ActionScript 3.0 :: Stop Playback Of An FLVPlayback Component When Navigate From Page
Apr 11, 2010
I have an movieclip playing as auto start on the first page of my website. The component continues to play when I navigate away from the page. How can I stop the playback of the movie if it has not completed when navigation away from the page is invoked. I have search and am unable to find such an event using an FLVPlayback component. Presently there is no code in actionscript to display here.
I'm using the same FLVPlayback component to play many page transition videos throughout a large flash site I'm building. On each transition, I'm setting the component's source using myFLVPlayback.source and listening for the fl.video.VideoEvent.READY event before proceeding with each page transition. This works fine as long as the transition between every pair of pages uses a different video.
Unfortunately, I'm running into a problem when the same page-to-page transition video needs to get invoked for two consecutive transitions. When playing the same video twice in a row, setting the source property of the component to the value it already has doesn't seem to do anything, meaning that my listeners for fl.video.VideoEvent.READY never fire. I could do something hackish like setting the source to a tiny, never-used-elsewhere FLV before setting it to the FLV that I'm actually using for the transition as a means of "resetting" the component, but I'd like to know what best practices are in a situation like this (insofar as best practices with something like the FLVPlaybackComponent can be discussed with a straight face).
I've perused the livedocs for the component but came up empty-handed, and manually using NetStream, NetConnection, and Video objects at this late stage isn't really an option.
I have come a little closer with my project, and still need some help please. I have 5 Flvs which i want to play randomly on this page [url]....The .fla file I have created contains this code:
var files:Array = [ "Sz01Puppet.flv", "Sz02Puppet.flv", "Sz03Puppet.flv", "Sz04Puppet.flv", "Sz05Puppet.flv" ]; var shuffledFiles:Array = shuffleArray(files); //quick test[code].....
This script works. In the Output every flv is listed randomly, and then repeated. Next up i want this AS Script to work with an FLV Component.But how to I get that to work?In my library I have the 5 flvs, and flvplayback component.I dragged the FLVPlayback component to the stage, but I can only add one flv in the source. How do I get my working actionscript to work with the FLVPlayback component.how my screen looks like.
there seems to be no accepted method of playing multiple flv using buttons. My latest attempt has me putting multiple instances of the flvPlayback component in different frames and using buttons to navigate to those frames. It works but nothing anyone has posted anywhere will result in removing the flv when you go to a different frame and instance. This was simple in AS2. Load movie to a traget and each time you load a new movie the other one goes away. REALLY goes away.
I am wanting to play a number of movie clips and flash produced video clips. On the main timeline I have a frame for each clip I want to play. In that frame is a flash movie that contains the video that I have embedded onto the timeline for the movie. The filesize for this project is massive and I am struggling to work on the file. I want to be able to play the video files with the playback component in each of the frames where the video was.
i am trying to close a FLVPlayback component from a button in a parenting movieClipI have been successful in closing the video using a button from the same movieClip that the component resides.I did this using the following AS:
test_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, test_btnClickHandler); function test_btnClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { showreel_flv.getVideoPlayer(showreel_flv.activeVid eoPlayerIndex).close();
I have an instance of an flvplayback component on a frame (not the first frame) on a timeline in a flash AS3 flash app file. I would like to stop the movie when i exit that frame, either via gotoAndStop() or whatever else.s there a listener for this? Or any solution that people know of?
There seems to be tutorials on starting the next video at completion of the previous one using the FLV2.5 Playback component, but stopping a video playback event when a new one is triggered. Ex. Video one button is clicked and video starts playing, viewer clicks video two button mid way through playback of video one and starts video two. How do I stop the playback of video one when video two button is clicked to avoid both playing simultaneously?
I have a flash button embedded into a css/HTML page that I want to use to navigate into a new page without opening a new window. Here's the code I'm using in the SWF which I got from the adobe tv tutorial:Here is the test page that I have embedded the flash button in:The flash button is the "about Ian" button on the upper left. I want the navigation to be like the traditional rollovers on the page. (I'm working my way up to having the embedded flash button fade into place, that's why I'm using flash.)
// 1. Event handler function function clickHandler (Event:MouseEvent): void { trace("CLICK!"); navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://ianmartinphotography.com/about.html")); } // 2.
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void { this.gotoAndPlay(30);} function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
got some FLVPlayback playback problems on IE7. Videos start after too much time. try and click on the right banners:

Did you ever had some similar problem? Do you think that maybe there's some solution? Does FLVPlayback do a progressive download by default? Could raising the default bufferTime (0.1)
I am using FLVPlayback Component in Flash AS3 to play an F4V video hosted on a different server. I want it to start playing as soon as possible, but the video won't start playing until the F4V is completely downloaded (I checked with Firebug). I tried fooling around with the component's bufferTime parameter, but it didn't seem to make a difference. For what it's worth, the SWF is being embedded in a Facebook profile using the FBML tag fb:swf, although I can't see how that would make a difference here.
I was wondering if there was a way to get the sound from a FLVPlayback component and manipulate it with using a custom volume slider? Within my Actionscript I currently have this code which enables me to control the volume of a MP3:
import fl.events.SliderEvent; var mysong = new music(); var myChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); var myTransform = new SoundTransform(); myChannel = mysong.play(0,10);
[Code]...
But Instead of using the MP3 for sound, is there a way to use an FLV's sound instead?
I have used flash in the head of my pages and have added navigation bar within that header I have attached code to the message so you are able to see the actionscript I have used to control said navigation. The problem is this does not seem to be working as I cannot navigate from one page to another
I have a link in my flash and when I click it ,it opens new window and navigte me to other pages but still the original page remain on the screen but I want to navigate from the original page in the same window what should I do ?
When I navigate to a scene, it just stops at the first frame.Even though i tried to recreate the scene by copying a working scene still not works.It works with the Test Scene, but not with the Test Movie.
I have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.
about_mc.laborLaw1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, laborLaw1); function laborLaw1(evtObj:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop("laborLaw1_fl"); }
So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:
(stop); // the following is to navigate back to "about" (Labor Page) closeLabor1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, returnLabor); function returnLabor(evtObj:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop("about"); }
That worked great BUT, once I navigate BACK to the about page using the closeLabor1 button, I am no longer able to navigate to any other button such as the home button. Here's a video showing exactly what happens. [URL]
I am having difficulty navigating to different MXML pages in my Flex application. I checked some other questions on SO about it but they seemed to be to do with tab navigation. I am trying to navigate from one MXML page to another via Actionscript code.
Basically what I want to know is how to have a page be navigable by the movement of the mouse like in Greg Martin's online gallery: [URL] I just want to know how to create that movement following the mouse.
I want to learn actionscript properly, but it's for my final project for school and I'm a bit short with time. I'm in a design course, so they don't bother to teach us coding (design courses are lame, I should have gone with programming), but I really wanted to know how to create this effect in order to make what I had in mind.
I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.[code]
I am building my first flash website now. The website is going to contain a few videos with my work.I noticed that when I start playing video on one sub-page (for example: about) and navigate away to another sub-page while the video is playing, the video doesn`t stop and I can hear the video audio track.What I learnt so far is that I need to use mymovie.stop(); funtion, but I am not sure how it can be applied in this circumstances.
I am creating a website using the slide presentation template. However, when I navigate to a page I have already viewed, it only shows the last frame of the slide rather than starting from frame 1 of the slide. Is there I way I can tell button to go to a slide and play from frame 1 regarless of how many times the slide has been viewed?
My site is here: [URL] If you note though, unless the pause button is selected, it transitions too fast. How do I stop it and let the user navigate/drive? (All pic titles and locations, etc. are in xml). Secondly, although there are many more pictures it stops at 16. Why? Where would I look for direction?
how to stop the audio playing from a video when you navigate somewhere else. However none of these solutions seem to work for me.I have my buttons on the root timeline, and all my pages are seperate movie clips which are added to the timeline with labels. I tried the
I have a problem with a preloader on a slideshow. The preloader works perfectly the first time the slideshow is loaded but if you move to another frame and then return the loader bar loads in the top left hand corner of the stage and does not function, it just duplicates every time you navigate back to the page.
I have just done couple of banners for Dettol with BG sound, now the client wants the sound to be stopped when he navigates away to a different web pageThe issue is Mouse-over the banner and press alt-tab. The music keeps playing and you can't stop it!Without mouse-over (music is playing at thispoint), press alt-tab and go to another application. Press alt-tab and comeback to the browser and the music starts playing, even though the mouse is not over the animation for reference
I have recently created my own flash site and have added videos on it through creating my buttons. The videos are working fine, however when I click to another page the video is still playing. I'm really pulling my hair out over how to get the video to stop every time I naviagte around my site.
I have this script (below) and I'm using the next/prev button script to navigate back and forth. When I navigate back to the first page which has the actionscript code to load the music, it begins to load the song again and they overlap. How do I stop loading when song is already on?
var audio:Sound = new Sound(); var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("MenuBackground.mp3"); audio.load(req); var channel:SoundChannel = audio.play(0,1000); var xForm:SoundTransform = new SoundTransform(); musicOn_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playSound); [Code] .....
