I have a problem with a preloader on a slideshow. The preloader works perfectly the first time the slideshow is loaded but if you move to another frame and then return the loader bar loads in the top left hand corner of the stage and does not function, it just duplicates every time you navigate back to the page.

I have this script (below) and I'm using the next/prev button script to navigate back and forth. When I navigate back to the first page which has the actionscript code to load the music, it begins to load the song again and they overlap. How do I stop loading when song is already on?

I have a site at [url]... with flash content on the home page. The preloader works fine the first time you load the page, but if you click any link on the page, and then hit "back" in Internet Explorer to get back to the home page, the preloader shows stuck at 100%.
The movie file has 2 frames. The 1st for the preloader, and the 2nd for the content. Here's the code for my preloader[code]...
Anyways I am using action script 3.0 and I created multiple layers using just one scene. I created a layer with lables on them to mark where I want my buttons to point to and go to. I have the stop (); on the first frame. And I made my buttons mostly interactive with movie symbols and tweens.My first scene I have 2 doors, the user can pick which door to go to and it takes them into a different path.I made the buttons that are clicked to go forward, and then I tried to make an invisible button on the button edge of the scene to go backwards However, the PROBLEM is when I click my button to go backwards I am stuck on the first page and can't move forward.

It only checks for the original block because they all have the same instance name and depth.How would you change the depth? Moreover, how would you duplicate it and place it in a fasion that it is all in a row and it duplicates more that one time on load?

View 10 Repliesi have a question about loading an mp3 in flash. the mp3 is loading & playing fine, but if i click a button to go to a new frame, and then click another button to return to the home page, a new copy of the same audio clip is loaded over the one that is already playing, thus causing two audio files to play at the same time. it will keep loading a new copy of the audio clip every single time i return to the home page. how do i go about correcting this? the following is the code i am using:

I am making a drag and drop game using AS2 in Flash CS5 where mc items are duplicated and enlarged from a menu and can be placed anywhere on the stage to create a custom robot. Each part (arms, head, feet, etc.) is it's own mc with unique instance names. I have the drag and drop part all figured out, and I even have the duplicateMovieClip part working...
HOWEVER... Whenever I move from the current frame that an object was duplicated in, to another frame and then back, the clips dissapear one by one if you try to create a new one. Each list of menu items are in their own frames (heads, torsos, arms, etc.). As the duplicates are made, they remain on stage no matter what frame you go to and can still be dagged around, which is good, but as I said previously, they dissappear when you create a new duplicate. Not all disappear at once, only older created duplicates disappear as you bring in new duplicates.

I have a Flash website with 3 interfaces( 3 frames with movie clips inside). they have a button that goes to different loaded .html page(text). But once the back button is pushed on the web browser, it always goes back to the first frame instead of the actual last page, which might have been frame 2 or 3.

I have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.

So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:

View 1 RepliesIm making an interactive video menu system in flash cs5, Ive split each menu page into labeled sections along the timeline. I have the following code placed in a specific labeled section so it should jump to the "Directory Screen" when the 3 key is pressed:

But when it goes to the Directory Screen, if I press 3 again it shouldnt do anything but flash seems to remember the code and when I press 3 again on the "Directory Screen" it skips to the next labeled item for some reason.
