ActionScript 2.0 :: Slide In Xml Gallery - Image Doesn't Fade In Unless It Has Already Been Viewed?

i want to make another mod to kirupa's xml gallery.i also noticed that on a mac when it is on the server, the image doesn't fade in unless it has already been viewed.i'm trying to make the images slide in from the right when the next button is clicked.it would be awesome if the previous one moved out of the way to the left as the next one slid in but i have no idea how to achieve that.

I'm trying to put together a sideshow using a modification of load_images.fla (a sample file supplied with Flash) combined the the 'Kirupa Menu with Slider' tutorial ([URL]) The slideshow uses a 'next' & 'previous' button to click thought the images. In addition to this I have a separate slide menu navigation (currently just numbers 1-7), with a rectangle highlighting the number of the image being viewed. I would like to move the rectangle to show which image is being viewed, when the 'next' or 'previous' button is pressed. The follow code shows the actionscript for the 'next' & 'previous' buttons....
I have an interactive story divided into scenes. At the end of each scene a button appears. This occurs on a frame on the timeline.
There are two different buttons that might appear based on whether a prior scene has been viewed or not.
For example, there are Scene_1 and Scene_2. At the end of Scene_2 one of two buttons will appear. The buttons will be either "Go see Scene_1" or "Return to Main Menu".
If the user has already seen Scene_1, Flash will know that and automatically go to the frame in Scene_2 that contains the button "Return to Main Menu".
Conversely, if the user has not seen Scene_1, Flash will know and automatically go to the frame in Scene_2 that contains the button "Go see Scene_1".
I imagine there would be an action frame at the end of Scene_2 that will contain the as2 code to enable this action.
Perhaps something like, but probably not at all like the following:

i am trying to add extra images to the photo gallery attached. I would have thought it is easy and it seems so. I add an extra image to the gallery. I publish it. The html file shows the extra image in the gallery but the swf doesnt. driving me crazy, cant work it out?
I am creating a website using the slide presentation template. However, when I navigate to a page I have already viewed, it only shows the last frame of the slide rather than starting from frame 1 of the slide. Is there I way I can tell button to go to a slide and play from frame 1 regarless of how many times the slide has been viewed?
i am trying to fit gallery to my needs and actually i stop on problem with fading in and fading out. What i wanna do is fade in new picure on last visible picture - so last picture is still visble in backgroun when new one is fading in on same place and so on.

At the moment the time between each image is the same - 10 seconds. I'm trying to work out how to change the time so the first image loads, waits for 5 seconds, loads the second which waits 10 seconds before loading the third swf.[code]...
I used the fade class to build a fade in-out image gallery. It s quite easy and it works fine. But then they asked me to load the images randomly and thats when the thing got complicated.[code]...

I'm doing my daily homework at Flashkit, in order to see how other people do certain thint was just the other day when I downloaded the "Fade script image gallery" by Ben Durman, when I stepped into an unsusual? behaviour that I can't get to understand.It's very simple, in the gallery there are 10 pictures. Everytime you click in one number, the previous image fades out and the new image fades in. The AS code is very simple and easy to understand. However, why I can't possibly understand is that when I create a new layer with another image, the whole movie starts to statter, transitions are not smooth any longer and some transitions are not even properly executed. The more layers/pictures I add, the worse it all gets (15 pics is almost impossible to handle)Part of the original code which makes transition between pictures happen is this:

My SWF contains a combobox that functions as expected when it is viewed alone. But when this same SWF is loaded into a 'container' SWF the combobox no longer works.
The container SWF uses AS3, and the SWF that is being loaded into it uses AS2. Could this be the problem?
I followed someone's tutorial on CWD.dk and made this image gallery scroller. I have attached the file downloaded from the website. Basically, when you click the buttons, it will scroll the images. However, it doesn't ease in or out, and I would like to know how to make it ease in and out. I've been trying for the last 2 hours with no success. I'm trying to create a five image gallery, and when I try to add the load request for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th images I get an error message that says it doesn't recognize that request: see code below:

Looking for a tutorial on how to do a simple Fade In and Fade Out gallery, there doesn't need to be any buttons, just images that fade in and out one after the other, anyone know of any tutorials on this?
I have a banner (160x600) and want to have 2 images (one at a time) slide into place and then fade out (alpha=0). Image1 should slide in and then fade to alpha=0, whiling fading out, Image2 should begin to slide in and then fade out as Image1 begins to slide in... this all needs to loop.
So this is the code I have which slides in the image and fades it out but I need for the fade out to overlap the next image sliding in and loop it all.

I have 5 buttons that need to, when clicked fade the image in the background out and fade a new picture in. each of these buttons has a specific image related to it. how can i achive this smooth transition in and out for all of the buttons?
I have a tweened movie which plays on a loop. A click on the image area stops the movie and the image fades nicely from alpha 100 to alpha 0. A second click brings the image back immediately to alpha 100 and the clip continues. I would like the movie image to fade back in from alpha0 to alpha 100 before it re-starts; (the reverse of the fade out). At the moment the re-appearence of the image is a crude jump. So far my ill informed tinkering has not worked.
What I'm trying to do is have an image fade in, pause for 6 seconds and then fade out.My 6 seconds is doing something, but it's not what I want it to do and I'm not sure why. Here's my code:
I have a gallery slide that is going to be greater than 4000px in length. I have a slide movie instance that I script to slide from right to left.
This method require two slides to make them appear to loop seamlessly. So that is 8000px wide in total. I remember that Flash can only slide movie instance 3000px wide.
What other options do I have to allow for this type of slide length. Inside the slide movie instance, it contains all my images and text that are positioned differently from each other.
I have a Flash slideshow presentation that I created for my company's website, which can be seen on our frontpage.The slideshow has NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons, as well as other buttons that are used to link to other parts of our online store. The problem that I am running into is that after the first cycle, the slideshow doesn't cycle through every slide anymore! And then eventually, after about 5 minutes, the flash plugins completely crash and my browser locks up. I think I found out that it has to do with the intervals that I put in the Actionscript 2.0 coding. I didn't put any "clear intervals" into it and that's why it's screwing up, but every tutorial that I used to integrate the clearInterval function didn't work.

I'm trying to find a banner slide show or tutor to build in flash a banner similar to the one on this page [URL]. I have searched on google and can only seem to find tutor or programs that are sinlge image banner rotators.
i'm editing an actionscript 2.0 file, i have a xml files with images urls in the nodes and it works. I have a symbol with id='mysymbol' in the library and it would be great to attach 'mysymbol' over the gallery while other images slide.
[Url] This is kirupas great tutorial to make a vertical gallery along with a slide show. Normally this is fine but I find one problem here. When I clicked any thumbnail it will load the respective big image but the slide show portion is disturbed and it is not maintaining the correct numbering after clicking thumbnails. What I mean to say if I clicked No Six thumbnail it will load No Six big image and we hope that after that it will load No Seven, No Eight and so on as a part of Slide Show, but that does not happen all time there is some skipping of numbers in the big images after clicking the thumbnails.I posted the Code below. Can anyone help to make the No sequence to big image proper after clicking any of the thumbnails.
I'm fairly new to ActionScript 3.0 so forgive me if this question is easy, but I'm having issues with my portfolio slideshow. I have a few thumbnails and when you click on one the image slides in from the right. That part is fine. What I really want is for the user to click on a different random thumbnail and have the current image slide out as the new image slides in. My code so far:
I'm using Windows 7, Flash CS5, Flash Player 9, ActionScript 3.0 I created a slideshow with links on a few of the slides. My problem is that the Hand Cursor doesn't always appear on the slide with a link, and sometimes appears on a slide without a link. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here's the code I have in one of the slides with a link that doesn't show the hand cursor:

Here's the slideshow on my client's website:[URL] You'll see that the 1st slide should have a hand cursor since it has a link to it. The second slide (beading 101 ad) has a hand cursor but shouldn't since there's no code on it - no url on this one.

I'm trying to get a prototype working for a website.
What I would like to do is have five buttons at the bottom of my stage, and when I click them, an image fades AND eases in. I have this part finished so far, but the issue is that when I click another button, I want the previous image to fade/ease out before the next one fades/eases in.
