I have created a simple page in Flash CS4 for my class and for some reason when I go to publish the page online all I get is an empty page colored blue (background) but neither the title or any of the graphics or images on the page show up, it is kjust a blank blue page on the web browser. View 11 RepliesI actually dotn do a ton of flash work but I have a client who would like to have the ability to post PDF documents to the web using a flash based document viewer like the one found here: [URL] they want the ability to make certain areas of the document clickable like links so they can take you to a url - and they want the ability to roll over or click on an area of the document to zoom in on it. is there some kind of canned component i coudl either get as freeware or purchase that woudl allow me to do this?

When running, the stage flickers.How can I avoid this flickering effect without using code in timeline but only in document class ?

I am new to flash and trying to make a simple flash website video intro in Flash CS5 Pro.I have a flv viedo on the stage, under an image with a trasnparent center.I have the video on the bottom layer, the overlay image on the middle layer, and the top layer is my AS layer (AS3).
The video is currently autoplaying when i export.All i want is for it to open my website in the same window as the intro played when the video ends.I dont need a "skip intro button" or anything.I just want it to play the intro when you go to my site, and then bring up the index page of my site after it plays.
I wanted to create a simple flash contact form for my flash website. I went through Lee's tutorial on how to create the contact form and PHP file to go with it. I've uploaded everything to my server and tested the form. My flash form consists of Name, Subject, Message, and Email fields. When I receive the email all that comes through is this with none of the actual message that was written IN the contact form:
Name: Subject: Message: Email: The 'From' field is also blank. I don't know if my problem is with flash, my PHP code, or with my server. Can someone take a look at this and tell me what's wrong? I can't seem to find any errors from Lee's tutorial with my code or labeling.

View 3 Repliesi'm gonna make a flash header in cs4 to be placed on the webpage of a friend. the flash header is going to contain some small images and some text, all this is easy to do, but i'm wondering about how to publish it to the web, is a swf file and the html file enough? i want to create a text document where my friend later can exchange the images and the texts for his webpage by himself, without him having to do this in a flash programme. is this possible?

I'm evaluating the differences between the purePDF and alivePDF libraries in flex, and I'm setting up some IO code so that I can save documents from either from a web based flex application.
AlivePDF gives a very convenient save() function that sends the data to a web service, which can simply bounce it back using Content-Disposition: Attatchment, but PurePDF has no such feature. How can I send the PDF data from purePDF to a webservice in a similar way?

All i need to know is how to make an interface incorporating a play button which plays a .flv file. I already have a .flv file ready and the graphic i want to use for the button, but no idea how to begin.The .flv i want to play is a short 3-4 minute clip of someone talking including audio - i dont know the best way to play it and have heard of different options including embedding or somehow linking to an external flv file.I have tried various tutorials to try to achieve a simple interface with play button - i dont need a skin, rewind, forward, etc, just a play button and for it to go away while the video is playing, and perhaps a pause/stop button in the corner of the swf, over the top of the flv file itself. But I have had no success, mainly due to errors within the actionscript.

I then used my FTP program to transfer the html document to my web space and tested it. I saw the 'Press SPACEBAR or ENTER to activate and use this control' message but, even when I clicked, the screen remained blank.

When you mouse over an area, a bit of explanatory text is revealed by animating a mask over some text. The text is left displayed until a mouseover of a different area occurs.Let's call the three mouseover targets A, B, and C.A MOUSE_OVER event listener is registered for all three targets. In the event handler for each, I'm following a pattern like this:

I'm writing in a programming language, that is then passing variables to PHP, and I then need Flash to pick those variables up and do something with their data. Is there a way to get PHP to post into flash? rather than having flash load variables from a static page? If not what would the best option be? a text file?
