I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.[code]

A friend of mine wants to have some navigation-based mc links in frame 1, then nav to a certain frame, and then have a "back" button. When the nav mc links are clicked, the timeline skips to a given frame label.
Pretty simple.
Most of the links have the same nav mc in them, so when I nav to them, I can also access any of the other frames via something like:

The code above is in the first frame, and it is on it's own layer which spans the entirety of the frames in the project, so I would think that these function definitions would persist. But, when I go to a specific link, which does not have the nav mc in it, and then hit that particular frame's "back" button, all of my function definitions are gone, even though the nav mc links are now present, and as I mentioned the listeners should be active.
I have a flash button embedded into a css/HTML page that I want to use to navigate into a new page without opening a new window. I have a flash site that has four pages which all stretch to fit window size.As soon as I go to a gallery page that is called in via SWF, and come back, I loose my dynamic stretching of all my pages...I would like the SWF page to stretch to fit also, and its isn't.
View 2 RepliesIn the cosmicpanda update for youtube, you can go from a video page to the video creators profile page while your video is still playing in flash. Does anyone how Youtube accomplishes this? I would like to know if it's possible to keep the flash state of a site constant while moving from page to page on a site.It doesn't seem as if the flash is reloading, so I don't think that they are just saving cookies for the current video time and starting the video at that point when they refresh.I would assume that they're using ajax, but the application of this feature is really clean. The URL gets correctly changed to the users' profile page's URL. The back button still works as it should. (I can press back and forward between video page and user profile page and the video continues going clean and never drops.)

View 6 RepliesI have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.

So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:

I am having difficulty navigating to different MXML pages in my Flex application. I checked some other questions on SO about it but they seemed to be to do with tab navigation. I am trying to navigate from one MXML page to another via Actionscript code.

I want to learn actionscript properly, but it's for my final project for school and I'm a bit short with time. I'm in a design course, so they don't bother to teach us coding (design courses are lame, I should have gone with programming), but I really wanted to know how to create this effect in order to make what I had in mind.
I am creating a website using the slide presentation template. However, when I navigate to a page I have already viewed, it only shows the last frame of the slide rather than starting from frame 1 of the slide. Is there I way I can tell button to go to a slide and play from frame 1 regarless of how many times the slide has been viewed?

The preloader works perfectly the first time the slideshow is loaded but if you move to another frame and then return the loader bar loads in the top left hand corner of the stage and does not function, it just duplicates every time you navigate back to the page.

The music keeps playing and you can't stop it!Without mouse-over (music is playing at thispoint), press alt-tab and go to another application. I'm currenlty working on a Flash project where I need to navigate to certain points in an FLV video. I've worked a little with FLV before, and I've worked with cuepoints to trigger other actions/events in Flash, but what I'm looking to do here is when certain events happen in Flash (could be as simple as someone clicking on a button) I need the video to jump to a certain point.
My first thought was to set actionscript cuepoints then have the events in Flash make the video go to those cuepoints, but I can't seem to find any information how to do that. All the information on cuepoints I've been able to dig up talk about using the cuepoints in the video to trigger other actions, not vice-versa.
Im making an interactive video menu system in flash cs5, Ive split each menu page into labeled sections along the timeline. I have the following code placed in a specific labeled section so it should jump to the "Directory Screen" when the 3 key is pressed:

But when it goes to the Directory Screen, if I press 3 again it shouldnt do anything but flash seems to remember the code and when I press 3 again on the "Directory Screen" it skips to the next labeled item for some reason.
im currently trying to extend my flash video player with the option to pause the video and then use the left and right arrow keys to navigate forward and backwards frame by frame. I already figured out that I can only seek to keyframes and not every frame and that seeking always gets you to the closest keyframe automatically.
I couldnt find a method anywhere to seek to the next keyframe automatically and if I try to seek in small intervals I sometimes end up on the next frame like I intended but most of the time I get thrown back to the keyframe I started because it�s the closer one.
Recently i have visited so many video enriched flash site like this one [URL] Most of them shows video in full size. I downloaded the video using FF plugin. Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..

when i go back to menu...or go to another section....sound is still playing! why? I was thinking maybe i need to add a stop all sounds actionscript when going back to menu?
how to stop the audio playing from a video when you navigate somewhere else. However none of these solutions seem to work for me.I have my buttons on the root timeline, and all my pages are seperate movie clips which are added to the timeline with labels. I tried the

View 1 RepliesI have successfully added a Google Map Flash API using AS3 to page turning software that I use but the issue is when I upload it to the server online the Google Map stops all other swf files from working within the book when I turn a page. The map works fine online but removes two pages either side of where the map is placed. Anybody know why this is happening and any solution on how to get it working? Everything within the page turning software works fine when I test it locally so the issue is online somewhere. Maybe I could use something that stops the map from working when the page is changed?

The videos are working fine, however when I click to another page the video is still playing. I'm really pulling my hair out over how to get the video to stop every time I naviagte around my site.
View 2 RepliesI have a problem with an embedded flash video not playing to the end, it stops around half way It is a 4 minute video with sound, the FLV file is around 24Mo This is a normal server not a flash streaming server .
I have at least 10 other sites on line with a flash video on the home page and they all work fine.on the same server.only difference is that this file is about 10 Mo bigger on average.
I contacted the company where my server is hosted and they say that it looks like a java script problem but I am using flash 8 pro standard <object> no java script to detect version etc.[code]...

But, when the user clicks another button to go to a different page, the video is still playing because I hear it..How can I stop the video from playing once another button gets clicked?
View 20 RepliesI created an FLV of my movie and am using the Slideshowpro for flash component to play the FLV in my SWF. (Not the built in FLVPlayback component) The video is about 2 minutes long.At the end of the video playing I would like a button to pop up that people can press to send an email to request more information. I have no idea what the best way to go about doing this would be and I do not know AS well at all.Currently my only thought is to make my player.swf (the one that plays my video) as long as my video (appr. 2 minutes) and then fade in a button towards that people can use. This would probably work but it is probably not the most efficient way of accomplishing this.Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been searching for things like adding annotations to flash movies just as YouTube does but have not found anything so far.
