May 3, 2006I'm using a xml file to upload info to a flash app. For the xml I used utf-8 encoding but I'm having a problem the "&" symbol isn't displaying rigth.

Mar 21, 2007server, the swf is in the same domain as the images directory andthe PHP file. It's exactly as laid out in the Unleashed book: (see ). However, I get an HTTP 406 error whatever I do. I've checkedfile permissions. I suppose it is some sort of security problem butI can't see what. I tried the same thing on my local PC apacheserver and there I got an IO error can point me to more details onthe FileReference error handling

When the returning data is not empty, I see:

But when the returning data is empty, I see:

How can I understand that file uploading is compete absolutely even if received data is empty?
Data Integration :: FileReference.upload OnComplete Event Fails On OSX?
Aug 4, 2006i have a flash 8 movie that upload jpegs to a server side script. When hosted on an NT server, with a php script that recieves the upload, the FileReference onComplete event gets called correctly when the an image has completely uploaded using FileReference.upload. This when movie is viewed in Flash Player 8, in IE and Firefox on Windows XP and on OSX.
When the same swf is uploaded to an Apache Tomcat/5.5.12 server, with a jsp script to recieve the upload, then the problems start. The upload works ok on both PC and OSX, except that the onComplete event of the
FileReference object is never called on OSX. It is essential to trap the onComplete event for the site to continue with its functionality. (If the file takes long enough to upload (more than a few fractions of a second) the the onProgress event is called while its uploading on PC and OSX.)

I'd like to be able to send the data I generate in flash to an external text file. I understand I need some sort of script to do that, but is this something I can run just on my machine? What about forms? PayPal has the option of doing a form for a shopping cart. Flash won't even begin to recognize it when I just drop the form code in there.

Aug 8, 2006I can't figure this out. When I test a URL page with an embedded SWF file (using [URL]) I cannot get the embedded SWF to play more than one or two frames. However, if I upload this same flash-embedded html page, and test it on the WWW, then it seesm to play without a glitch.

Now I have some developers working on a CMS type page in PHP that is going to hopefully pass some sort of information to my player that will let it know where the video is stored on our server. Jan 26, 2008I am attempting to get data from an xml file load in flash. I followed a tutorial in a new fla and it seemed to work fine, I then tried to adapt it to my own needs which worked fine. But then when trying to implement this into my news section it doesn't seem to work. I am trying to make a news section, that displays the date and news article. This is in within a movie clip, I even tried putting it in the timeline of the scene but still nothing.

I have found that Flash does not support the DOM command 'getElementsByTagName()' which I was endeavouring to use to find the record in the XML file that I wanted to associate with a particular dynamic text field.
