i want to import the content of a txt document to a flash website.
I got this code to import the text:

I have 2 flash files, one with an intro and the second that just has a document class file that plays out a snake game. How could i import that document flash file and make it play out on like frame 100 off my other flash file.

I build flash ads, so my swf files are just a small portion of the entire website. What I am wanting to do is somehow to take a screenshot of the entire webpage and import that into flash so that i can manipulate a live website in flash. My ads display on various pages so I can't simply fake the website in a flash file and overlay it on top of the site, i need to somehow pull in the content of the site.I've searched all over the internet for a way to do this and have yet to find a way, so i thought i'd ask for help.I understand that i may need some outside Javascript or server side scripts to do this,

View 11 RepliesSo for the first time I imported a video clip into Flash 8, used the wizard and even found a tutorial that basically walked me through the steps of the flash wizard.I imported a clip from my computer, progressive download from web server, tried both encodings of flash 7 and 8 medium,SteelOverAll skinning,the let flash do its thing, set my publish settings, published, tried it out and played SWF, looked fine, then uploaded the SWF, FLA, HTML and FLV on my web site but all it does is "waiting for .... .com", my website.I double checked in different browsers, Internetexplorer, Mozialla, Chrome, all having Flash Player 10 latest version and the FLV file is only 1.2MB big, yet after 10 minutes still nothing playing back online........did I overlook something here?
View 18 RepliesI have recently had a new computer, and I run my own website containing various Flash animations. I have had to reinstall all my software packages onto my new machine incl. Dreamweaver and my FTP program. I've just uploaded my website, but none of the Flash content is able to be viewed online. It works perfectly when viewed via Dreamweaver, but is just not visible on the Net, as if something is blocking it. All other Flash websites, apart from mine are working fine.
View 1 RepliesCurrently, the facebook plugin is displayed briefly before the flash starts loading then it disappears after the page is loaded. What do I need to do for the plugin to display on the webpage in order to look like it is part of the flash site?[url]...
The green background of the facebook plugin and position is just temp for testing purposes until I can get this page to display properly.
i'm gonna make a flash header in cs4 to be placed on the webpage of a friend. the flash header is going to contain some small images and some text, all this is easy to do, but i'm wondering about how to publish it to the web, is a swf file and the html file enough? i want to create a text document where my friend later can exchange the images and the texts for his webpage by himself, without him having to do this in a flash programme. is this possible?

Can someone please direct me to a good tutorial for beginners or explain the steps for creating a Flash website with an alternative html version. Do i create two sites? then use SWFobject to link them? I'm working with a purchased template that contains psd, html, css as well as the flash sources.

one thing I have noticed is that altho the above timeline code works certain objects return the "null object" error.for example if in my Pixoid.as file I have any references to the 'stage' object ex:

Code:"Error #1009 Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference."so, is there any advantage to using the import strategy vs the Document Class one? should I not worry about it and continue on my happy way with the Document Class?I first ran into this problem with Flex and had to do some kludges to get around it - defining UIContainer object etc - but now that I have found it to also exist in Flash.
The header says it all. I am trying to import a couple of classes without attaching a document class to the fla file. Is this possible? I have the class path set as appropriate (I think) in the publish settings since my fla is located inside a swf folder and my classes folder is located outside the swf folder. Its how my project is organized.

I am trying to use the CSVLib from [URL].. However; when trying to use one of the examples I get an "1180: Call to a possibly undefined method addFrameScript."This is what I did.Extracted the files, then moved all FLA, AS and CSV files in the root (where also the COM folder resides). Then added the import statement to the Applicaiton file and defined document class.

My browser shows nothing.. and no error is generated also... I am assuming that it should show the Flash movie.. I have checked it in IE 8.0, FireFox, Chrome.. none of them is working.. I have monitored the div using firebug, it is showing that div is being replaced by the Flash player code, but then why it is not being displayed in that div?
I have made a simple website in Flash which I would now like to put online. I have published the movie as an HTML file and tested it - it works offline. I then used my FTP program to transfer the html document to my web space and tested it. I saw the 'Press SPACEBAR or ENTER to activate and use this control' message but, even when I clicked, the screen remained blank.

View 0 RepliesI am currently designing a website for a fiend and would like to make the content of the website tabbed. What I mean by this is I would like the visitors to click on a tab (e.g. Contact) and the tab would slide out with the appropriate information inside. Okay so that part is easy, the problem I am having is that when one tab slides out all of the tabs on layers below the contact layer get covered up. I would still like for all of the other tabs to be visible. I would like for all of the tabs to slide out as if they were behind all of the other tabs.

so I'm having an issue with my website design and as I'm relatively new to flash I can't seem to fix it on my own. I know what I'm supposed to do, technically, but not sure how to actually implement it.Below is a picture of my timeline:What my problem is that the buttons for navigating my pages (bio, news, projects, links, etc.) are nested inside of my Navigation MC (on the Navigation layer) and so they appear in the timeline (at frame 20) before my content does (frame 70). Because of this, the buttons can't be aimed at the content because their code is run before the content even exists.
I'm guessing that what I need to do is to instantiate my content at a point in the timeline before the navigation/buttons occur... but as the content is the last part of my loading animation, I'm not sure how to do that.I read something about adding the MC's but keeping them invisible, then making them visible again at teh appropriate time, but I don't know how to do that or if it would somehow mess with my animation (everything fades in one item after the other, with the content being the last part).
Is it possible after embedding a flash exe in to PowerPoint document that we can make flash buttons tell the ppt document to go to a certain slide.
