I have made autorun CD. Which contains jpeg images in same folder where .exe file is present. I want them to hide or want to make presentation in 1 file on AUTORUN CD? Can i do this if yes how?

View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a flash player to display images in sequence using Flash player & ActionScript. The code below has lots of errors and I can't work them out. I have programmed in other languages and am perfectly aware that something like this.

The same problem is for the next two (commented out) timer lines.
I have used this slideshow for few projects and all I've done in the past is import new images (about 100k) and publish. The image are bit map of type (png) not big about 100k size.
Without saving the file I do a "test movie". Instead of doing the slideshow it displays the first image but doesn't loop through the rest.
I'm at a bit at a lost here. The path to the image in bitmap properties on the origanal file in imported is relative but when I select a new image its full path.
I am a MAC with latest MAC OS. I used CS4.
1) I am trying to burn a hybrid CD (MAC/PC) that will autorun and have workable shared objects on each platform from a projector file. I chose projectors because the browser version will not let my links work from the cd. It sends them to the ADOBE site with a security message where the CD path can NOT be set as a vaild path to allow users to use links. I would consider the Browser versions if I knew a workaround to this problem.
2) The projectors will not run the:

so that presents a world of problems for me as many (hundreds) of screens were created with animations starting off screen. Someone said the Adobe players 9 and 10 have messed this up... anyone know the answer here. I can not ask the thousands of potential users to remove there version 9 and go get version 8 and reinstall it.

I've been playing around with "[autorun] OPEN=OpenMe.exe" and with "Bin" folders and "Shell" scripts for days. Why doesn't anything work? All I want to do it to open "START.exe". If I double-click on START.exe in the list of disc files - it works completely. How do I get Windows to do the double clicking for me?Do I have to re-write or re-structure my project? View 3 RepliesI got a Windows Flash Projector (.exe) that I need to autorun from a USB drive. I just want the user to be able to plug in the USB drive to their machine and have it start running without any menus. I've been using the following with no luck:

The project is composed of a number of .swf files that load into the "KSF_USB_main.swf" file. There are also PDF and FLV links within some of the movies. I have the "autorun.inf" file and all other files (including the .exe Projector file) on the USB drive. When I plug it in to a PC it brings up the "What Do You Want To Do?" window and doesn't autorun.
I checked the forum and couldn't find an idea on this.I have a Flash .exe and also a MAC .app for my project. I need to autorun these when the CD is inserted.If it were a single .exe and if i wanted to load it in windows machine it would be a piece of cake.But I have 2 files, and I wanna load it from a single CD. If the system is Windows I want it to load the .exe, and if the user system is Mac i want it to load a .app. How do I program the .inf file now?
View 1 RepliesI have been given the task of creating an Autorun installer for a distributable CD, and thought I would challenge the task with Flash. In previous versions of flash it was possible to use fscommand and trickery to run other local exe files, but due to virus creators and what-not, this has been reworked and totally destroyed for others to use. So as a Flash developer I have hit a bit of a brick wall with this, and am asking out for any alternative ideas anybody may have?
Just as a heads up for what features are required: GUI with simple graphics/buttons Ability to launch external exe/pdf files must be able to be compiled to an exe, which can be launched by any windows machine without installing third party software eg Java. The only simple solution I have thought of is making an html page, but using a browser is something I want to avoid doing!

View 2 RepliesHow does Adobe Flash launch auto-update message as soon as I logon on Windows? I thought Flash is only a browser plugin. I tried look for the program it runs, but can't find it in all the usual places: Start Up group in Start Menu, HKLM Run, HKCU Run, Services.
I know it is possible to disable this via Flash preferences. However, I need to remove it mechanically once and for all, because it seems like a security risk to me (as hackers would be able to exploit a Flash installation even if the browser has not been launched).
I mean from AS3. My application is just a swf and is run by a simple Flash Player (Proyector). It isn't neither AIR nor web-embeded.I need to access to some Flash Player's options to create a default state. For example: every time my application is run I need to activate "100%" view and centre the Flash Player on the screen (desktop).

I have a small microsite built using Flash 4. It contains 5 'pages' assigned to individual keyframes, each keyframe separated by 5 frames (F5s). Each Keyframe is labelled 'page1' through to 'page5'. I have a navigation bar for the entire site which includes NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons. When the user reaches the LAST PAGE/KEYFRAME I do not want the NEXT BUTTON to show. I suspect it is something simple like nextbutton.visible = true - but I've spent a day trying to work out how to do this but without success.I am using AS3 and the existing coding is shown below.[code]
View 1 RepliesI download a flash template to take apart and play around with to make sure i still know my way around the software. Everything was going great until I discovered there are part of it that I can not find. The animation are not in the timeline or anywhere else I've looked. When I scrub through it they aren't there, but when I preview the movie (F12) they are always there. I managed to delete the pictures in those particular animations, but can not edit or find anything else.

I have a flex app that I want to hide in a div until the user clicks a link or element of some type. I've noticed that embedding the swf in a div with style display:none does not actually hide the swf, so how would I go about accomplishing this? The goal is to have the flex app loading in the background while the user does other things.

I am having one problem that I am not having much luck with though, I would like to have the two buttons visible set to false when the movie loads, which I hope would stop the initial flash that happens when the movie loads.
I'm building an mp3 player expressively to make my music URLs a little less steal-able. Forgive my hacking ignorance here, but would it be better to embed my playlist XML (with the URLs) in the SWF rather than having the SWF read the XML file from my server? Seems that the latter approach would be easier to intercept...
I'm pretty sure that no one wants my mp3s badly enough to decompile the code. But with the player currently at my site, my XML playlists -- with the URLs -- started to come up in Google searches. Would rather avoid *that* level of exposure.
I have a flv playback compotent and I created a control bar with play and pause button. I would like to hide the bar until the mouse rolls over it and then it would appear for a few seconds and then hide again. Much like the skin effect, but I'm not using the skins.

I've done some searching and it looks like you cant hide a layer using action script. I'm going to have a page with a lot of form controls on it and when the user clicks the submit button, i want all those controls to go away so that i can display something else.I really dont want to have to do control._visible = false for every single item. I did see one person saying i could attach those form fields (movieclips) to a parent movieclip, and then just make the parent visibl = false. would that be the best way to hide a bunch of controls without explicitly setting the visability on each movieclip
View 6 RepliesI have an XML file that my .swf opens and reads from my server. I actually have the .swf call a php file that builds the xml output which works fine. My question is, is it possible for anyone that can see my .swf project on their browser get the path to the php file that it calls?
Can I use POST in actionscript instead of GET when getting a url so I could hide the variables sent?
Is there a header or something that flash sends that I catch with my php file? So i can tell if flash is calling it, or if some user is just directly going to the file to get the information. Or if all else fails, can I have flash create a file on my server that when I call my php file it first checks to see if that file holds the right data before spitting out the xml. When other people link to my flash file on their server, it seems this method might still work seeing as it's my servers flash .swf being called.

View 2 RepliesWe have a little in-house LMS with courses built in Flash. Scores are updated and retrieved with POSTs to PHP scripts which query a MySQL database. All the course content and quiz questions are in xml files. Those XML files are easily accessible from a user's Temporary Internet Files (sort of SCORM style, for those familiar with it) and while you'd have to be pretty desperate to cheat at something like a Fire Safety test, it's still a vulnerability we'd like to solve.
I intend to move the quiz data (and eventually, the course content) into a MySQL database, then probably build the XML in PHP and echo that to the Flash course (as we've been doing to update and retrieve assessment scores). I think I could limit how and when the xml is displayed by passing hashes and shared secrets and whatnot between the PHP page and Flash, but this only limits outside access, and anyone viewing the course legitimately will still see the XML passed around (I think..).
Surely I'm not reinventing fire here. Is there a method or a technology in existence that allows the safe, discrete passage of xml into Flash?
Does anyone know how to hide the tab bar up top on a flex tabnavigator component? I don't want to see the tab bar at all and I don't need to click on it (I have an automated iterator through the tabs).
