ActionScript 2.0 :: Image Gallery Load And Fade Timing

Aug 4, 2009

I'm using the following code to load external swfs over each other.

At the moment the time between each image is the same - 10 seconds. I'm trying to work out how to change the time so the first image loads, waits for 5 seconds, loads the second which waits 10 seconds before loading the third swf.[code]...

ActionScript 2.0 :: Fade Script Image Gallery Can Only Handle 10 Pictures?

Jul 9, 2005

I'm doing my daily homework at Flashkit, in order to see how other people do certain thint was just the other day when I downloaded the "Fade script image gallery" by Ben Durman, when I stepped into an unsusual? behaviour that I can't get to understand.It's very simple, in the gallery there are 10 pictures. Everytime you click in one number, the previous image fades out and the new image fades in. The AS code is very simple and easy to understand. However, why I can't possibly understand is that when I create a new layer with another image, the whole movie starts to statter, transitions are not smooth any longer and some transitions are not even properly executed. The more layers/pictures I add, the worse it all gets (15 pics is almost impossible to handle)Part of the original code which makes transition between pictures happen is this:

[AS]
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
// find alpha of new pic

ActionScript 3.0 :: Controlling Animation Timing - Services Text Fade In

Oct 27, 2009

I'm new to OOP and AS3. I'm doing my company website. When a mouse event sends you to my services page I have 4 separate blocks of text that fade in. So far I have the first 2 texts blocks fading in at the same time. I want to stagger the timing so the second block of text starts its fade in a fraction of a second later, and so on with the remaining text blocks. Below is the code I've used to fade them in at the same time.

//services text fade in
var servicesText1Tween:Tween = new Tween(servicesText1, "y", Regular.easeOut, 148.9, 140.9, 1, true);
var servicesText1Fade:Tween = new Tween(servicesText1,"alpha",Regular.easeIn,0,1,2,t rue);
var servicesText2Tween:Tween = new Tween(servicesText2, "y", Regular.easeOut, 244.7, 236.7, 1, true);
var servicesText2Fade:Tween = new Tween(servicesText2,"alpha",Regular.easeIn,0,1,2,t rue);

ActionScript 2.0 :: Image Gallery: Replacing Xml To Load New Image Set?

Oct 7, 2010

I would like to be able to add the functionality of being able to load different galleries from a menu without loading a new mc with gallery inside it. I managed to botch the file up pretty good on my own, and was wondering if there is a ready answer nearby.So I'm thinking have but1, but2 and but3, with a seperate xml file for each. What would you recommend for a smooth way to swap the the xml files to the gallery, and load the first image of the new xml file? Also, can it be done with one big ol' xml file while keeping the galleries seperate? It's not necessary, but could be handy, and save some loading.It would also be interesting to apply the same principle to the resizing script that Scotty has in that big Resizing thread, just a thought.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Image Gallery Using XML To Load Thumbnails And Images

Mar 5, 2008

I am building a website with an image gallery using XML to load thumbnails and images.

Firstly, I was going to try to make the thumbnails act like buttons, so the mouse cursor would change to a little pointing finger like it does in buttonmode but i could not get this to work.

Secondly, I also wanted the alpha properties of the other buttons to reduce to about 0.75 to highlight the selected thumnail that would stay at its full alpha value of 1. Yet again i could not get this to work either.Can you build this type of functionality into the imported xml data or am I just kidding myself here?

Load Image Gallery (separate Swf) On Top Of Darkened Webpage

Nov 11, 2009

I've seen this done on many sites (it even happens on here when attaching links), where the screen darkens and an image gallery or form loads.

My question is, can this be done through Flash, but more importantly how to load a swf file this way. I noticed that the new Nike Running site has done it for their login functionality, where it loads the login box on a darkend screen, not sure whether the actual login is Flash but it's opened from within Flash.

Actionscript 3.0 :: Dynamically Load In .png Files As Thumbnails For An Image Gallery?

Nov 19, 2010

I'm developing an app that needs to dynamically load in .png files as thumbnails for an image gallery. I have studied up on the bitmapData.hitTest() method for being able to setup an alpha test in order work around the .png bounding box issue, but have a problem.

I get an as3 error 2005, which OK I can understand in some cases, but it is pointing to a parameter that makes no sense at all. Here's the error:

ArgumentError: Error #2005: Parameter 0 is of the incorrect type. Should be type BitmapData.

Flash Load Timing With Shared Libraries?

Jun 30, 2010

I've started using Shared Libraries and this subject peaked my interest... does Flash still have load timing issues with Shared Libraries? I found a few site online that mention that your Flash project will load but if it didn't have time to load your Shared Library, it simply won't load it and you are out of luck. Is this still true with the latest version of Flash? If so, how do I preload the library to make sure it doesn't happen?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Modify Fade In - Movie Image To Fade Back In From Alpha0 To Alpha 100 Before It Re-starts

Feb 4, 2010

I have a tweened movie which plays on a loop. A click on the image area stops the movie and the image fades nicely from alpha 100 to alpha 0. A second click brings the image back immediately to alpha 100 and the clip continues. I would like the movie image to fade back in from alpha0 to alpha 100 before it re-starts; (the reverse of the fade out). At the moment the re-appearence of the image is a crude jump. So far my ill informed tinkering has not worked.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Alpha Tween - Movieclip Containing The FLV Component To Load The Right File - Fade In And When The Video Ends - Fade Out

I simply have one FLVPlayback component in the background and a movieclip on the layer above with an FLVPlayback component inside it. The first FLV component is constantly looping a five-second video. So all I need is for the movieclip containing the second FLV component to load the right file, fade in, and when the video ends, fade out. Absolutely all of that works... apart from the fading in. What I noticed was that my movieclip was fading in correctly, but the FLVPlayback component was empty and transparent until the fade had finished - then it played the clip. Here's my code, which gets called at random intervals:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Runtime Shared Library Load Timing?

Mar 22, 2010

I think I basically get runtime shared libraries, but I have some very specific questions which I have not been able to find answers for anywhere:

1) When you load swf "A" that references a runtime shared library swf, does the entire runtime shared library swf also immediately load? (true/false)

2) When swf "A" instantiates a symbol that is linked to be imported from the runtime shared library, does the entire runtime shared library swf load then? (true/false)

3) When swf "A" instantiates a symbol that is linked to be imported from the runtime shared library, does only that specific symbol load? (true/false)

My problem is, if I put all my bitmaps in swf "A", then it takes a really long time to load. I'm wondering, if I put all my bitmaps in a runtime shared library, and link the symbols in swf "A" to the runtime shared library, then will swf "A" load fast (because the runtime shared library is not loaded)? And when I instantiate a linked symbol, will it also load fast (because the entire runtime shared library is not loaded)?

Xml :: Flash Games - Prepare Swf Files Like An Image Gallery And Receive XML Commands To Load It?

Jan 13, 2010

I know Flash developers have done Kiosks and renovated arcade games. "Come on, we see Flash everywhere."Can I prepare my swf files like an image gallery and receive XML commands to load it? Where do I start? Flash/After Effects skills have got me through so far,

Criteria

TCP/IP socket connection
Flash package
XML commands load swf file in to a container

How do I prepare my Flash files and XML sheet to receive commands "any sample out there"?What about e.data,urlLoad ,xmlSocket Class, XMLCP/IP XML socket connection to load ?Is binary or XML method better for loading and reloading swf files?Do I need Red5 or a media server?
