i downloaded a preloader from flashkit. works great on one of my movies, but on another one, it dont stops on the preloader frame. i dont understand cause it should go to the next scene when 100% is loaded but it just shows a black page.i dont understand cause the preloader scene is identical and it just sends you to scene 1 when fully loaded..

Now I have some problems with flash file.When we put the flash in asp we set the path of plugins : pluginspage="http:[url]......when we upgrade latest version of flash player (10.3.183.5), it works for the most of the flash file in my application but there is one specific flash that doesn't work.It only shows the blank black screen.

It works fine when i test it locally. but when I upload it and test it from a remote server, 5 black dots in a row cycle a few times before the preloader starts. this also will happen when I simulate download locally. does anyone know what these 5 black dots are

The problem is preloader shows only when the file is completely loaded. How can I appear the progress preloader for the main file.
I making an App and atm it shows a 3-5 sec black screen at the start. So I made an external swf preloader, but the textfield won't update, it just shows 100% and after a while the main program jumps in view.

If you click on the "Issues" link, you will see a slideshow comes up.
If you click on the "Campaign" link, you will a page come up with links on the side, and a bare space to the left.
In the blank space, there is supposed to be a slideshow to come up. When I test the site on my computer, it comes up perfectly fine. But, when I load it to the server, it does not show up.
The ONLY difference in these pages is that the "Campaign" page is a scrollable page, where as the "Issues" page is not. I have tried to resize the scrollable page, and move it to the right side of the page, but it makes the text unreadable- even after resizing the box, and such. I have tried to change the slideshow into a symbol. I've tried a couple of other things, but to no avail.
How can I make a preloader that shows percentage/bar for a movie loaded in with LoadMovie?
I've tried using a normal preloader (the one from Kirupa) in the "to load" movie, but it doesn't work.
Is there a way to have the preloader assess how big the movie to load is, how a bar etc. and have the movie hidden until 100% is loaded (as seen on the bar)?

I have assembled a preloader using the method from this site, everything seem to work except for one problem My site supposed to start from a black background and the image fading in. However once I placed the preloader the image dose not fade in but appears right away to the full strength after the preloader gone to 100% Looks like it jumps to a few frames after the first frame of the main swf file. However, when I navigate to a page I have already viewed, it only shows the last frame of the slide rather than starting from frame 1 of the slide. Is there I way I can tell button to go to a slide and play from frame 1 regarless of how many times the slide has been viewed?
View 6 RepliesI just tested out my site in Firefox and IE. Everything works the way I want it to in Firefox but in IE I'm having trouble. When I click on a button my preloader shows up but doesn't stop to load the content, it plays straight through and then my movie pops up. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I've never encountered this problem before.

how I can make a 95% black MC cover everything on the website page (full screen onResize) so I can present an externally loaded image by itself? I have seen this done before in a few flash portfolio websites but I can't seem to find the solution on any previous thread. I may have missed some threads. is there an actionscript that can do all of the above without having to resize an MC?
View 4 RepliesI can still create the video and the files and it all works in dreamweaver when I preview in iexplore. When I put the files and the page into the host server it shows the skin and no video. If my paths are wrong I do not know where to check them. I need help MY whole career is on hold until I know how to do this like clockwork/ I need step by step with creating and changing paths and uploading using cpanel or dreamweaver. getting the files made and uploaded is easy part. I have been here before and cheers to the help. I really need an in depth answer about how to do this from start to finish. I have looked at all tutorials and they all make it seem so easy but dont show anything on paths. If my video works in dreamweaver but not online live what is wrong? I am lost and on edge lost many weeks of sleep over this simple process.

View 1 RepliesI've been using Flash for a couple of years now... I use it mostly for designing fashion graphics (!!!). I know that Illustrator is excellent for creating artwork, I export Flash files as AI ones, but encounter numerous errors while opening such files in Illustrator. I think the problem is with the Color settings. Flash uses RGB, and CMYK is Illustrator's default settings. When I try to export a graphic symbol (with layers, groups of objects and simple shapes) from Flash Professional as an AI file, it always exports as Illustrator 6.0 version (wonder why)...
Then I try to open this file in Illustrator CS2 and always get a "BG" error message which is similar to this one:
Can't open illustration. The illustration doesn't have the correct number of operands for an operator.
Offending operator: "Bg"

So after getting such a message and pressing "OK" there are 2 possible results:
1. The program (Illustrator CS2) opens a blank artboard (stage) with absolutely NO objects or symbols on it.
2. The program opens an incomplete graphic on the artboard (stage) with many missing objects and shapes (say, if I exported a graphic with 2 layers, the top layer will be missing).
Unfortunately, these are the most common results....Though a few days ago I hkept several AI files open and tried to export an AI file made in Flash. To my greatest surprise Illustrator could open the file with absolutely everything I exported from Flash! Except for Bitmap fills, of course....But everything else was just perfect! I was amazed no end! What settings should I have in order to be able to open AI files exported from Flash? If I got it once, it means it is possible to open such files... I have to use Illustrator more often now, and I need my artwork to be covered to AI files without significant modifications or corrections... Is it doable?
What does this mean. I go to see certain movies on certain sites, like news sites and a window pops up showing this error. Both on Firefox and IE[code]...

All I want to have is a page listing shows that sorts them according to date and also when the show date has passed drops that entry from view.I can do this easily enough with a database and php but want to learn how to do it in actionscript. Step two was to see if it worked on the web, and it didn't. I received Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed. ran it from my desktop, it worked, posted it to the web, and the error message was gone, but the swf seemingly didn't run. If you were a visitor to my site, then you wouldn't know a swf existed on my home page.
I used the code below to make a preloader and it works fine when I try it locally, but gives me the following error when I try to use it in a website: "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found." The preloader is a swf that pulls in another swf after it loads. Also when I use the swf that the preloader is pulling in, it also works.

I am developing a photo gallery using the UILoader to load external (larger resolution) images after the thumbnail is clicked on. It appears everything is working when I test the movie, except I receive this error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
Again the loader shows, and the picture loads when it is done, I'm just not sure about that error message. The action script for clicking on the thumbnail is:

I'm running FMS 4 Dev on my win XP SP3 machine, also running flash cs5 professional on same machine. I get the server admin screen to come up and it says it's running. I'm using a tut book on FMS and trying to run the first script in the book. It's long but I'll add the script at the bottom so you can see what i'm doing. In the server app folder I placed another folder called vid2 with nothing in it just like the book told me to do. I wrote the script line for line out of the book. When I test my movie it lays out my video window and buttons. It diplays my ugly mug on the screen. when I press the record button it does nothing. when i press the stop button the output window shows me an error of "#1009 can't access properties or methods of a null object". I assume that this is telling me I do not have a net connection.
when I types in the example it had an IP address in the code.How do I know the correct IP addy to my dev server? If I'm doing development and testing on the same machine do I even need to know this? 2) How will what I'm doing now differ from leasing space from an FMS provider?
