ActionScript 2.0 :: Load A MC Into A Swf, Called From Another Swf?

I have a menu.swf dynamically loaded into a site, and when the user clicks a link i want to load a mc into the main.swf. So i have to do loadClip("menu.swf", theotherswfsmc)...
I want to load an external swf called 'signs.swf' into an empty mc called 'signholder'.

Everything works. Cool. But, I now want to target something within the signs.swf. How do I do it though? What is the path? Do I have to give the child of signholder an instance name? Everything I try fails.
If I wanted the root timeline of the external swf to gotoAndPlay(2) for example,...would i say...
signholder.loadit2.gotoAndPlay(2) ??? var wow:MovieClip = loadit2.content as MovieClip; wow.gotoAndPlay(2) ????
The function below belongs to an XML based photoGallery.swf... Its menu is automatically populated from the same XML file as well (thumbnail picture, title, description). The pictures load into an empty mc called imageContainer.In another empty mc called textContainer, I would like to load some text.swf from the xml list as well.How would you include that in the code?

I'm trying to load a .swf in a mc called container, the movie loads but not correct.When it's playing, you are only hearing a sound but you don't see the movie. On my harddisk it's working fine but on the Internet it isn't working.

I can't figure out why this text file won't load when its parent swf is being called into the main swf but will separately. in an actions layer on the main timeline I'm using this code: _root.contents.loadMovie("easter_scroll.swf"); I'm calling the easter_scroll.swf, which calls Easter.txt, into index_main.swf but the text file doesn't load although the easter_scroll.swf loads. I am confident one of you flash gurus can figure this out.
I have a Button that when clicked loads a Flex module in my AIR application. However,occasionally the Module fails to load the first time the button is clicked, but it works the second time it's clicked. When I debug it in the debugger the READY event is not fired so the remaining logic is never called.

I have a base that contains a load movie action loading "drag_bar.swf" into an mc called "content".drag_bar is a drag menu i created. It works when its opened by itself but doesnt work once it has been loaded into the base file.I know its because the AS in it contains the word "root" but when i changed it to "this", it still didnt work.
I am having issues with startDrag(). I have a movie clip called circle. Inside circle, I have a movie clip called circleFill and another called circleOutline.onEnterFrame, this movieClip is duplicated 4 times.

I have similar code on button two and this does indeed make the buttons move into place as required. My problem is this, I need to load in external swf files into an empty movie clip on the main stage called container. These External SWF files have transitions and this is where my problem is. If I place a normal button on the stage it works but not if the button is inside a movie clip and has actions applied as above. The code next is what I have believe should also be placed on the button to make swf transition one load in.
I'm trying to dynamically load a SWF into a blank movieClip called "holder" and control it by instance name on MOUSE_DOWN. I'm sure this is easier than I'm making it but the SWF just has a bunch of frames and i want to use one script to scrub through the frames but i can't figure out how ot get the instance name (or whatever) of the movieClip.

I want to load a random movie clip from the library to an empty clip on the stage called (bg_graphics). the clips in the library are called (green, blue, yellow).
I went through Claudio's preloader transition tutorial on kirupa ([URL]). I have tried to apply it to my own fla and everything seems to work fine EXCEPT I can't get any of the external swfs to load into the empty movie clip called "content". And yes, I have checked and rechecked to make sure that all MCs have instance names!
I have a wordpress based site that stores information about an image in a database field called "background" in a table called "wp_postmeta".The 'loader' gets an url such as "/thisImage/background.swf"The "background.swf" should somehow display "background.jpg" instead but since I've changed the field name in the database (from background to temp_background) it doesn't work.I pass variables to the "loader" swf and they are correct based on the new field name but it still isn't working.I need to know if there is anything in the .fla's (and therefore the .swfs) that is pointing to somewhere in the database hard-coded. I am building a portfolio website in which I have a main page and there are links (movieclips) on this main page. When these movieclips are clicked, I use "loadMovie" to load the respective subpages in .swf. I have an "onLoad" function in the subpages but the script within the "onLoad" function never got processed. (The "onLoad" function is used to resize images depending on browser size) However, I have other "onMouseMove", "onResize" functions, and they work fine. In fact, the "onResize" function has basically the same code within as the "onLoad" function, and they got processed just fine.

I have this code in a function to change the colour of a mc called Tab1. It works fine. But when the mc is tweened it doesn't move. If I don't change it's colour with this function it tweens fine. What have I done wrong?
I am calling a group of "large" jpgs into a slide show viaxml at runtime.The files are at size and with no compression as they are seelocally on a touchscreen.They look good in Pshop on screen, but when viewed in the swfthey have odd edges in t etext areas or anywhere there is adramatic shift in color or contrast. I've been banging my head against the wall with this one. I have the following set function in Flex. [code]If I set the periodChangeAmount to -1 or 1 the set method gets fired. If I set it to zero it doesn't get fired. What's the deal? Does anyone know why it wouldn't get called when setting it to zero. If I change the object type to a number or even an object it still doesn't work as expected.
When I run this program the "showAPplication" method runs first. I am just a little confused as why the "showApplication" method runs before the "complete" method? Why could this be happening?
I have this script for random letter cycling below. I want to call this function to happen at a certain click or frame label, but when I call it with tweenmax, I get a runtime error.
