I wanted to make a book with flash where each page is a frame in the file. I have successfully made the next page and previous page buttons, but I was wondering how to get started on making an input field that lets users put page numbers that go to the specific page / frame.

For Example:Name:_____Age:_____BOY/GIRL:____and then for example if the user decided to Enter: (Cooper, 7, Boy) the story would add those variables, so it might say:"Once upon a time, there as a 7 year old boy named Cooper, who lived in flying shoe."Ideally, I would want to be able to have the text auto format so that it looks like a seamless paragraph, no odd line breaks or spacing issues no matter how long the name they entered was, so for example if they entered "Cooper" or "Cooper William Johnson III", either way the text would still flow correctly

On frame 1, the user inputs data into the input text boxes and hit's the "calculate" button (also located on page 1).The calculations are displayed in the dynamic text fields on frame 1but aren't appearing on frames 2 and 3. Anyone know how to get the calcs to show up on frames other than where the calculation button is located?

When I try to submit the information from my new flash website it does not work and when I did a trace on the application all of my variables seem to be working correctly but not in the same sequence as I had added them to the Actionscript. The only other difference on the trace is at the end of the correct post I get the following fields.

I have a form that works fine except that when trying to navigate through input text fields with tab it would skip the last input text field and go to the submit button. So I used this to fix the problem: name.tabIndex = 1; and so forth. Now that problem is fix but I have a new problem. The file "flippingbook.swf" references a js file which points to a jpeg which is then displayed on the book's page. The jpeg can be substituted for a swf file. I would like to create a table of contents swf file (lets call it "table.swf") I would like to click a button on "table.swf" that would make "flippingbook.swf" go from page 1 to page 4, etc.

but the cursor not set to initial position in text box it consider "" as "space" and cursor will display after one space only, i need that cursor again move to starting position..
I have a flipping book component. It come with the basic page turning function where the user can turn each page manually. Because there are many chapters,I created buttons under the pages so that the user can navigate directly to specific pages. I can not find and create the codeto attach to each button to make the pages flip directly to the indicated page? The component uses AS2,Here is main code that appears at frame 1.

I have successfully added a Google Map Flash API using AS3 to page turning software that I use but the issue is when I upload it to the server online the Google Map stops all other swf files from working within the book when I turn a page. The map works fine online but removes two pages either side of where the map is placed. Anybody know why this is happening and any solution on how to get it working? Everything within the page turning software works fine when I test it locally so the issue is online somewhere. Maybe I could use something that stops the map from working when the page is changed?

View 14 RepliesWhen a user visits my page, they currently have to click inside a textfield within the movie to type in an ID number.How easy is it to make the movie 'live' so they don't have to click on the swf file itself Once this is sorted, I am ok with making the keyboard input populate my textfield as that already works, I am just trying to make the mouseclick on the movie non-existent. Apparently, ADA means they don't want the mouse click event to activate the movie.

So, I have two textfields and one button. Whenever I type a set message into one of the textfields and then press the button, I want the other textfield to return another set message. Probably the trickier part: this should work both ways.
I have a form for signing up for a email newsletter, requesting name, phone number, email, etc. However, for some reason, it won't allow me to enter "3" "4" or the "@" symbol in any of the textfields. You can see how that could be a problem.I'm working with a preexisting site, build by someone else. The SWF on the site doesn't have this problem, (it works fine) but when I create a new SWF from the FLA they got from the previous designer, I have these problems, even before I made any changes.
The site was built with something newer than Flash 8 (I couldn't open it with Flash 8), but older than CS5 (when I save a new version of the FLA, it tells me it will no longer be compatible with older versions of Flash) Could this be caused by that?

I am embarrassed to admit that I am still working in Flash 6. But I am. I do not have the ability to upgrade at this point. I have created a contact form and all is working, but the input text is invisible to the end user. Oddly, anything that is typed is sent ok, they just can't see anything they are typing!

View 15 RepliesThis is about fill in the blanks in flash 8 as2. In this i used input text fields and three buttons.In first frame i used multiple input text fields and a submit button. After filling all the blanks we click on submit button then in the second frame we will show the result like if the blank is correct it should change the color to green and if it is wrong it should change to red.and in the frame i have check button when we click on it will display all the answers. And when we click on analyse button we have to display the answer which the user types and the correct answers.And my problem is when we click on submit there is no difference in the blanks color all are in black only.
