View 1 RepliesI have a video player that doesnt have "seek from unloaded time" functionality. I want to add it now, but i am having headaches. I sipmly load video like this; stream.play("vidurl.flv"); (pseudo streaming)
Server side is ready. I can call videos like videourl.flv?start=xxx but cant play them in player cuz video comes without metadata
To sum up;
1. stream.play("vidurl.flv"); works, video plays
2. user clicks to seek bar. on unloaded part. i get the position and convert it to seconds
stream.play("vidurl.flv?start=10"); doesnt work! no metadata what i should do after?
I'm building a video player here[url]...
It's streaming RTMP, and I'm trying to get my video to seek correctly if the user clicks on the groove bar (gray bar under the green progress bar) Currently it does not seek and gives me a NaN on my duration variable and an error on my progress bar width variable, which is puzzling me.
For some reason my videoDuration variable is coming up as NaN when used inside of my seeker function, also I'm getting a null object reference error when trying to trace out playerCntrls.progressTotalW which is the total width of the groove bar[code]...
How can I convert the hslider data format from decimal into an H:M:S?
View 1 RepliesI'am looking for a flv/video player which allow to seek for not loaded part of the video,just like on youtube.
View 1 Repliesimplement a seek bar for a video player. I know some basics about that. If possible send me any tutorials for that.
View 2 RepliesI am creating a custom flash video player for my friend's wife's surprise 40th birthday party. I was progressing through and everything was working fine, but now the seekbar and volume bar handles are completely gone. I was working on doing some buttons to load each video segment when I realized the missing handles. My actionscript is below:
import fl.video.*;
var flvPlayer:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback();addChild(flvPlayer);
flvPlayer.playButton = playbtn; flvPlayer.pauseButton = pausebtn; flvPlayer.seekBar =

I am using progressive download to play video files in a video player. When I seek to a point that has not downloaded yet the video player freezes. The player enters the seeking state and stops playing.Clicking the play and pause buttons has no effect. The video player comes out of the seeking state and resumes playing only when the video file has completely downloaded. How do I implement the functionality where the player when seeked to a point that has not downloaded simply seeks back to the amount that has downloaded.
View 1 RepliesI have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
I have a large project built in as3. Part of its main functionality is to load and unload various as2 swfs. The problem is that the memory ins't free up once they are unloaded.
I have access to the as2 swfs code base and destroyed all objects, stopped and killed timers, listeners, removed from stage, destroyed all the MovieClip.protoypes that were created. They look to be clean as far as the AS2 debugger show no remnants of the object after the destroy function is run. In AS3 i've closed the local connection, cleaned all references/listeners to the AVM1Movie and ran Loader.unloadAndStop(). The trace out in flex says the swf was unloaded but looking at windows task manager the memory usage never drops to when it was before the as2 swf was loaded. Each as2 swf can take up to 80 megs each time it's run so memory gets eaten up fast and loading and unloading a few as2 files.
At this point if the AS2 swfs are unloaded the only thing that I can assume that could be left is MovieClip.prototype and/or _global, _root variables add during the AS2's run time. But i've gone through those and can't find anything else that might be sticking. Has anyone ever seen problems before with the AVM1 machine not freeing up its memory?
I just want to know, howto add time duration and time ellapse on a flash video player.
View 1 RepliesHas anyone seen a Flash video player out there that will load and play two videos at the same time, such as for comparing videos? A potential client is looking for something along the lines of this. I've not been able to locate anything out there,and I'm wondering if there's a usability reason for this...Obviously, you wouldn't want the audio playing for both at the same time, and the bandwidth issue for something like this might be a concern too. My feeling is that you wouldn't want to restrict a user to just playing both videos at once, but give them the option to play them separately or at the same time, with controls for each audio and playback.
View 1 RepliesOn a streaming video, how do i allow for clicking to an unloaded part of the flv player timeline, and have the player start downloading from that point on?
View 1 RepliesIf you load up a FLVPlayback component in Flash or VideoDisplay in Flex and try to seek to a specific location or set playheadTime to a specific location, the movie always rounds up or down by very large amountsIn flash, drag a FLVPlayback component to stage and set source to Then try to video.seek(6) or video.playheadTime = 6;It will just goto 10. Likewise if you use their built in scrubber the only intervals are 0, 5, or 10. So at most the scrubbing frame you see is 3Here is an example of flex with the same result.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" xmlns:media="com.synapsegroup.media.*">

I want to develop a player , which shows images.URL...but I am so much confused about the progress bar or scrubber which can be moved or how to arrange with respect to time just like VIDEO Player every image will have to play 10 sec , so if 20 images , so there will be 200 sec.so how i should control this time bar or even when user move the scrubber, it moves to exact image with respect to time
View 3 RepliesI am loading swf's that have an flv embedded on the timeline. When the user selects from the menu I unload the swf and load another. This is working fine, but the audio from the first swf's video keeps playing. How can I kill this first videos audio track?
View 3 RepliesI'm creating an eLearning interface to load other multimedia rich SWF contents. As from the title, I do unloadAndStop() the multimedia rich SWF and the SWF disappeared from the stage. However, video content from the unloaded SWF were still playing.
According to Adobe:
Code:
As a result, the following occurs for the child SWF file and the child SWF file's display list:
Sounds are stopped.
Stage event listeners are removed.
Event listeners for enterFrame, frameConstructed, exitFrame, activate and deactivate are removed.
Timers are stopped.
Camera and Microphone instances are detached
MovieClips are stopped.
The 2nd problem I face will be, after unLoadAndStop() my parent font type also change to "Times New Romans" although I have embedded the the font type to the flash. I have to reload the parent to get back the design font type.
Is the Flash Video (or Flex VideoDisplay) component capable of seeking to an exact moment in a video?It seems to always 'snap' to keyframes (which is understandable). I'm just wondering if there are any mechanisms in the video classes for seeking to exact frames, ie it should do the translation from keyframe to specific frame in the background rather than having to actually play the video forward to the desired frame.This is not a streaming file and has nothing to do with buffering. The player is just downloading a movie file from the web and playing it from memory.
View 1 RepliesI've been trying for hours to add the elapsed time to a dynamic text field using a video player.
The Flash website has code similar to this:
Select all//Get playhead time
var listenerObject:Object = new Object();
listenerObject.playheadUpdate = function(eventObject:Object):Void {
trace(ns.state + ": playhead time is: " + eventObject.playheadTime);
controls.elapsed = Math.round(eventObject.playheadTime);
};
ns.addEventListener("playheadUpdate", listenerObject);
But that was designed for an FLVPlayback component and therefore does not work.
I built an MP3 player a couple years back in AS2. I have tried various tutorials and can't seem to implement a basic seek bar. I am hoping for something with a draggable scrubber bar.I have attached the .as file, and stripped out all my failed seek bar code. It's currently published to work with Flash Player 8, and works fine - except for no seek bar.
View 2 RepliesI know seeking to a cue point is known to be inaccurate at times so I'm wondering if the accuracy of seeking to time and secs better. So far I've seen no true difference.
View 12 RepliesNow i am doing a FLV Player. But how to make a seek bar for that.?
View 5 RepliesI want to make seek bar in my MP3 Player.
View 1 RepliesThe problem is that I have an fla video player that uses the netstream class in order to pull a stream (mp4 h264), I've tried this with a few different mp4 files and they all behave the same..Basically, when I goto seek to a position, say 10 seconds into a 300 second mp4, the movie buffer goes blank and my readout of the current time I can see climbing from around 7 seconds and keeps going all the way to the end.. almost as if the seek command is trying to find a keyframe where it can resume from..I'm using http (not rtmp), and thus streaming directly from naive http.After awhile I decided to use the FLVPlayback component, set the source to the same, and it read in some initial metadata.. when I try the movie with the FLVPlayback component I can pause, seek resume to any position without problem, at first I was thinking the problem might have been http related but if the FLVPlayback component works then I'm a little stuck..Also note that I've checked the seekpoints of the movies and there are TONS of them, so the seek command should be able to find a nearby seekpoint to where I suggest.
View 7 RepliesI have a custom video player I've built and have been adding a seek function to it lately. I ran into an issue where seeking backward in the timeline stalled my timecode. I could seek forward and my timecode updated as expected, but seeking backward, my timecode would stall at the current time before the seek was requested. I run a function on netStream.time() in order to set my timecode.
[Code]....
I've been toying around with this RepublicOfCode tutorial and changed a few things here and there.For example, I wanted a play/pause button in stead of seperate buttons. And I wanted a stop button so people can actually stop the music.Now here lies the problem, play/pause works BUT after I've stopped the music, the music will start again with the play button but it wont pause, it will just start the song again and again and again... On a side note, I wanna try to add a volume slider, seek bar, time remaining, and possible (if i can figure it out, probably also has to do with the XML) a playlist.[code]
View 5 RepliesI have used the Dvrcast application with FLVPlayback 2.5.0.26 for playing the dvr video.I have successfully achieved the dvr functionality with that application but i don't know how to update the seekbar max time (ex: while I play the video it the video length say for example 3min after i play the video it is keep on increasing the length since its dvr publishing will continue in other hand).It shows the max time of video when I enter to play the video not the current length of the video. I need the help to achieve this function.
View 12 Repliesi am working in Flash AS2. still now i want one flv video play back with seek bar control animation script (not a Flvplayback component).
View 0 RepliesDoes anyone know of any tutorials that explain how to make a seek bar with a handle that will be linked to the main timeline, so that when you move the handle the animation will move too, e.g. if you drag the handle to the centre of the bar then it will skip to the middle of the animation?
I currently have a handle that move on the x axis with in a set boundary, but not sure how to link it to the main timeline.
