CS4 :: Flash Quits When Application Closes
Aug 26, 2009I am running Flash CS4 ver10.0. I noticed that every time I close the Flash application, the application quits.

Feb 23, 2010I hope someone here can help me figure out why my Flash CS4 on a Mac 10.6.2 machine crashes unexpectedly every time I open a file. (I have posted the entire crash log below) The program will open, and even stay open when I choose a .fla file for about 5-10 seconds and then CRASH every time. For what it's worth, all my other design collection programs work fine.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalled the Flash app., but it didn't do anything. I have also tried deleting all preference files and application support files in my user, and the problem persists.Does anyone have any ideas? I have a Flash job to get out and no way to work on it![code]

Oct 21, 2010I'm using a playback control that is giving me problems. The only thing that I'm using is a play/pause buttons and the time scrubber. I found this code on a website. Now, when I preview the swf, it plays fine, but when the video starts playing, the screen turns black and flash quits automatically.
This is the Error that I'm getting:

I downloaded the trialversion and I installed it too but after running the Flash.exe it closes immediately without any error message.

Is there a method of knowing when a person abruptly leaves the video session by closing the window, back button, address bar, etc?Or do i need to make an external interface call from JavaScript to Flash using something like onunload & onbeforeunload events?I am guessing that it is the later, but wanted to see if there was a method of keeping all my code inside of AS3.

Feb 4, 2012I have a simple AIR app that listens on a socket using the SocketServer class.I have the following code when I first start up the app:

However I find that if I try to test my movie after making some quick changes, I can't bind to the same address:port. I'm guessing that somehow that the port is still occupied. I get a "Operation attempted on invalid socket" error.But if I wait a bit and then test my movie, I can bind to the address:port. The close() is not taking affect. Can I try to close() this when the user decides to exit the app? Is there some sort of event that allows me to do something before the app quits?

I'm not really a coder and have to rely on finding bits online that I can tweak... after many hours I have fixed the pdf opening problem by using the fscommand method, but unfortunately when the pdf file is closed, my presentation (that was running fullscreen) has minimised itself to a window 100% to the original stage size!

Professional :: Full Screen Player Crashes/Quits In Win Server 2003
Jan 15, 2010I have an application that runs as a projector and is meant to run full screen in a kiosk. However, when the app is expanded to full screen it crashes and I get an error message of:
Faulting application test.exe, version 10.0.2.54, faulting module test.exe, version 10.0.2.54, fault address 0x0015187e. Event ID: 1000
If I run it in a web browser and try to go full screen the same thing happens. I've been all over the web and haven't found anything. Have uninstalled virus software thinking it might be a problem.

Feb 4, 2011I have an AIR app that gets bundled with XML files that the app needs. These get put into the APP Storage Directory, of course. Works great. But when I install a new version ( which includes new XML files) , the new files don't get added or overwrite the ones from the previous version. It seems that if that directory is there from a previous install, the installer will ignore the part where it moves included files.

Aug 6, 2003I need to make my Flash application create a connection to a remote application and have the remote application send periodic updates to my Flash animation. The remote app is written in VB 6, and does not support XML sockets. However, I don't need the ability to send or receive XML since I am going to be overriding the onLoad() event anyway.
Or maybe I do need that ability... I'm having trouble getting my onLoad() event to trigger. Right now I'm just testing the onLoad event like this:

So, basically I'm trying to find out how I can format the data I'm sending it so that the onLoad() event triggers. I've read that the XMLSocket object listens for the Null byte, so perhaps the data I'm sending it doesn't terminate properly. I need a persistent connection from Flash to the VB app because the VB app will be the one initiating the updates to the Flash application. Is the XMLSocket the way to go here, or is there another class of objects that I'm missing?

Then I have other users that connect and then can connect to these random ids. When users click disconnect i have the id taken out of the table that way when other people want to connect they dont get ids that arent active. is it possible that when a window is closed to have it run a php script? so i can get it to clear their user id?
