I'm starting to use Flash again after many years. I created a simple movie on my company website.I have it set to play once and stop not to loop. I was asked to see if I could have it play once and stop like I have, but then have it replay when you mouse over.

View 1 RepliesFirst post - I'm a designer just picking up AS2 for the 3rd year - so I know how to get in trouble..nonetheless, I created a flash presentation for the company I work for and they want to use the demo at conferences and what not... It's a single scene with nested/nested/nested MC spewn throughout... right now everything was hodgepodged in AS3 as I was desperately trying to get familiar with it. So I suck
I can't figure out how to tell the topmost timeline (or root?) timeline to play as soon as an embedded mc finishes playing or even one layer above the nested MC - everything is on a timeline, nothing is loaded, I have no real programming skill anymore...or ever
my final result is to have my same button driven presentation run automatically so the buttons no longer need to be clicked to continue.
am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

I am new to flash and trying to make a simple flash website video intro in Flash CS5 Pro.I have a flv viedo on the stage, under an image with a trasnparent center.I have the video on the bottom layer, the overlay image on the middle layer, and the top layer is my AS layer (AS3).
The video is currently autoplaying when i export.All i want is for it to open my website in the same window as the intro played when the video ends.I dont need a "skip intro button" or anything.I just want it to play the intro when you go to my site, and then bring up the index page of my site after it plays.
how to create a simple preloader for a flv movie in AS2?and have combined Apple Motion content to some of the pages under portfolio (web, tech and more).I am using progressive download directly from a flv , so it is not working on a timeline with frames so therefor my normal scripts are not working.

View 3 RepliesFlash Movie that works using Firefox and Safari on my (iMac) desktop, but not after I upload to my website.
I started with an flv video, imported it into an fla document along with a playback skin then published it creating an html file and two swf files. I've checked the html file, and it looks fine. The flv file is only 17MB and I've uploaded all 5 files to my site on:

but all I seem to get is the control skin's "sending data" pole turning.The movie never arrives. I can get much bigger mpeg and wmv movies up on my screen very quickly.
I'm running Snow Leopard on my Mac (OX 10.6.6). I've tried using different videos but nothing seems to work.

View 5 RepliesI am oriented around html/css webdesign, and graphic design in photoshop, but know nothing of Flash, and i am attempting to learn!I have found a lot of complex tutorials but none that fit my specification. All i need to know is how to make an interface incorporating a play button which plays a .flv file. I already have a .flv file ready and the graphic i want to use for the button, but no idea how to begin.The .flv i want to play is a short 3-4 minute clip of someone talking including audio - i dont know the best way to play it and have heard of different options including embedding or somehow linking to an external flv file.I have tried various tutorials to try to achieve a simple interface with play button - i dont need a skin, rewind, forward, etc, just a play button and for it to go away while the video is playing, and perhaps a pause/stop button in the corner of the swf, over the top of the flv file itself. But I have had no success, mainly due to errors within the actionscript.

I need to make a simple Flash-based sound player for a website for a newly-released novel (http://www.bearriverbooks.com/index.html). I want the user to click on what appears to be an icon (or image), which kicks open a simple controller and starts playing a sound file (a radio interview, which I will probably export using Flash's voice compression). Nothing fancy. Just want the visitor to hear the sound and be able to apply simple controls (stop/start/rewind/volume).
I can learn ActionScript, I suppose, since I used to dream in Lingo, but my life would be a lot simpler if I could just publish a controller without having to roll my own. I'd like to think there's a magic button somewhere that can do this, but I haven't found it yet.

the Images load fine, but they go on top of everything else.
Is there a way to get them on a lower layer?

I'm trying to create a simple interactive animation for a website that consists of three rollover areas on a page. When you mouse over an area, a bit of explanatory text is revealed by animating a mask over some text. The text is left displayed until a mouseover of a different area occurs.Let's call the three mouseover targets A, B, and C.A MOUSE_OVER event listener is registered for all three targets. In the event handler for each, I'm following a pattern like this:

Question: i have to make an animated header for the web site. several seconds it's going on and is stoped with action script command stop(); but i need one elenment inside flash-header continue animating like here: [URL] a rolling logo in upper left corner of header. I wanted to create a simple flash contact form for my flash website. I went through Lee's tutorial on how to create the contact form and PHP file to go with it. I've uploaded everything to my server and tested the form. My flash form consists of Name, Subject, Message, and Email fields. When I receive the email all that comes through is this with none of the actual message that was written IN the contact form:
Name: Subject: Message: Email: The 'From' field is also blank. I don't know if my problem is with flash, my PHP code, or with my server. Can someone take a look at this and tell me what's wrong? I can't seem to find any errors from Lee's tutorial with my code or labeling.

This includes a show-reel section.I developed it using HTML and jQuery, and converted it into an AIR app using the plugin for Dreamweaver.Admittedly this my first attempt at creating an app this way, but it all went smoothly until I wanted to play the video.
My Flash video player does not work, and according to some similar posts I read this is because of a referencing issue. I found several solutions for Flex, but that does not help my specific case.HTML 5 does not seem to work in AIR 2.0 either, so I am a bit stumped.
