Actionscript 3.0 :: Proportions Work Fine But Movie Doesn't Start?

I have an flv loaded externally. I've added it to a movieclip and want it to fill the stage as my background and scale proportionally. The proportions work fine and the movie seems to scale fine. My problem is the movie doesn't start right away. It shows blank until I resize the browser then it shows up fine.Here is the code:

i've a problem with a 3D animation of a dynamic textF (a textfiled nested in a MC). Everything goes fine, but the quality of the text, at the end of the animation, slow really down. It's like the AAliasing doesn't work fine (it's setted on "Antialising for animation", but if i use anyone else, the result doesn't change).

trying to create a character selection screen type thing works fine on my computer but when i load it to internet characters dont load up dont understand why characters and profile images are external image files so i think that reason why its not working is because the swf is trying to display the image before its properly loaded up
so im thinking perhaps if i add some sort of bytes total/bytes loaded script where its trying to load up and display the image it will check if the image is fully loaded before it tries to display the image think that will work ... if that's what the issue is
but not certain.

I have run across a strange problem. When I load products2.swf by itself, I can call the two "copy" files and everything works. When I open 0342.swf (the index page), I can switch between the home and products2 pages, but I can't view the "copy" pages.I'm guessing there may be some sort of conflict with variable names, but I have been messing with it for most of today.I have uploaded all of the FLA files to here:[url]....
If you make an swf file out of each of the attached items, and open the 0342 file, you will see what is supposed to be happening.

Greetings. I've been doing this tutorial. [URL] And worked pretty well. In order to adapt to my needs i made it a movie with a drag and drop parameter to be loaded in another movie (with loadMovie or loadMovieNum). The problem is than the movie loads, drags but doesnt drops. Even i tried with the example movie and nothing happens.

on the 1st i have some XML code
in the 2nd i read the XML and send to the 3rd frame and play a FLV movie. when the FLV movie ends, if goes back to the 2nd frame to "know" what is the next movie and goes again to the 3rd frame.
When i export everything is OK, when i publish and use the Mac Projector it is ok. But if i use the Fullscreen Mode, when the movie end's the Movie doesnt go back to the 2nd frame...

I created a custom google voice callback swf so someone could put in their phone number, and google voice will call them and connect them to me (essentially calling me). Everything works fine when i run it from my computer, but when I put it online it doesn't work.
The way it works is you put in your own phone number and name, then click call, and it rings the phone of the phone number you put in. This doesn't happen when accessing it from online though.

I have created a main swf file which holds a movie container which other swf's load into. One of the sections has a form in it. When I preview this section on its own the form works, but when I preview through the main swf file (or online) the text fields cannot be typed into. How can I fix this? This is just plain weird to me.This is part of a loop that creates text fields. The movie clip is of course named numholder_mc.
Code:
numholder_mc.createTextField("textfield"+i,i,200,0,100,20);
If I create an empty movie clip "manually" on the stage and instance name it numholder_mc, then this code does not work.
However, if create an empty movie clip using actionscript, it works just fine!

Anyone have any ideas on this one? Its just weird.

I have a simple text fade movie clip that will "play" but won't work when I "Test Movie." What am I missing? I don't regularly use Flash as of yet, and have been successful before, but this is ridiculous - and I know I'm probably missing something very simple.

[MX] I'm loading an infinitly scrolling swf into my main swf. When it loads however it doesn't work properly, because all the pixel values in the origonal code do not match for its location in the main movie. I know I can change the AS with new value and make it work, but I am wondering if there is another way. I'd like to be able to move it around and always have it work without changing it. Is there a way I can have the loaded swf retain its OWN origonal x,y cords? or some other method of doing this?

I have a menu which attach movie clips from the library, when I first probed the preloader there were not any linked movie clips, neither png files (because each button in the menu attach a picture which is inside the movie clip) now that I have put the movie clips in the library the preloader doesn't work and I don't know why.

I am working on an interactive map. When you roll over a dot on the map a slide moves into view. I've got this working great but when I add script for the roll out the whole movie just repeats over and over and the button doesn't work at all. I've pasted my code below.

I have made a simple site with some simple transitions. each button on my site loads in an external swf file into an empty movie clip.
One of these swf files is a guestbook which works when i dont load it into the empty clip and test it alone on my server (sending in the guestbook swf, html, php, and empty text file)
Now then, when i load in the guestbook into the main swf, nothing happens on the server when I test it - I am lost and now come to you people for advice. It obviously has something to do with being loaded into an empty movie clip that is causing conflict.

I tryed to do this several times, and it didn't worked. The main problem is that if I test simulate the movie (56Kb) the preloader doesn't work. First it loads the entire file, then it loads the preloader which is not needed then, and the 2nd scene after that.

i've created two textarea fields that pull data from a textfile in the same directory and formats it with CSS. it tests fine on my computer, but when i upload it, it doesn't show the txt file contents. It's just blank. I've been looking around everywhere to try and find a solution, but i can't seem to find anything. Also, the scrollbar on the side of the textarea doesn't load in IE but loads in firefox.

i was trying to make a movie clip visible (it starts invisible), than invisible again. It gets visible, but i could't make it turn invisible again! Same thing happened with buttonMode propertie. I applied both only for movieClips and buttons, have no idea what is happening.

Everything, including swapDepths, but one thing: the gotoAndStop command.For some reason, when I tested the movie clip (containing a button) out, it removed the splat+score and finger_mc movie clips, as well as stoped the background music from playing. I have a MovieClip with two buttons inside of it (bottom portion) When I mouse over the MovieClip - it rises up, to revewl the buttons. My problem is, when I mouse over the buttons, the movie clip drops back down. The buttons don't have any actions upplied to them... It acts as though buttons were standing between the cursor and the movie clip... The idea is to hower over the movie clip > reveal the buttons > either move mouse away or click on one of the buttons. However, the movie clip closes when I touch either one of the buttons. Below is the code and thnks a bunch ahead of time:

I have decided to attempt making my sisters website. I have used an XML gallery in the website and all works well when viewing the website just in flash, .fla or the .swf file. My problem is, when i come to put it into dreamweaver ready to upload and I preview it in Firefox, or any other broswer, all the pages work but no the XML gallery? Im gettin very stressed out now as all my file routesetc are correct?I have googled the problem and all I have found out is that it could be something to do with security?Does anybody know how to resolve this problem

i am using flash 8 professional and making my portfolio site using xml with flash. when you click the red buttons on the right, thumbnails appear on the left (and when you click those, more thumbnails appear, and then you click those and the image appears.) on my machine it works properly, BUT when i upload it, the thumbnails appear and then erase themselves (all except the first two). it's inconsistent and totally weird. i changed some of the code, tried messing with the publishing settings, and re-uploaded and nothing changed. a friend who works at an actionscript company said it doenst make sense that it works differently on my machine than online. she also confirmed that the way i embedded the swf in the html is correct
