CS5 :: Save After "Edit In PS"?
May 17, 2010So I choose "Edit in Photoshop CS5" edit the stuff I want but what do I do after I'm done? I tried saving it but it doesn't do anything in Flash I don't see the changes.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Save Date With The Ability To Edit Later
Sep 28, 2007I have an app that allows you to save data into a database and gives you the ability to edit that data at a later date. Let's say the user saves
"Up to 90% off retail price"
Everything works fine, the % gets saved in the table etc. The problem is when they return to Flash it now reads
"Up to 90 off retail price"
All I'm doing is taking the value of the variable and sticking inside a text box, I can't see why Flash is having trouble reading that value into a text box. I am making this data into an html ready textbox.

If you open a file, change the text case, then save it without doing anything else: It doesn't save the changes made with this control. If you change the case, then alter the file using the IDE (cut/paste the text, shift it, draw something and delete it, etc) THEN it saves the changes.
So it seems that the case alteration by itself is not recognized by the IDE, so it doesn't think the file changed, and doesn't actually save it.

Apr 2, 2012I'm creating an in-house application in flash for my company. I'm pulling a ton of info from a single XML file located on our server. Ten interns will be using the application on their laptops (Air 2.0). Having the data load and populate the application is not a problem. I would like them (in the application) to be able to edit an existing node value (loaded from the XML) and save it (back to the XML file) so that the XML file updates with the new value and the other 9 interns would see the change on their application.
I figure I'll need some kind of php set up, but everything I've read so far deals with creating new nodes. I need to edit and update existing node values from an existing loaded file.
Here's a very simple example of the XML:

Jan 14, 2008I have an Access Database (doesn't need to be Access, I can phpAdmin or mysql, whatever will work) that has a list of names. I want the user to open a Flash form and have the names load up into seperate input boxes for each name. The user can then change the names, move them, whatever, and then save the record. I want it to just overwrite the record. I donlt want create a new record. I cannot, for the life of me, figure this out. I have tried to find some tutorials but nothing makes sense. Is ASP a good way to go? I have been struggling with this for a week now.

So anyway, I usually build flash websites the traditional way using timeline animation and scripting. Today I had a job interview and they said they're looking for someone who can develop any web design into a Flash CMS with a back-end office for the client to edit the content without having to edit the FLA file or any code.

I can save files in CS5 as CS4 so they can be read at college (by Flash) but I have to do it via the "save as" every time I save. After a couple of times, it get rather irritating. Sep 19, 2009I just got adobe flash cs3 and opened up a .fla header in which I like to change the text. I bought a template from someone with test in the flash and I'm trying to edit the words with no luck. I've tried double clicking on it and it brings up a square around the text but I'm not able to change it.

If I open the compenent inspector for the FLVPlayback, and then open the cuePoints dialog, I should be able to add, remove, or modify cue points. However, I can't edit anything in the dialog at all. It seems locked.The tutorial clearly states you should be able to edit the points.

Aug 5, 2011I have a IT background and have been able to alter most of the template by myself to the design I would prefer my website to have. However I have hit a snag, it looks like part of the flash website design is controlled by bitmap images therefore I concluded those images were under the sources within the PSD folder. I tried creating a PNG file and double clicking the relevant bitmap and then updating it with the new file. However after I perform a publish preview the the change made no impact to the design.
