I have figured out how to do most items I have needed to change in a template I purchased, but I'm stumped on this one. How do I change to hover over color of menu items? I can supply the fla and flv files if needed. I just don't know which item(s) I should be working on in the library to do what I want to do.

I simply want to change it so that all highlights are done in Red instead, but am not a flash developer so not sure how to do it.

View 1 RepliesI'm working on [URL] and I'm having problems with the semi-transparent png backgrounds when I embed flash into the page, but only in Internet Explorer. See attached. notice how the semi-trans white seems to fade out away from the top left in the drop down, and in the 5-pixel border encircled. On pages without flash, it's fine. In Firefox, Safari, it's fine. I tried using the Unit PNG fix, and that made the image backgrounds look perfect, but then my drop-down hover menus became buggy, i.e. they would hide if you moused over link text in the menu and then moved back into the white empty space in the menu. Argh. I'm running IE 8.0.7077.0, Firefox 3.0.9, on Windows 7 build 7077 x64

I have imported an illustrator image into flash (both cs4). It is in vector format (vector smart object-with masks). I want to convert this into a either a button or an MC so that when people hover over it, it changes colour but I cannot edit the image in Flash. If I import as none vector I lose the image quality completely but I do not want to flatten it and lose the transparencies. How I can edit the image in Flash? Also, when people hover over the image I would like text to type itself on what that link is for e.g. HOMEPAGE etc. I have AS for it to work in MX but cannot find anything for CS4.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create an xml accordion menu that has main menus and a sub menus buttons (movieClips) revealed with a mask. Simple question, How do I stop the mask area which reveals the sub menus catching mouseEvents on the submenus?The main menu button is a movieClip, it has the mask sprite attached to it as a property so it can scale dynamically to reveal the subMenus. They are set as children of the main menu button container. In my code I've set mainMenu.mouseChildern = true. But when the mainMenu is clicked I change mouseEnabeled = false to help prevent the main menu receiving events. This helps on rollOver rollOut events, but when I click or mouseDown on the subMenu the mask catches the event also and activates the main menu again. I've tried the obvious mask.mouseEnabled = false; mask.mouseChildern = false; mask.hitArea = null; and even setting mask.alpha = 0 but this has no effect at all.
I don't understand why the mask has to extend the hitArea property of the mainMenu and why this can't be set to null. It also seems crazy that when mouseChildren = true the parent clip also has to receive notice of the event.
I have two datagrids which should do everything synchronic except the data entry. I already managed to make them scroll synchronic by using the scroll event. My question is now how to select a item of a datagrid only programmatically, and how to get the mouseover effect and underlining the corresponding row with a bright blue color?

I have a few movie clips that change color when they are rolled over and rolled out of which is great and works correctly but now I have add glows to those buttons to serve as borders or a stroke and when you roll over the buttons the color and the filter color changes.

I just want to change the stroke color and not the fill color... is this possible? ... or am I stuck removing all fills and using a filter?
