being called for my dll when the FMSCore process exits. I built the and tested the sample plug-in that comes with FMIS 3.5 and the same problem exists with it as well.
