Actionscript 3.0 :: Flash - Get The Video To Stop Every Time When Navigate Around Site
Dec 15, 2009
I have recently created my own flash site and have added videos on it through creating my buttons. The videos are working fine, however when I click to another page the video is still playing. I'm really pulling my hair out over how to get the video to stop every time I naviagte around my site.
how to stop the audio playing from a video when you navigate somewhere else. However none of these solutions seem to work for me.I have my buttons on the root timeline, and all my pages are seperate movie clips which are added to the timeline with labels. I tried the
I am trying to create a little website in flash.. I have some video that plays automatically once the user goes to that section (I am using frame labels to navigate from section to section of the site). But, when the user clicks another button to go to a different page, the video is still playing because I hear it..How can I stop the video from playing once another button gets clicked?
I realize this is probably an old thread, but does anyone have an actionscript example of how to create a custom start and stop time for a Flash video? In other words I'd like to be able to "bracket" the play time of a Flash video with custom start and stop times rather than start at the beginning and end at the end.
I built a drop-down menu navigation scheme in Flash. I've inserted it into my Dreamweaver page, but the links don't work. They only work if you were to set it to open up in a new window. Is it possible to have your main navigation be a Flash file, but link to your Dreamweaver pages?
The situation is I have a number of pages with a single movie clip on each, however once the movie is playing and you click the home or contact buttons for example, it will go to the correct page but the movies sound keep playing in the background. So I've got a code, but I just get an error sayign tanmovstop() does not have a body. I'm very new to action script so am very lost! I'll be extremely grateful. The code on the sites main buttons is as follows, with tanmov being the movie whos sound I want to stop:
[URL].. If you navigate to the health+science section on each site, you'll notice in the dev, the XML displays properly. If you check it out in the first one (not dev) you'll notice a break or two between each line.
The swfs and XML are identical. Anyone know of a reason why it would change like that?
I've produced a 1080p "step-by-step" video for someone and they now want to add an interactive element to it.
Essentially I'm going to want a menu system at the beginning that has several options.
As a couple of examples:
I'll need one option to play the whole video from start to finish. One option to play just steps 1-7 before returning to the selection menu. One option to play steps 1-8, then 27-32 straight after, before returning to the selection menu.
Is there a way that I can do this with ActionScript? Or would it be more straightforward to just re-cut the video into different clips and then tell the buttons to "play clip 1" or "play clip 2"?
I've loaded a video into the FLVPlayback component and I'm looking for a way to get the total time and the time played so far and output them to two text fields so the end result would look something like "00:12/00:50".
Right now I'm defining the video by the components inspector but I'm eventually hoping to define this bit by actionscript as well.
When I navigate to a scene, it just stops at the first frame.Even though i tried to recreate the scene by copying a working scene still not works. It works with the Test Scene, but not with the Test Movie.
I am building my first flash website now. The website is going to contain a few videos with my work.I noticed that when I start playing video on one sub-page (for example: about) and navigate away to another sub-page while the video is playing, the video doesn`t stop and I can hear the video audio track. What I learnt so far is that I need to use mymovie.stop(); funtion, but I am not sure how it can be applied in this circumstances.
I have a lot of questions about how to optimally load my newly created flash site (very large file size). I have created an entire site in Flash (one swf). It will take quite some time to load on smaller bandwidths, so I am wondering: Is there a way to have the main movie clip load, with the others loading in the background, instead of the user having to wait for the entire site to load.
Also, if I add a preloader to the entire swf, how can I get the flash movie to start before it reaches 100%? If not, is there a way to add preloaders to individual movie clips within the site. If not, how can I quickly break my fla apart and make my movie clips into separate swfs. After this, how do I add preloaders to those? Any general tips to greatly reduce fla or swf file sizes?
My site is here: [URL] If you note though, unless the pause button is selected, it transitions too fast. How do I stop it and let the user navigate/drive? (All pic titles and locations, etc. are in xml). Secondly, although there are many more pictures it stops at 16. Why? Where would I look for direction?
I just wanted to know how to stop my flash site from resizing to the size of whoevers looking at its browser? I just want it to remain as it's set size.
I have created my first flash video and wish to allow the visitors to play the movie themselves instead of having the movie play automatically also have a stop or pause button too.
I have a problem with a preloader on a slideshow. The preloader works perfectly the first time the slideshow is loaded but if you move to another frame and then return the loader bar loads in the top left hand corner of the stage and does not function, it just duplicates every time you navigate back to the page.
I am having an issue with my recently created flash site. I have loaded and tested this site on many different computers. There is a preloader which shows percentage of site loaded and bytes loaded. As far as I am concerned everything works great. When the owner of the company I designed the site for goes to check out things he gets an infinite load percentage and the site never shows up, only the preloader screen with an "infinite" percentage. The only difference between his setup and mine is he uses AOL online.?
I have an movieclip playing as auto start on the first page of my website. The component continues to play when I navigate away from the page. How can I stop the playback of the movie if it has not completed when navigation away from the page is invoked. I have search and am unable to find such an event using an FLVPlayback component. Presently there is no code in actionscript to display here.
I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.
I'm currenlty working on a Flash project where I need to navigate to certain points in an FLV video. I've worked a little with FLV before, and I've worked with cuepoints to trigger other actions/events in Flash, but what I'm looking to do here is when certain events happen in Flash (could be as simple as someone clicking on a button) I need the video to jump to a certain point.
My first thought was to set actionscript cuepoints then have the events in Flash make the video go to those cuepoints, but I can't seem to find any information how to do that. All the information on cuepoints I've been able to dig up talk about using the cuepoints in the video to trigger other actions, not vice-versa.
I have been using Flash with actionscript 2.0 and I barely understand that...(actionscript 2.0). Now I am building a site in 2.0, and I need to add a video to the home page. The only way I have found is in actionscript 3.0.I made a separate swv file for the video as per the instructions I found online. It works but my site will not open it, ...probably because the site is in 2.0.My question is this: a:is there code to play the hd video in my 2.0 site? or b: do I need to redesign the entire site in 3.0?
im currently trying to extend my flash video player with the option to pause the video and then use the left and right arrow keys to navigate forward and backwards frame by frame. I already figured out that I can only seek to keyframes and not every frame and that seeking always gets you to the closest keyframe automatically.
I couldnt find a method anywhere to seek to the next keyframe automatically and if I try to seek in small intervals I sometimes end up on the next frame like I intended but most of the time I get thrown back to the keyframe I started because its the closer one.
I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.[code]
I built a website using flash. I have two videos that play directly in flash CS5, i published the site and everything worked great including the videos. now the videos won't play. my website is [URL]
In my main swf file i load external swf files for each section.. In my video section i load a swf that includes a flv player that plays flv's with sound!
when i go back to menu...or go to another section....sound is still playing! why? I was thinking maybe i need to add a stop all sounds actionscript when going back to menu?
im trying to navigate through a movie clip and stop at frame labels using individual buttons to call to individual labels while being able to see the on the way to the frame(for a blurred effect).my goal is to jump from point A to point F to point Z and see all the frames in between and visa versa.
