I am creating a website using the slide presentation template. However, when I navigate to a page I have already viewed, it only shows the last frame of the slide rather than starting from frame 1 of the slide. Is there I way I can tell button to go to a slide and play from frame 1 regarless of how many times the slide has been viewed?
View 6 RepliesI've created a multi frame MC for placing each of my slide out images on and have added a tween slide out MC.my onrelease is working and I've correctly switched the image frame for the relevant picture being clicked before playing the tween MC.However once the MC stops playing the image MC is reverting back to showing frame one image.Why is this happening? Also why when the slide out MC is over the smaller clicklable image the hit area is still available through the image being shown?I've ensured that the slide out MC is on the top most layer, how do I make its backgroud solid so any clickable item underneath is not available.

View 1 Repliesi want to make another mod to kirupa's xml gallery.i also noticed that on a mac when it is on the server, the image doesn't fade in unless it has already been viewed.i'm trying to make the images slide in from the right when the next button is clicked.it would be awesome if the previous one moved out of the way to the left as the next one slid in but i have no idea how to achieve that.

I'm trying to put together a sideshow using a modification of load_images.fla (a sample file supplied with Flash) combined the the 'Kirupa Menu with Slider' tutorial ([URL]) The slideshow uses a 'next' & 'previous' button to click thought the images. In addition to this I have a separate slide menu navigation (currently just numbers 1-7), with a rectangle highlighting the number of the image being viewed. I would like to move the rectangle to show which image is being viewed, when the 'next' or 'previous' button is pressed. The follow code shows the actionscript for the 'next' & 'previous' buttons....

I am trying to teach myself to create slide shows in Flash. I have Flash CS4 ProfessionalIt seems like a great tutorial. However, as I am following it, I can't make my slide show work as the tutorial demonstrates. Specificall, after creating the buttons as shown, my slide show will not stop at the next frame, but rapidly runs through all the slides. I have worked with the tutorial for several days and can not get it to work for me. View 6 RepliesI've been having a bit of a hard time understanding how to get a button which I have created in Flash to navigate to the next slide of the PowerPoint presentation which it has been added into.
I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves.
I'm using Flash MX 2004 7.0 and Powerpoint 2003.
I am creating an ebrochure, where in my timeline i have three layers: top bar (for my glossary and help buttons), nav bar (with my prev and next buttons) and the pages of the brochure.
The pages consist of each frame having a movieclip for that page, so frame one has page one movieclip, etc... and are all individual frames.
The top bar layer spans the entire set of page frames (14) as does the nav bar, but I have the glossary and help on frames after the pages end. What I am trying to do is that when someone clicks to go to the glossary from where ever they currently are, the prev button on the nav bar that is over the glossary page can take me back to the last page I was on. So, if on page 4 and click to go to glossary, prev takes me back to page 4. But if i am on page 7, prev takes me back to page 7.
Is there a way in which to track the time a Flash page is viewed? For instance, once the page loads, a timer begins. When the user moves to a different page, the timer is stopped?

I have a html page with a flash element. The flash element loads in an external swf. This works fine when I'm testing from the swf, but when I test from my HTML page the external swf doesn't seem to load into my main swf.
I have all my swf's in a folder called "swf". The HTML document is at the root level. In my main swf the actionscript for loading the external swf is:

Some how the path to the external swf gets lost. I've tried new URLRequest("soundComponent.swf"); as well. And like I said, this all works from the swf, just not when viewing from an HTML page.
I have a flash mp3 player that lives in the root on my server, I have members on my site that each have their own folders which have an xml file in them for their uploaded mp3 files, my question is, how do I get as3 to call from the player to the xml file for whichever member page is being viewed, for example, if you were viewing members/profile.php?id=1, the player which is on the profile.php page calls to the playlist.xml file in the id folder '1' I know I can use the xml load function but how would I get the members/$id in there

Frame labels with stop codes separate each gallery_mc.
Within each gallery, previous and next buttons allow page-to-page navigation.From the last page of gallery_A_mc (e.g.), I can to go to the first page of gallery_B_mc by using the following ActionScript:

I have used flash in the head of my pages and have added navigation bar within that header I have attached code to the message so you are able to see the actionscript I have used to control said navigation. The problem is this does not seem to be working as I cannot navigate from one page to another

View 6 RepliesI am working on a site, and I have an issue that I cannot resolve.

If you click on the "Issues" link, you will see a slideshow comes up.
If you click on the "Campaign" link, you will a page come up with links on the side, and a bare space to the left.
In the blank space, there is supposed to be a slideshow to come up. When I test the site on my computer, it comes up perfectly fine. But, when I load it to the server, it does not show up.
The ONLY difference in these pages is that the "Campaign" page is a scrollable page, where as the "Issues" page is not. I have tried to resize the scrollable page, and move it to the right side of the page, but it makes the text unreadable- even after resizing the box, and such. I have tried to change the slideshow into a symbol. I've tried a couple of other things, but to no avail.
I have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.

So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:

I am having difficulty navigating to different MXML pages in my Flex application. I checked some other questions on SO about it but they seemed to be to do with tab navigation. I am trying to navigate from one MXML page to another via Actionscript code.

I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.[code]

How can I stop the playback of the movie if it has not completed when navigation away from the page is invoked. I have search and am unable to find such an event using an FLVPlayback component. The preloader works perfectly the first time the slideshow is loaded but if you move to another frame and then return the loader bar loads in the top left hand corner of the stage and does not function, it just duplicates every time you navigate back to the page.

I have just done couple of banners for Dettol with BG sound, now the client wants the sound to be stopped when he navigates away to a different web pageThe issue is Mouse-over the banner and press alt-tab. The music keeps playing and you can't stop it!Without mouse-over (music is playing at thispoint), press alt-tab and go to another application. Press alt-tab and comeback to the browser and the music starts playing, even though the mouse is not over the animation for reference
View 1 Replieshow do transitions from page to page and from frame to frame all in on site, and i'm lost in the codes this is an exemple that i did in attachment, i want to be able to click in the different buttons bur a lot of thinks do not work. In the portfolio section i create a move clip that works well alone, bur when i integrate it with the home intro it didn't work properly. Hope that someone will be able to help me on that one, cause i think that this will help me a lot to understnad the basic transitions with buttons (frame to frame and page to page).

I have put 2 days into this simple problem now and I'm ready to give up and go back to AS2.I'm using CS4; publish settings AS3, 10.0. I have a button on frame 2 that should take me to frame 3 when clicked.(So far I've tried a hundred different ways but I don't get to frame 3...)Different things I tried...
