I have created a simple page in Flash CS4 for my class and for some reason when I go to publish the page online all I get is an empty page colored blue (background) but neither the title or any of the graphics or images on the page show up, it is kjust a blank blue page on the web browser. AlivePDF gives a very convenient save() function that sends the data to a web service, which can simply bounce it back using Content-Disposition: Attatchment, but PurePDF has no such feature. How can I send the PDF data from purePDF to a webservice in a similar way?
am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

View 3 RepliesI am currently trying to make a Flash website for my cousin's business, and his website should feature a portfolio gallery to display the work he has done (He is a contractor). I am trying to use the SlideshowPro plug-in which generates a very nice-looking Flash gallery that is about 50 times nicer than the one he is using on his website at the moment. One of the big things I like about SSP is that it offers a full-screen picture viewing mode, which would allow potential customers of his to see work he has done better than they are currently seeing.
However, whenever I publish the website to test it and make sure everything is working okay, I go to the Portfolio page and test SSP in full screen. Once I come back from full screen, the gallery remains on top of the screen on every other page of the website. The audio also does this (It can play audio in the background while looking through the galleries you set up). Since I am somewhat new to Flash, I am not sure why it is doing this. Perhaps someone else has encountered this and has a fix or workaround that I could use.

Have a look at this: [URL] and then this: [URL]. Notice how it doesn't take any time to load on first URL, but on the second URL, it takes A LOT of time for the flash swf (header) to appear. Even when you change pages, it doesn't seem to get cached.

View 7 RepliesI am looking to design and add an interactive flash part to our company's website. Since we do a lot of business planning and consulting, we have come up with a great idea, but unfortunately, none of us really know how to create it. Basically from what I have researched, I will need to incorporate animated buttons in a flash movie. I have attached a quick sketch of what the website will look like. The part I need to work with is the middle section with the boxes.
What I need to do is this:
The 5 gray boxes need to be buttons that link to their related pages. When the page loads, I want the animation to draw the first box, create the line, draw the second box, draw the next line, etc. until all the boxes and lines are drawn. This is a process map and since we do a lot of these for our work, we thought it would be nice for us to incorporate this into our website. Furthermore, it would be ideal if these boxes were links to different pages on the site as well.
So my question is this:
-What do I need to create in order to have this animation work
-Where is a good place to start looking in regards to creating something like this
-Is this even possible
I am taking a beginners Flash course and our final project is to create a movie/website in Flash. 100% Flash based. In a previous course, I made an HTML site. For this project, I am recreating that website in Flash. But what should the stage size be? That is where I am stuck. I don't know what a normal Flash site size should be to fit the screen like a normal HTML site.I already know to havethe dimentions set to 100% and 100%. But for some reason, when I use Control > Test movie, it never seems to fit right. It's either crunched together to much or spread out to far to where the header and footer are partially off the screen. I've seen posts on the web from years ago that said 950x550 is the size needed. Is that still the case? Because it just doesn't look right. With HTML the page height would adjust to the content and it would automatically scroll if needed. But Flash doesn't seem to do that. It seems that you are stuck with 1 size and you have to work around it.

I installed a Flash website template and it just has one .html file where I can insert the code. That tracks visits to the first page with no problem but if a visitor clicks on different pages of the site, it doesn't get tracked. Does anyone know how and where to add code so that each page of the Flash site can be tracked?
Note, in my template a part of each page is found in different symbols. For example, the first column of every page is located in a symbol called PAGES1 and the second column of every page is located in a symbol called PAGES2, and the third column located in PAGES3. Different layers within each symbol correspond to the different pages. So I'm at a loss of how I could get this tracking code to be able to track each page visit, since each page shares a symbol with another page.
