I am making a epub reader flex project on web, air and mobile. I'm quite good in understanding the facts from the below link. Its just shows how to unzip the epub file, either local or in web.[URL].. how can I display it in both web and air. I Just succeeded in displaying the PDF in web and mobile, but not the epub. Need a swc for displaying epub.

I have several jpg files in small sizes inside a photogallery in my Flash presentation and wish to have them displayed preferably outside of Flash, i.e. when people will click on a particular jpg, a new Tab will open and a full size jpg will be streamed there, no matter how large in size, no matter whether small or large in screen dimensions, etc. The user will remain inside my Flash program and continue looking through other jpgs. I have created a few (will be a few hundreds eventually) flashcards (for leaning chinese characters), how can i make them show-up one after another on a click of a <next> button? (How to create the <next> button, where to place, how to code it, and how to make the swf files appear one after another when the button is clicked?)
Each flashcard is interactive with dozens of layers (all lasting one frame only, but there is a movie clip within a movie clip on the first frame of one of the layers (an animated clip to show *how to* write the character), it has a stop(); command in the first and last frames. And there are dozens of invisible buttons that allow the content (example words and sentences) to show up and hide on click of the buttons (all coded in AS2 i think).
Each flashcard on itself functions perfectly well when published , but i am really puzzled how could i connect all the flashcards and make them show up one after another on the click of the (yet to be created somehow) <next> button.
How do you make fonts in Flash .FLA files so they do not don't disappear when copied from one computer to another?

Due to circumstances we cannot directly display those PDFs in the AIR application (for example using flash.html.HTMLLoader). I work on a Flex application that creates compressed files and uploads them on a server. The files are created with ByteArray.compress method, which is zlib compression. I can decompress them using Python API on the server but I prefer to keep the files compressed there. I want to be able to download and decompress the files later, however WinZip and WinRar fail to decompress them. When I google for zlib utility, I only find zlib dll library. I need a simple application for Windows (and/or Linux)

I stuck the rest in just in case I'm completely wrong about where the problem is. With the "if" statement I can display fine in a run, but not in debug. If I get rid of the conditional it runs fine in debug, but not in a regular run. These errors only occur on the first run of the quiz. In either mode it runs fine fi I take a second quiz.

I can use Maven with FlexMojos to generate swf file, but because I have several mxml files need to build, could I build them in 1 Maven pom file?I know if I separate them into several projects, Maven can build them. But because these mxml files have some shared functions, it's not easy to manage if I separate them.Another question is the size of swf file. The original file size build by Flex builder is about 80KB, but the file size by Maven is about 800KB. Is it normal?
View 2 RepliesWhat I'm trying to do is get the total bytes of all the files I want to load and display the percentage loaded of total bytes and bytes loaded of all the files. Its a slideshow so i want all the files loaded and then it will play. I've looked at bulk-loader but it wasn't what I needed. The image are loaded from an xml file. I think I would need to create an Array and then find out the total bytes but I don't know how to reference the loader in the progress.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a Flex Tree Component display the children of a sprite in a hierarchical way. Moreover, dragging the items on the FlexTree would resort and reparent the items. I have special Elements set as Folders. This would allow other elements to be added there as a children by dragging an element on the tree and dropping it there. I have a failed attempt which works, but breaks when I try to add folders. Basically, it fails at reparenting the items by dragging and resorting folders and that Does anyone know of a component or something which can do this, has anyone have created any of this or could anyone give me a clue?

In an AIR application I have the following code:
theDialog = PopUpManager.createPopUp( this, TheDialogClass, true ) as TheDialogClass;
theDialog.addEventListener(FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE, cpuIntensiveCalc);
At the end of cpuIntensiveCalc the dialog is removed. The dialog informs the user that "something is going on, please stand by."
The problem is that cpuIntensiveCalc starts before the dialog draws. So the user experience is that the application freezes for 10 seconds with no indicator, then the modal dialog flashes quickly (less than a second) on screen.
The Adobe docs say this about creation_complete
Dispatched when the component has finished its construction, property processing, measuring, layout, and drawing.
So this feels like the correct event. In the name of completeness, I also tried
