Jan 11, 2009I working on a flashbanner. It is a dynamic textfield called "regnr" where the user is supposed to add a registration number (of their car) before clicking the send button. This code is on the button:

It works when the domain is hardcoded but doesn't work when I am using the clickTag. Is it possible to add variables like this to a clickTag? How could this be done to actually work?

the flash banner displays fine.. but there is 'clicking' element of it is not working.. ie. there is no link on the banner.. can anyone see any problems with the way i am doing this...? or.. is the problem definitely within the swf....??

Apr 14, 2010I've done a banner ad for my client. The marketing company is kicking it back saying the clickTAG variable is not working. Below is the required code and specs. The attached Zip file has the ad. I'm a newbie to AS2, which is required for the ad.
Click Tags:All Flash banner ads are required to support the clickTAG variable. The clickTAG is the tracking code assigned by the publisher to an individual ad. It allows the publisher to register where the ad was displayed when it was clicked and helps ReachLocal evaluate the effectiveness of the banner creative.
On any click, Flash ads should redirect to the URL specified in the clickTAG argument; there should be no other redirection in between.The variable name must be reflected exactly as follows: clickTAG (upper-case TAG; no space between click and TAG; not click tag, Click Tag, or any other form).The Flash banner ad should contain the following code for the clickTAG parameter:

The above code should be copied and pasted into the banner ad�s code exactly

Ozarks Federal is the company advertising on the banner i made...and that's there websiteI think this is right but i don't know how to test if it is right?

May 4, 2010Is there a standard way to send variables through a banner ad? A client wants a banner that lets the user enter his mobile number, then receives a code by sms, and then enters the code into the banner. If the code then validates, the user is sent to a page with a login form with the phone number and code filled in. It must be possible to add the phone number and code as parameters to the clickTag somehow? I found that Adform supports using ";cppar=1&" and then variable=value pairs, but is this a standard, or a special feature of Adform?

Ios :: StageWebViewBridge Loading Included Assets?
Sep 16, 2011My priority is to have a fullscreen (standard size) 1024x768 H264 video played on an ipad app compiled with flash CS5.5 AIR for iOS using the StageWebView class. This works perfectly fine. Although with no official way to communicate with the StageWebView, I can't 'remove' the video once it's done playing. Enter StageWebViewBridge which enables AS <=> JS communication.
I'm trying to get around the overall poor performance of the Video class on the iPad (1 or 2). Playing the video inside a StageWebView loading a html5 object works amazingly great (read: GPU hardware decoded h264).I do need to shut the video off after it's done playing in the StageWebView. I am packaging a .mov file encoded in H264 that plays great in webkit browsers. If I just load a webpage in the StageWebView with a tag pointing to any video file it plays perfectly fine.
Once I introduce StageWebViewBridge it changes. They want files put in a /html folder. I'm sending paths of all kinds for the players src to play and no video ever loads. The video is named 'a.mov'. I tried player.src = 'a.mov', or player.src = 'html/a.mov', or player.src = './html/a.mov' or even using the File class to get the File.applicationDirectory and resolve the file to the .nativePath. No matter what I send from AS to the JS in the StageWebView page, I cannot get it to load the video.
how to reference embedded files? I'd like to send the file to load from AS to JS and have JS reset the .src property of a html5 element. Even the File.applicationDirectory reference I make states the file 'exists', but I can never set the .src property of the element on the page. It doesn't seem to understand.

Flash :: ClickTAG Isn't Working?
Jul 15, 2009I made a banner ad and the site gave me this code to work with:

I made an invisible layer and put this code on it. The swf showed the hand, but when I clicked on the banner nothing happened, on my end or on the live site.Then I used this code:

On my end it would open a blank page. On their end they got a 404 message.Why is it not connecting to the server and opening the link? Is there something in my file that could be preventing either clickTAG from working?I exported in Flash 9. I'm using a loop code. I have many layers and masks, but all are under the invis. layer.
Banner Rotator Is Not Loading
Jun 28, 2009URL...as you can see ive uploaded everything possible to do with the banner rotator with a little help from a guy on this forum. (if your veiwing in firefox the site may look messed up) and it just stays loading for ages and doesnt eventually load.and if anyone knows the code so my site can be viewed in all screen resolutions without having to slide across at the bottom.

I'm running CS4 AS 2.0 and flash player 10 When I right click the button and add the code in actions on (release) { if (clickTAG.substr(0,5) == "http:") { getURL(clickTAG, "_blank"); } } and I try to export, I get a compiler error: Mouse Events Are Permitted Only For Button Instances.

Jul 30, 2009I ve got this flash rotate banner, which loads 3 external jpg and 3 external swf's and rotates them within time givem. The problem is that all files are loaded at the same time, so when it begin to display the other swf's are playing already in the background, then when it rotates the annimation is finished. I would like it to load the files but trigger the annimation only when it rotates and displays the current swf on screen.

Mar 19, 2011I am trying to modify a template that has a banner rotator. Instead of having a bunch of images rotate, I would like just one .swf file. So I removed all the other image tags in the XML and changed the one I want to

However, nothing displays. I assume its because the actionscript must be set up to display swf's differently. I found in the code a few refernces to this...
When the page loads, it calls "setRotator". Inside "setRotator" is the loadImage call. Here are both functions.

In the 'Air for iOS' settings I've included a file. The issue I'm having is in trying to call the file and not knowing what the path is.
I'm hoping this is a case where files added in this manner are placed in a consistent location.
Is that the case? And if so, what would the path be?

Aug 25, 2010I've designed an as3 flash banner with 3 input fields. The user fills in these fields and clicks a button. The text from these fields are then stored as variables, which needs to be included in the target url - like this:
websitestuff...?a=1&b=2&c=3
This is no problem. However, here's the issue: The banner needs to use clickTAG as it will be uploaded to Google Adwords. I can make the clickTAG part work, but have been unsuccessful in also adding the 3 variables after the url.

I want to implement user initiated sound, but I can't seem to define a certain region for the clickTAG. Also I'm using AS 2.0. I know the clickTAG won't take me to the proper location, but I uploaded it to my website to test the audio. [URL]. I tried placing an invisible movie clip over the location I want the clickTAG to work and attached the ActionScript to the mc.
When I scroll over the audio button it changes, but when I click it, instead of playing the audio it just tries to go to the URL. I also tried using a button, but that didn't work either. The website requires this specific clickTAG, which is annoying because I've used others in the past that didn't have this issue.
