View 1 RepliesI have recently created my own flash site and have added videos on it through creating my buttons. The videos are working fine, however when I click to another page the video is still playing. I'm really pulling my hair out over how to get the video to stop every time I naviagte around my site.
View 2 Replieshow to stop the audio playing from a video when you navigate somewhere else. However none of these solutions seem to work for me.I have my buttons on the root timeline, and all my pages are seperate movie clips which are added to the timeline with labels. I tried the
Code: Select allimport flash.media.SoundMixer;
SoundMixer.stopAll();
but i also have audio streaming on the whole site so when i navigate to a page the audio stops.
I am trying to create a little website in flash.. I have some video that plays automatically once the user goes to that section (I am using frame labels to navigate from section to section of the site). But, when the user clicks another button to go to a different page, the video is still playing because I hear it..How can I stop the video from playing once another button gets clicked?
View 20 Repliesim trying to navigate through a movie clip and stop at frame labels using individual buttons to call to individual labels while being able to see the on the way to the frame(for a blurred effect).my goal is to jump from point A to point F to point Z and see all the frames in between and visa versa.
View 1 RepliesI've put together a small website and have managed to teach myself quite a bit but there is one thing that I can't seem to find any info on,on the second page of the site I have a video, which progressively loads into the page, however I would like to make the video stop playing when you go to any of the other pages of the site. I'm sure this is a pretty straight forward piece of code but I can't work it out myself.This is the code I use to start my video playing.....
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);

I have a FLV video that I need to stop when my flash video reaches a certain frame. I named my video "SMB3video". Using AS3. I don't want something super advanced, just keep it as simple as possible. I tried to create a script which gave me no errors until it reached the frame for the timeline.
Code:
this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,ent_frame);
function ent_frame() {
SMB3video.stop();
}
I know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:
import fl.video.VideoEvent;
function onClick(evt:MouseEvent):void { if( showreel.playing ){ showreel.stop();} gotoAndStop(evt.currentTarget.name);}
motion.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);web.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);logo.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);photo.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
A friend of mine wants to have some navigation-based mc links in frame 1, then nav to a certain frame, and then have a "back" button. When the nav mc links are clicked, the timeline skips to a given frame label.
Pretty simple.
Most of the links have the same nav mc in them, so when I nav to them, I can also access any of the other frames via something like:
linkg.Contact_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,Contact_btn_clicked);
function Contact_btn_clicked(e:MouseEvent):void{
gotoAndStop("ContactPage");
}
The code above is in the first frame, and it is on it's own layer which spans the entirety of the frames in the project, so I would think that these function definitions would persist. But, when I go to a specific link, which does not have the nav mc in it, and then hit that particular frame's "back" button, all of my function definitions are gone, even though the nav mc links are now present, and as I mentioned the listeners should be active.
I have imported a video into Flash CS3 and I want to be able to stop the video on the last frame. If I say false to autoRewind, it goes to a black screen and if I say true to autoRewind, it goes to a white screen. I believe if I use a cuePoint on the last second to STOP then it would work.
View 3 RepliesI have a magazine of 40 frame. each frame is a different page. in one page (frame) i have imported an flv video from a url. but when i publish it and go to the next frame the video keeps playing, even if im not seeing it.
View 7 RepliesI have made a frame which contains four videos that play when the user clicks on the button relating to that video. However, when I click on another frame, the video's sound continues to play. But when I click back to the video page the FLV Componant Player has reset itself and is not playing anything, but I still hear the sound of the video that I played earlier. Any ideas as to either stop or pause the video that is playing when clicking away from that frame?
View 1 RepliesIt is for a portfolio for school, in the case that you wanted to know. I have created a frame in the FLT thatis for videos. I have called a net connection to load a video locally when a custom button is CLICKed, and i have made a custom button to pause said video, and play again, using togglePause
My problem is, once the video is started (using play) and if the user navigates away from this video page, (which means they are a jerk/ass for not finishing my video) the audio will continue playing, as the video has been loaded and is not through executing. I want this net connection to end once navigating away from the page, if necessary. I have tried calling an EventListener(EXIT_FRAME) but errors upon outcome follow.
I can hash a flash template to make it work, changing URL's, pictures etc, so have not had a grounding in the coding side of things.
My problem is that I have a new website that I have published in CS5 from a template by flashmo. I have substituted one of the pages to play videos ( I originally wanted to have 1 video with 4 thumbnails that would play when clicked but that is above me). On that page I have imported 4 flash video files, one set to autoplay, the others using the skin to start when necessary.
The issue is that when I navigate away from the page "Examples", the sound keeps on playing and if I navigate back to "Examples" another instance of the video starts with both soundtracks playing.
I have researched and found other people with the same issue, but the solutions always seem to involve entering a stop(); function on the buttons that navigate away from the Examples page. This is where it all falls apart for me.
below is the code from the first frame of the timeline. Am I looking in the wrong place to stop the video playing. There are other lines of script later in the movie, but I am ssuming this is where it all runs from ?!
fm_button.visible = false;
var menu_label:Array = new Array("Home", "Examples", "Packages",
"Links", "About", "Contact");
var total:Number = menu_label.length;

Im using Flash MX (the pre-02004 version) to design a photo portfolio that will be distributed on CDs to potential clients.Its broken up into subject galleries, each of which is its own movie clip.The pages of those gallery movie clips are all separate movie clips, too, regardless of whether they contain single images or layouts of images. Frame labels with stop codes separate each gallery_mc.
Within each gallery, previous and next buttons allow page-to-page navigation.From the last page of gallery_A_mc (e.g.), I can to go to the first page of gallery_B_mc by using the following ActionScript:
on (release) {
this._parent.gotoAndStop("gallery_B_FrameLabel");
}[code]....
Id think that this should make it go to frame 5 of gallery_B_mc,which is on the gallery_B_ FrameLabel, but it doesn't make it go anywhere.
on (release) {
this._parent.gotoAndStop("gallery_B_mc", 5);
}
Also doesnt make it go anywhere.
i have a video that appears when looking at my 'Other' page. But when i click onto a different page i see the new page but can still hear the videos sound. how to stop the video when you leave that page?
View 2 RepliesI'm having a rich media banner to deliver.. soon. I've imported it and set it to loop with autorewind parameters.
Now: How can i make it to loop 2 times and stop at the last frame ( seconds 00:12 / frame 370) - where it shows a still shot of the product - ?
I am in frame 20 which is playing a video, How do I get it to stop sound and video when some clicks a menu button to go to another frame? Where do I put the code?0
View 3 RepliesI'm having the problem that my video, which sits in a movie clip, does not stop the audio after moving to the next frame, even though the video instance is removed. Here is the code from the main timeline:
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
next1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ongoPage2);
function ongoPage2(Event:MouseEvent):void {[code]....
I have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data.So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it?
Here is my actionscript for the video file to show:
var loaderSlide:Loader = new Loader();
var monoslideshow:Object;
loaderSlide.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoadComplete);
addChild(loaderSlide);
[Code]...
It would be great to get a solution to this problem, otherwise my website will be kinda messy ;)
I've produced a 1080p "step-by-step" video for someone and they now want to add an interactive element to it.
Essentially I'm going to want a menu system at the beginning that has several options.
As a couple of examples:
I'll need one option to play the whole video from start to finish. One option to play just steps 1-7 before returning to the selection menu. One option to play steps 1-8, then 27-32 straight after, before returning to the selection menu.
Is there a way that I can do this with ActionScript? Or would it be more straightforward to just re-cut the video into different clips and then tell the buttons to "play clip 1" or "play clip 2"?
When I navigate to a scene, it just stops at the first frame.Even though i tried to recreate the scene by copying a working scene still not works.It works with the Test Scene, but not with the Test Movie.
View 1 RepliesI am building my first flash website now. The website is going to contain a few videos with my work.I noticed that when I start playing video on one sub-page (for example: about) and navigate away to another sub-page while the video is playing, the video doesn`t stop and I can hear the video audio track.What I learnt so far is that I need to use mymovie.stop(); funtion, but I am not sure how it can be applied in this circumstances.
View 3 RepliesIf I removeChild frame animated Movieclip, will it automatically stop running the frames inside it? Actually without calling mc.stop();
View 2 RepliesMy site is here: [URL] If you note though, unless the pause button is selected, it transitions too fast. How do I stop it and let the user navigate/drive? (All pic titles and locations, etc. are in xml). Secondly, although there are many more pictures it stops at 16. Why? Where would I look for direction?
View 1 RepliesI have created my first flash video and wish to allow the visitors to play the movie themselves instead of having the movie play automatically also have a stop or pause button too.
View 2 RepliesI have an movieclip playing as auto start on the first page of my website. The component continues to play when I navigate away from the page. How can I stop the playback of the movie if it has not completed when navigation away from the page is invoked. I have search and am unable to find such an event using an FLVPlayback component. Presently there is no code in actionscript to display here.
View 13 RepliesI want my MovieClip to play from frame 5 to frame 30 and then stop. How can I do this?
View 5 RepliesI'm working on a Flash CS5 file, with action script 3. I have a layer with all the audio for each frame. When I click the Next button, the audio from the last frame plays over the audio of the current frame. The only code I have in flash is:
stop()
btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK forward);
function forward(event:MouseEvent) {[code].....
I have put 2 days into this simple problem now and I'm ready to give up and go back to AS2.I'm using CS4; publish settings AS3, 10.0. I have a button on frame 2 that should take me to frame 3 when clicked.(So far I've tried a hundred different ways but I don't get to frame 3...)Different things I tried...
> Creating the button dynamically from the library...
> Inserting it statically from the library on frame 2...
> referencing the mainTimeline through a variable...
> wrapping the gotoAndStop action in another function...(if placed directly on the timeLine the movie correctly goes straight to frame 3)
> naming frame 3...
> using 'nextFrame' instead of 'gotoAndStop'...etc..
In most cases I don't get an error in the output panel and no compiler error either; it just doesn't work!!!(Just stays on the same frame after I click the button)Here's the code I think should work; but doesn't.
