Flash App Loading Crossdomain.xml From App Server Fails?
Aug 2, 2011
I'm writing a web application using three tier architecture. I have three Amazon EC2 ubuntu servers. The first server handles the presentation of the application and includes my main flash file. The second EC2 instance represents my application server. It contains the AMFPHP files and corresponding web services. Finally, the third instance handles persistance and is running a MySQL database. Both the presentation and application servers are running an apache web server. I created security groups specific to each tier such that the presentation layer will accept all incoming traffic on port 80 while the application layer will only accept incoming traffic from the presentation server. This should allow anyone to request my web application from the presentation server but prevent anyone from accessing the web services on my application server.My flash application cannot make web service calls to my application server. When a request is sent, I never receive a response from the server and eventually receive a security sandbox error.
It seemed odd that I wasn't receiving a response, so I decided to try a couple of things:
1. I connected to my presentation tier via ssh and attempted to use lynx to connect to my application server's gateway.php. I was able to connect without any problems.
2. I used Chrome's developer tools window to observe network traffic when loading my site. I found that it is attempting to load the crossdomain.xml file (which resides in the root of my web server [/var/www] on the application tier) using a GET request; but strangely, it times out and fails. This is where I am confused. How come I can use lynx on the same machine to connect to the web server on the application tier but yet the flash app can't access the same file?
While running some tests, I decided to open up the application server instance's firewall such that it can receive http requests from my IP. As soon as I did this, the application being hosted on the presentation tier immediately began working (Received a response from the web service)! However, this means I would have to force my application tier to accept http requests from the internet in order to work, which is not something I want to do. I don't understand why making this change would allow the application to grab the crossdomain.xml file. If the application server's security group is set to accept incoming http requests from the presentation security group, it should have no problem acquiring the crossdomain. xml file residing in the web server root of the application server right? I've spent more time than I would like looking into this issue. I really would like to setup a three-tier environment for my application in which the flash application will be able to send web service requests to my application layer. The most confusing part about this is the fact that when I add my computer's IP address to the application server's firewall, everything seems to magically work as intended. Please correct me if I am setting my application up in the wrong way. I am basing my architecture off of the following:URL..
I want to create flash banner with XML content, and host it on my site with crossdomain.xml, and then share banner code with other sites for banner exchange.So, everything is on my server.Will loading banner, on other sites, load XML from my server, if both banner and XML resides on the same server, but banner is loaded on the other site?
I have a Windows Server 2003, with a domain: "mydomain.com" and everything goes right until the Flash application tries to load de crossdomain.xml, because it tries to load it from "servername" and obviously the request fails. Currently I have read all about crossdomain.xml , what it is, where it goes although I can not find what I have to do so my flash application requests the crossdomain.xml from my domain "mydomain.com" and not from my server "servername".
- The domain is up and can be accessed from the internet
- The crossdomain is on the root folder and also can be accessed from the internet
I'm trying to display some Facebook video thumbnails in a Flash application, all of the video thumbnails I try to load seem to be hosted at . However cannot be loaded (Access Denied). Is there some way around this? (other than loading the images through a proxy). Maybe an alternative url which can be used?
I monitor (and log to server) most user errors in our flash game. Quite frequently I see security errors related to trying to make requests to a cross-domain URL (usually the Facebook Graph API). 99% of our players can make these graph API calls with no issues.What I think is going on is that the client makes a request, but fails to load the crossdomain.xml file. I don't quite know how AS3 handles this in the case of a failure to load the crossdomain policy file...will it retry for every URLRequest made until it succeeds in loading it, or does it just give up forever?
I have a rails app that embeds a swf. The swf takes user input and posts to the server. For testing purposes, the controller is just redirecting the browser back to another pagewithout processing the data. Interestingly, after the post, the server log and the firebug log shows what clearly looks like a successful redirect (200) showing the correct URL GET, but the browser does not actually move to the new page and is stuck on the same page with the flash app. Same behavior occurs in both Firefox and Safari.
Situation: Work on a file, save it, and close it (example file is stored on local drive). Attempt to reload the file using the recent items list from the splash screen: File does not load, and output screen message appears: The following JavaScript error(s) occurred: Cannot find file /Volumes/users/mt/Desktop/Working Files/TMK2079_HI/Flash/TMK2079_HI-SQ.fla. This is the file just saved by Flash... and it cannot locate it. I can browse with File > Open, so it is not a critical work loss or stoppage issue, but it is annoying that it happens. It only seems to affect Flash as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop behave as expected with the recent files. It seems to be able to find files saved to a network location, but not to the local machine (in this case a folder on the desktop). I tried renaming the "Working Files" folder to remove the space, but the issue persists. I tried a search but didn't get any hits that seemed relevant.
When I run the flash player (from flashdevelop) the images are loaded and everything is fine.But when I run the swf from a browser the requests are sent (using chrome's tools for programers - network tab) but nothing is loaded. The size/content column shows 0/actual size of the file
Anybody got experience with new restrictions in flash player 9 & 10?..._security.html I have two servers X & Y Y hosts a Y.swf file that is trying to load variable from server X Y.swf has this line of code in it: System.security.allowDomain("*"); now, server X has crossdomain.org file in its root that looks like this:
So with this setup everything should work correctly, or so I thought... From what I see variables from server X never make it to Y.swf What do you think could be the problem? Unfortunaltelly guy who has access to the serwer X is not at work today so I can't experiment with adding this line of code just yet to the xml file: <allow-access-from domain="Y.com" /> maybe that would solve the problem..
I have a FMS 3.5 running a VOD service (on-line training based on videos) on what I call a "streaming server". The client loads the Player from a secure (separate) domain, and the Player then requests the SMIL files from the webroot of the Apache server (part of the FMS installation. The Player then starts the video which is streamed dynamically.
In order for the Player to get the SMIL files, it is making a crossdomain.xml request to the Streaming Server. When it get the response, it continues the process. PROBLEM: Sometimes, the crossdomail.xml response from the Streaming Server is SEVERELY delayed, with perhaps 5 minutes. So the end user experience is that it does not work.
I improved the situation by opening up more ports on the Windows Firewall of the Stremaing Server (now open for 1935,80,443,8134) and it works say 90%+ of the times. But there are still occations when there is no response.
I have recently uploaded my flex applicaiton on server, it works fine on my system (localhost) but on the production server it tries to access..which is not available and end up showing "loading" eternally.
The flash movie in my server (www.mydomain.com) is trying to access data from a different domain (www.otherdomain.com). I've placed the crossdomain.xml in the webroot of the otherdomain. I am getting flash error on accessing the data from otherdomain. When I tracked the HTTP request sent, it shows only one request with URL: https:....
INET_E_SECURITY_PROBLEM.Its clear from this result that IE is not able to load crossdomain.xml file from otherdomain.The same application works in Mozilla Firefox and failing in IE6.
Tried to upgrade to FMS 3.5.2 on CentOS 5. No dice. Listener doesn't start. No other (as far as I know) services running on :1935. Admin server works, but not Streaming Server.
I am having trouble loading .swf files to my flash app off my cloudstorage account on azure. images and videos load fine but .swf files return this error:
SecurityDomain 'http://localhost/' tried to access incompatible context 'http://[---].blob.core.windows.net/content/swf/Lib_En.swf'
I have a web page that allows users to upload video files. Part of the process is that once a video is uploaded it goes through the flvcheck to make sure it is good. For some reason when I upload a large video (over 1.5 GB) it fails the flvcheck. When I run flvcheck manually on the video, it passes.
I have an application that was running at influxis, no problem. The server side script performs an XML sendAndLoad, and then calls the client based upon the xml response. But then i installed my main.asc file into a different dev environment and the xml.sendAndLoad request totally fails. Using onHTTPStatus, I discovered that the error type is <100, with an error code of 0. According to Adobe, a 0 indicates that things were fine.
I then implemented the onData method as shown in the adobe docs, and 'src' is coming back as undefined. The network engineer has confirmed that there are no network/firewall issues that would impact FMS talking to our application server, so FMS and the app server are free and clear to communicate with each other. Is there some sort of other setting that needs to happen to allow FMS to send and receive data? Is there something else I'm missing here?
I managed to record webcam stream by using the FMS developper version locally my computer.And if I try to use a remote FMS (FMS Stream EDTN 3.5 ALP), my doesn't work anymore!
import mx.rpc.http.HTTPService; import flash.net.ObjectEncoding; private var nc:NetConnection;
I have AS3 browsing using the .browse().it then sends to my PHP script and that should be fine.The AS3 tells me that it is working.The PHP tells me that it is receiving the file.So there should be no problem.... But it seems to think that the file I am trying to upload already exists and then it fails to save the file to the server. When I use HTML instead of .swf it works fine.My PHP works fine when I interact with it using HTML.So my AS3 looks like this:
When I use the .swf it writes "PHP file alreadyExists" into the log.txt and there is no files in the upload directory what so ever (and the browser cache is clear)When I use the .htm it writes "File move" into the log.txt and copies the file
I have Flash Media Server installed on Windows Server 2007. I configured the Flash Media Server service to Automatic (Delayed Start), using a network logon instead of the local system account. In case you are curious, I use the network logon for the service because I need Flash Media Server to be able to access media stored on a network share. My problem is that, despite the Automatic start, the service does not seem to start automatically. Also, if I log out of that network account, the service seems to stop. what I can do to make sure that Flash Media Server will always start, as well as keep it running even if no accounts are logged in?
I have a flash file that loads 3 straight XML files, one after other.And in every single code I have the sucess condition, like this:
ActionScript Code: if (success){ doRightStuff();
.........
Later, I added a function and an Interval to do the verifying:
ActionScript Code: goBack = function () { gotoAndPlay("untilItWork1");
..............
Didn't work also. Las try was a completely stupid addition: a variable counter that increased it's value 100 times (doing the XML calling and loading everytime), to check if the problem was some delay issue. 5 minutes later, it didn't work also.The second time I load the f**king page, it works like a charm.
I have a SWF-Movie written in AS2(I call it AS2-Bridge), which loads another SWF2-Movie. Now if I run the AS2_Bridge.swf everything works fine.But if I load the as2_bridge into the as3-movie - then the as2_bridge fails to load the other content.
I need some help? Anyone experience this problem before with IE8 FLASH bug? Can not get this to work on all subsequent refresh to the flash. I have a flash piece which simply renders only on the first initial load. After that, if i refresh or visit the page, it does not load correctly. It seems I am having this problem with the swf only on subsequent loading of the page or whenever a refresh happens.
FMSMaster -console fails on assert I am trying to use FMSMaster -console to start FMS 3.5 on cmd.exe by system account "administrator". but I get an error when trying to run FMSMaster -console.The error that I receive is as follows:
TimeResolutionImpl::set(00.001000000) returning 00.000976600Assert failed in ..utilTCProcess.cpp line 161Failed to create process mutex.
I just installed FSMS 4 and could not log into the administration piece (the login s would fail) even though I was using the ID and password specified in the fms.ini file.
During the installation I had specified a different port for the administration port. I changed the port back to 1111 and I could log in with no problem.
Why is the admin login failing if I don't use 1111 as the admin port number ?
I am trying to load two variables from a text file testi.txt Heres my file (test1=here is some text&test2=OK)I have no problems loading test1 -part to dynamic text field but the second variable (test2) is giving me troubles.
I have two swf files, where one (lets call it A) is supposed to load and display the other(B).
The first swf (A) is using the Loader class in AS3 to load the other. In fact the loading code in A is an exact copy of the Adobe example code from the livedocs for Loader.
The other swf (B) just spins some meaninless graphics in a loop, and has a document class that has one line of code in its constructor:
trace("B's stage is: " + stage);
When I start swf A, the loading of swf B starts fine. The progress is reported as traces all the way up to 100% before swf B's constructor is called and the following is traced:
B's stage is: null
THEN the complete handler is triggered (yes. AFTER the constructor was called for B with no stage).
The problem is that I really need B to have a stage for my project to work, as I will actually use stage, instead of just tracing it. I have really tried everything to get this working. Is there no way so soothe B into having a valid stage before its constructor is loaded?
I have a Button that when clicked loads a Flex module in my AIR application. However,occasionally the Module fails to load the first time the button is clicked, but it works the second time it's clicked. When I debug it in the debugger the READY event is not fired so the remaining logic is never called.
var moduleInfo:IModuleInfo = ModuleManager.getModule(managedModule.url); moduleInfo.addEventListener(ModuleEvent.READY, function(event:ModuleEvent):void { trace("ModuleEvent.READY called.");
I have a (self-created) swf demo with button triggering getUrl('SampleTargetPage.html')Now I want to place the swf at our cdn at while my html page resided on More structured:

I thought it would be sufficient to provide a crossdomain.xml at cdn.example.com to allow the links work. But: it seems like the Flash plugin never queries the crossdomain.xml at all!Now, is there something which I must add in the SWF itself to make this work?
edit: do I need to use Security.loadPolicyFile?
edit: Maybe I don't need the crossdomain.xml at all because everything's under ?
