View 1 RepliesI have a flash file that has several text fields that get their content from a xml document. My xml looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<index_content>
<image no="1">
[Code]....
I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]
View 1 RepliesI'm loading a XML to Dynamic Text field and all is OK, but the SWF is show at left out site of the flash document, I only want put a icon and a text in the same line, something like this:
<body><img align="left" src="icon.swf"
width="15"><mess>You have 4 new
messages</mess></body>
I try with many kinds of tags, CSS and attributes and nothing.
This is old project and it seems that I cant convert dynamic text fields to TLF fields. so is there any reasonable solutions for creating dynamic text field with Right To Left hebrew text? Not only for loading text into it, users have to be able to input text as well...
View 6 RepliesNot really a AS3 issue, but I'm having a bunch of trouble changing the font size in a text field that pulls data from and XML file. I've changed every font size with the css file, but it doesn't result in any changes with the swf. If it's really that simple the XML and CSS are both here. Or if more is needed, here is the entire project.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to use a font symbol from an external shared library. When I place the script below in my frame, trying to format a textfield on the stage, the textfield disappears. Only when I place another element (from the same shared library) in the stage, the textfield responds to the script. Although, when I tried to create a static text using the same font symbol, the dynamic textfield dissapeared, while the static text got the font symbol without any trouble.
var myFormat = new TextFormat();
myFormat.color - 0x999999;
myFormat.font = "Harmony";//Harmony is the Identifier of the symbol
myFormat.size = 16;
_root.my_txt.embedFonts = true;
_root.my_txt.text = "Some text";
my_txt.setTextFormat(myFormat);
I try to use an external StyleSheet with an embedFont. But as soon as I switch embedFonts to true, nothing happens anymore.The font is embedded in an dynamic TextField on the library (so I can embed parts of the font and doen't have to import the whole font), it's definitively there, I can find it width enumerateFonts and use it with TextFormat. But if you click here, you see the un-embedded TextFields most likely in an alternative Font (wich both are shown correctly on my system), the correct embedded-font TextField with TextFormat but nothing on StyleSheet with embedded font.[code]
View 2 RepliesI have created a Flash Map that functions properly with a static XML file but when I try to load a dynamic XML generated my ColdFusion I get no results. The example can be found at: http:[url]...The one that does not work is at http:[url]....
This map should load the different states that are in the XML file but instead it does not load any of them. The two different XML files can be found at: http:[url]....and http:[url].....An interesting note: Firefox does not recognize the cfm file as a XML file but IE does. This may be based on the file extension.
The Action Script is exactly the same except that it references adifferent file. The Flash works when published for Flash Player 6 but when I try to publish for Player 8 even the
static XML does not work.
I would like to build a dynamic webdatabase.(One form that updates text and bit-maps.)I must use Microsoft ACCESS or mySQL.Is it possible and is there any video tutorials out there?I heard a lot of "tissling and tassling" that flash is not
well suited to work with databases.
I have a scroll pane that is linked to a movie clip with a dynamic text field. The scroll pane expands automatically based on the length of the dynamic text field. I would also like to have the dynamic text field expand automatically to fit the dynamic content from an external .txt file if there is too much text to fit in the default text field length.
Here is the code I am using to get the .txt files:
myLoadVars = new LoadVars();
myLoadVars.onLoad = function() {
// the data is loaded in the myLoadVars object as a property
[Code]....
I have 2 input textfields on the stage and 1 dynamic textfield.
-input1 is for quantity
-input2 is for page count
When a user enters a number into the page count it makes a calculation and places the outcome into the dynamic textfield. This textfield is for the individual price.All of this so far works. What I want to do now is create another dynamic textfield for the total. So the individual price is multiplied by the quantity and this result is put in the new dynamic text field. I have the code for that working but here is where it gets tricky (for me anyway).The total price is to start off invisible. When I roll over the individual price the total price is to appear (For a test lets just say when I roll over an area the total price appears).To stop cursor flickering this should be done inside a movieclip. So... I have create a movieclip and placed a dynamic textfield inside it. They all have instance names BUT how do I reference it in script?I need to tell the resulting calculation to be placed inside the textfield which is inside the movieclip. If it isn't inside a movie clip I can do it. But how to I reference it when inside one?
How do I put the contents of a php document into a dynamic text field in a Flash document?
View 1 RepliesI want to create a Flash file so a user can check boxes to filter what images are displayed--the (unfiltered) images would come from an XML file. Or, a MySQL database if that's easier. Is this possible? If so, how?
View 3 RepliesDoes anyone know why the first part of my CSS formatted is the only part that shows? I know the rest of my text is formatted correctly because I can erase the first part, and only show the other portion. I just want to be able to load a decent size set of text into a text block I am making with a scrollbar.
View 1 RepliesShouldn't it be possible to pass in a dynamic url path for this property? I am successfully loading a variable using loadVars and then attempting to use that variable to populate the xmlConnector.URL property but it does not seem to work. Do you have to hardcode a url for this property?
View 1 RepliesSo I've got one more problem because the font size limit on 127px I need to scale my dynamic text so it can be bigger. So here the code I tought could work:
this.createEmptyMovieClip("text1_mc",1);
[Code]....
I would like to be able to dynamically populate a dynamictext field (assuming that's the best component to use) with anarray of data from PHP.I have attached my PHP code and my Flash Code.The PHP code is working fine and generating the array.The first part of the AS code is working as I can see thepop-up window with the PHP array in it. However, I can't figure outhow to get the array to display in the dynamic text box.I have created a dynamic text box in flash with nothing inthe 'instance name' box and 'events' in the var box.
View 1 RepliesI need the use of the chars â„¢ and ® but only the latter appears. I'm using a loadVars object and an external .txt file which is loading with success, but where I need the phrase "Soo Bahk Doâ„¢ Moo Duk Kwan®," I only get "Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan®" Why doesn't "â„¢" load?
Edit: I'd like to add that I have chosen to embed all uppercase,lowercase, and punctuation marks, and I additionally added â„¢ and ® to ensure they'd appear, but, the trademark logo still does not appear.
Using CS3 Flash Pro, AS2 or AS3Once the dynamic TextField is converted to a Movie clip symbol,access to that TextField is lost / broken.Could this be a "Class" issue?How do I enable the dynamic text to be passed into the Movie clip symbol?
View 2 RepliesI've got a dynamic text area pulling text from a MySQL database via AMFPHP.The text includes special characters such as accents,umlauts, etc (multi-language site platform). Most of them work fine, and ALL of them work fine when I'm on a Mac client. However, if I use a Windows client machine in either Firefox or IE6, there are a couple characters that for whatever reason just don't seem to show up-instead I get the [] box character.
The only characters I've found that seem to be affected like this are European quote characters like ' " and " (hex characters 146, 147, 148). I'm using the familiar ampersand-pound-number-semicolon escape sequence for them. And like I said, they all display fine on Mac/Firefox and Mac/Safari. Why are all my other special characters (umlauts, accents, etc) working fine and just these things failing? It's also worth noting that they look fine if I dump them out to a PHP file and pull it up in a browser...
I have a dynamic text instance in Flash named dynamic_txt and I want it to display information from a php file. What command allows me to do this? Here is the code:
PHP
<?php print "dynamo_txt=DYNAMIC"; ?>
ActionScript (2.0)
var my_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
my_lv.onLoad = function(success:Boolean) {
if (success) {
//Here is Where I want the command that will allow Dynamo_TXT to display the String // From the PHP File
};
my_lv.load("cars.php");
i'm trying to load a full html page with layout table cells intact and full function (like an i frame)i can load text and image but i can seem to get the entire page flash just lods it how it wants.does anyone have an idea? Can this be done? i've tried it with a dynamic text field, componets, and i can get falsh to see table / cell layouts at all.[code]is how i load my content. but making several dynamic text fields to load one page of content is working my nerves.URL...
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to get data from a webservice placed on an other server, parse the data and display it in a datagrid.I'm using the WebServiceConnector component.I placed a crossdomain.xml on the remote server, allowing my domain
(<allow-access-from domain="*.mydomain.corp"
secure="false" />)
Everything works fine within Flash.(Ctrl+Enter)Data is recovered, parsed and diplayed propoerly.But when i try somewhere else,it doesn't work at all.(local swf, local html, nor in http on mydomain)I placed dynamic txt fields to trace the status of the webserviceconnector, throught a listener on "status" event.I have of course an other listener for "result" event, which launches parsing and display.
Within Flash, i see the "status" changing from
"StatusChange" {callsInProgress:1}
to
"StatusChange" {callsInProgress:0}
and then, the "result" event is triggered.[code]......
was trying to get xml data into a listBox and textArea. Then when I try to get it into a dyamic textField it gets the first one and not changing as i select different item in the listbox. sure there is a way. also i want to make it clickable so it go to a web page.
View 1 RepliesThis is what I am trying to do, but I am not sure if this ispossible with the constrains of AS3.I am trying to embed the font outlines to be used fordynamically created textfields by creating (using the Flash IDE) adynamic text field off of the stage, embedding the fonts in it andthen refer to the font when creating a TextField using code.
Here is some quick sample code...
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
var tNew:TextField = new TextField();
[code]......
I am using a mehot to drag data from a database (via php) and then insert it into the dynamic text field. This works fine locally, however when I put it onto mysite, none of the text loads.
PHP data looks like this
Code:
$result = mysql_query("SELECT title FROM jos_content WHERE id=46");
$row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result);
echo $row['title'];
Actionscript for text looks like this
Code:
var my_xml = new XML ();
my_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
my_xml.load ("[URL]");
my_xml.onLoad = function (success){
if (success)
titlenewsone_txt.htmlText = this;
}
I have created an array, and everything seems to be going okay, although I am unable to capture the array's data properly. The Trace function returns something like this :
[Code]....
I need to put ALL that information into a dynamic text? what I am getting now is only the last entry.( Example myItemList[2], but no myItemList[1] or myItemList[0] ) here is the code:
[Code]....
Another option would be to take all this info and put it into 1 variable or something, but I'm not sure how to do that either.
I have a video player that is currently using XML for its video library which is all fine and dandy. Now I have some developers working on a CMS type page in PHP that is going to hopefully pass some sort of information to my player that will let it know where the video is stored on our server. Is there a way to do this without using FMS? If so does anyone have ideas where I can find the information for it.
View 2 Repliesi would just like to ask why is the case that when i use embedfonts = true on a textfield, the textfield's text only resizes according to the textfield's height but not the textfield's width. meaning if i make the textfield's height bigger, the text also gets bigger in terms of height, but not width, can't the embedded font maintain aspect ratio according to the textfield height?
I'm only wondering about this because this is not the case when embedfonts= false
