But I either get unclear movie or unclear audio. Is there any way to convert swf to video which will give me clear video file.

So Ive been working with Flash Pro CS5 and it seems I cant get the converting right with image formats into shape symbols. A couple days ago I did convert it correctly but now I cant remember how exactly I did it lol.
What Im trying to do is convert an image into a shape symbol then into a .gls format. When I import the working shape symbol in my SoThink Flash it would show up in the scene but now I cant recreate a working one as it would show up as a blank image.
Ive watched and read through some tutorials but Im confused on which order I should do the steps into converting an image into a symbol.
Btw.. if theres an easier way to convert an image into a .gls format I like to hear it as well
Im trying to use the DateChooser. You can get the date by using "selectedDate"-function, but the format is so screwed up that I cant use it. Looks like this:
Wed Jan 12 00:00:00 GMT+0100 2005
Is there a quick way to turn this string into a string with "YYYYMMDD"-format (ie. "20050123")?
files to see if the DateChooser-class has any quick-conversion functions, but I cant find any..
Is there any library in Action Script that be able to convert any video format to .FLV?
I've been looking for it with no success. I thought that as3 had functions for that purposes but not found.
I want to give the possibility that in my site, users can upload any video, so I need to convert it to a standard and compress it to a fixed resolution.
change into a horizontal menu format. Script was from kirupa forum and it is called 'flashnav' and it reads 'images.xml' . Its a great script but only if it couild me converted to display horizontally.

View 3 RepliesI'm just starting out with my first Adobe Air project (I'm a pure AS3 developer by trade).I'm planning to build an image editor which supports layers. I'm wondering what the best way would be to store an entire project including layer data (images) to a users hard disk.I'm wondering if there is any pros/cons in creating a custom file format for my application. The idea is I will be able to store an entire project in a single file. This will be done by writing meta data to the file's header such as the image dimensions, layer names, layer data offsets etc...I'm trying to be mindful of the issues which might arrise such as maintaining backwards compatibility after adding new project features/meta etc.I guess I'm asking whether people have any advice or experience with creating a custom file format for Adobe Air and if there are any other 'out-of-the-box' solutions to saving 'complex' data to a users hard disk.

I'm a senior in High School and I need to send in animations on a DVD for some of the colleges I'm applying to. The thing is, I have no clue how to get my flash animations onto a DVD.I have Flash MX, and I have been told to go to publish settings > convert in Flash 5 mode and to choose quicktime on the publishing list. But so far, this doesn't make a real video- it seems to still be a flash movie.
So please, how do I convert flash movies to video? And then to DVD. What free programs can make a full quality convertion? It goes without saying I need to get this done before a deadline,
I'm having issues converting a semi-old flash file into a quicktime video. I've been moving a lot of work to .mov files lately and off of a flash based file, the conversion actually worked perfectly on a previous video but I can't seem to get it to work on this file. During the conversion it just gets hung up on recording the flash file and I'm forced to cancel. Creating a AVI yields the same result (no that I want a AVI, just saying). I thought of a few things that may have been making it act like this, so I deleted things like the play/replay button and what not, but no good. Can Flash not export to a Quicktime if there are Actionscripts present? I've uploaded the full file, untouched from my tampering here. [URL].
View 4 RepliesI am having an issue with turning my SWF into an FLV. I have actionscript that plays some audio clips and of course it all plays fine as a SWF, but how do I get it to retain all of the functionality when I export it to an FLV? The method I was trying is exporting to an AVI, opening up Flash Video Encoder, and converting the AVI to an FLV, but it comes out all messed up. I'm new to this converting stuff.
View 1 RepliesOk so basically I imported a video clip (flv) to my stage and I'm trying to convert all the frames to keyframes for further manipulation. If I try to convert any frame after the first one, into a keyframe.. it just pushes the rest of the video forward and gives me the wrong frame. In other words it just does a bunch of random stuff to mess up my clip.
convert all the video frames into keyframes, then I would like to know how I can at least replicate 1 still frame and paste it somewhere else. When I tried to even just do this, it once again acted screwy and gave me the first starting frame of the video, NOT the frame I chose from the middle of the clip.
I have managed to put some captions on a video file and would now need to get this video back into flv format to put it online;..I tried with the cs3 video encoder but it wouldn't let me.... So my questions are:
1. Is it actually possible to convert my swf file into flv with cs3 video encoder ...which would be logical as it is a flash file...
2. What is the best option I Have to convert my swf file with captions without losing the captions...
I have a flash video(.swf) on my website and i want it to convert into such a format so that it remain available from iphone/ipad. Is there any possible way of doing so? Can i convert it into HTML5? If yes can anyone suggest the process and if no, can anyone suggest any other method?
View 6 RepliesI've created short two and a half minute animation which needs to be converted to a video file.
The animation contains various movie clips and run in conjunction with an overall audio backing track.
It's my understanding that nested movie clips won't work when I export to video due to them having a timeline of their own however having a flash file with everything on the master time line would contain too many layers and frames to be manageable.
Is there any way I can export my file to video (avi, mpeg etc) or do I need to get some third party software, in which case any advice on those?
I am trying to find a swf to video rendering engine - basically a server side engine that can make a video as it's being assembled (or if there is an api offered by ustream). We made a Facebook application that basically takes your photos and makes a slideshow of them, but then we would like people to be able to save the slideshow as a movie and then upload it to youtube or email it to a friend. We found [[URL] but are trying to find an alternative..something cheaper perhaps.
I even was looking at the technology behind Elf Yourself [URL] but the ones I found basically just mentioned the motion tracking technology and not how they converted/exported it at the end.
This question has been asked and incorrectly answered a number of times already. Specifically, on an Apple computer, it seems that there is no way to get a video file (.mov, .mpg or any other) out of Flash Pro without severe loss of quality or complete destruction of frame rate.
My .swf files look fantastic, just like they are supposed to. The play at the correct frame rate and all items work as I have set them up. When I go to export it as an .mov or .mpg, the frame rate speeds up and slows down depending on the objects on the screen. I have played with the settings endlessly, knocking the quality down to almost the lowest settings (something I would rather not do after working very hard on my piece) as well as adjusting the frame rate options all over the place to see if anything changed. Nothing. I have read many a forum where Flash creators have the same problems and are tearing their hair out because their work is essentially useless being stuck in Flash.
I know that there are programs that convert .swf files to video very well, some of them cost about $100. Why buy Flash in the first place if you have to buy another, almost equally priced piece of software just to get your content out of Flash? I also know that there are hundreds of free video converters out there for Apples, none of them seem to be able to handle the .swf format, but can do just about everything else. I further know that for windows, there is the free Iwisoft .swf to video converter that works just fine, but does not handle Apple created .swf files when ported across to a PC. How is it that such software is easy and free on a Windows machine, but not a Mac?
I would love it if an Adobe rep could answer some of these questions because I have been all over the web looking for answer to which no one seems to have the right one. Most people can suggest a good video converter that works for them, but they haven't tried it on a .swf file and when the original user tries it, it does not work and the thread dies there.
Would it be possible to have a video (MP4, FLV, F4V, or some other popular format) contain a table of contents that the user can click to seek to different sections of the movie?

View 2 RepliesI have the problem that a video I imported in Flash is visible on my pc but not on any other. I converted the video into the flv format and dragged it onto the scene. So far so good. I created a folder which includes the main swf as well as the video in the flv format. Since this is a University project, I sent this folder to a professor and he could not see the video. I've tried it on any other pc - wouldn't work either.
