i have to make a banner that expands over the website it sits in to reveal more content. i've never made one before so i was wondering a few things.
1) is there anything special i'd have to do to the flash to make it work?
2) it looks like the banner sits in a css layer that's over top the rest of the site, is that correct? [URL]
I have to create a banner that expands over content when moused over and then contracts on mouse out. I have managed to create the expand/contract animations and actions but I am having trouble positioning the that the flash file is in to ensure that it's flows over other elements on the page.

Circle is a movieclip that has a circle starting at 2px by 2px and expands to 100 by 100. Banner is just a movieclip, but I would like these expanding circles to act as a mask to reveal the banner. This should work, but isn't, I know I am overlooking something.
I am doing an overlay flash banner which sits on top of a flash site. Within the overlay banner I have a moveclip called 'imageHolder' which needs to call the same image thats in the flash site.
I have this code which allows me to directly control the movieclip in the flash site from within the flash banner. var img:MovieClip = takeoverContainer.getImage();
img._scaleX = 0.25; (for example) The problem here is I only want to copy the movieclip so I can see the same image in my banner as I do the Flash site, I do not want to manipulate the main flash site in anyway.
COuld anybody write me a piece of code that will duplicate/mirror the moveclip in the main flash site inside a movieclip within my flash banner so I can see the same image?
(From a creative perspective 'imageholder' is a smaller version of the image which is animated over the top of the main flash site) I am happy to pay for an hours work if somebody could help (via paypal if you like). I am in desperate need

What I want to happen is that the quiz_holder box expands sideways, then when this is finished, it expands lengthways. At the moment it's just getting to the point where it's expanded sideways and then stops?
trying to tween an animation that expands as the browser window expands. To clarify this, imagine a box that simply expands to fill the dimensions of the stage and stops there. The issue is when the stage dimensions change, how can I adjust it so that the box equally expands to those stage dimensions...
View 3 RepliesI'm having is keeping the other mc boxes a set distance away on both sides at all times while one box shrinks and another expands.I've gotten it to stay away in a drag example, but I can't get it to constantly stay away while the animation is expanding/ shrinking.On a less important note, I've tried scaling (expanding/shrinking) the boxes using actionscript via the x/yscale properties, but I noticed it scales uniformly, I think the word is. To understand what I need, transform a box, circle, whatever and then hold ALT + transform it. It expands only on that one particular point.

3).the user changes (somehow) the _alpha property (before starting revealing the image) to -let's say- 60% and reveals with the eraser the path of the map up to some point.
4).the user sets the _alpha of the cover back to 100% in order to get the picture shown in the example.
I'm looking to make a slider bar reveal movie clips on my stage as you drag it along. I've written some sloppy code that works, but isn't smooth by any means. I basically put MCs on different frames on the timeline, and I want those MCs to fade in or out relative to where the pointer is on the bar. This was a workaround, what I think I need is a boolean solution, but I'm not familiar enough with AS to write one from scratch. Here is the code I have so far. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've made similar movies for my websites using flash, and there always seems to be a lag and an image icon while the movie to loads. Here is a site where the movie loads unnoticeably: hensonarchitect com. Is there a way to use flash and have the movie load without an image icon placeholder? The flash movie that I have in mind is only 90kb, so a preloader isn't needed.

All the pictures link to various places around the site, and i cannot find anywhere on how to go about creaating something like this.

Previously for static image banners I have implemented on_click code behind or javascript to log the banner has been clicked back to a database and process the re-direction. I don't have much knowledge of flash other than I know that a flash program can handle on-click events of the program. I need to display a Username in a Flash Banner in my website. The Site is PHP and the header is made in Flash. My requirement is that, when a user Logs in, his name should be displayed in the Top of the site (in the Flash banner here) like "Welcome User". Is it possible ? In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

When I export it in flash it works, and when I preview in the dreamweaver browser it still works. I do not know what I have done wrong. Is the coding in the server wrong for the flash?

I'm making a piece of flash used for a website banner, previously i've had very little experience with action scipt as i've made various animations only having to use simple functions such as "stop()" and i've made a never ending scrolling menu also, but now i want to have an event that "onPress" a small animation is played where the mouse clicked the banner. What would be the appropriate script to link the .swf i make to the "onPress" command? or what is the right command in general assuming it is that command

Once loaded they are fine, but if browser's cache is cleared, no go. [URL] Some research suggested "Usually this happens if there are a lot of linkaged objects in the library with 'Export in first frame' option enabled. If this is the case, please disable this option. The problem is not in the quantity of the linkaged movieclips with 'Export in first frame' option enabled, the problem is the size of the objects which are linkaged."
