Professional :: Flash - Skin Will Not Show On Website?

I'm working on my first Flash project and I've hit a wall, I can not get the skin on the Flash Player to appear on the website I have read through all the Forum posts and tried all suggections to no avail. The video is playing alright on the website but no skin. I'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.
I published a viedo.swf with a skin. I tested the video.swf both - both the html doc and the swf file and the skin is in each.I uploaded to my web server the following:1. video.swf,2. skin.swf3 video.html. and4. the AC_RunActiveContent.jsAll are in the same folder.When I goto the url the the video.html is located I do not see the skin ... on line.
I have created a video, gone through the steps in flash cs3, and made the corresponding .swf and .flv files. I publish preview - html and everything works great, the video plays, the skin shows up and functions flawlessly. Then, I put the .flv, .swf, and skin.swf files on my hosting server put the html in my site code, and the skin won't show up. The video plays on its own, and the space is blank where the skin should be, just the skin is not there. I have tried most anything I can that I have found scouring message boards, etc, but none of the solutions are working for me.
I am designing a website and for the first time I will be trying to implement Flash as a means for navigating the website. I have worked with flash before, but only for animation. I am trying to make a 'Slide-Show' like flash object that flips through slides at a predetermined speed and when a slide is clicked on it takes you to a new page. Similar to the big flash object in the middle of this page: [URL] Can someone point me to a turorial or point me in the right direction for this, I tried googling it, but i dont know the proper terms for this.
I'm having an issue with the UiLoader, I think. I am using a UiLoader to show the portfolio section of my website. When I click on portfolio there is nothing there. Brought UiLoader to stage from the component panel> in the component inspector I set the source to Portfolio.swf> Test movie> it works great. In dreamweaver I draged the swf from the folder panel and placed it in a table> uploaded it to the site> go to the site, and there is no portfolio section. See the site here -> [URL]. I noticed when I made changes and uploaded to the web then went to the site I have to delete internet history files to get the swf to reload. What do I do about that? Off the top of my head I thought about changing the swf name everytime I make any changes, but I'm sure there is another way.
i have made some web pages with flash and my problem is that i want to show a thumb picture in facebook wall when i post there my website in the news tab.
i only found this to add in the index.html (?) after the head :

I just cannot get the skin controls to show in my movie [URL] as you can see the skin is there -[URL]swfit's also in with the flash movie here -[URL] I just can't get it to show up! I've tried setting the "CustomURL" for the player to[URL]
I've been trying all day to get a widget from last.fm to show in my flash website. I've saved the html code last.fm provides into an html document and thought I could just show this on my flash page but havent been able to do it.
I embedded a flash movie (swf file) into my web page (html). That works fine in my computer but when i upload the page on GoDaddy web server it doesn't show anything. I used Dreamweaver to build this page. Here is the code of the embed flash movie:
I created my flash video with a video skin I selected in CS4 and the skin file shows up in the same folder as the video but when I add the swf file to dreamweaver CS4 the controls that should show up underneath the video are not there.
I wanted to change the background color of my Panel title area and I discovered that I needed to create custom skin or skin extender to accomplish this. So I created a skin called myPanelSkin based upon the Spark.PanelSkin. My background color works fine but it will no longer show the cornerRadius defined either on the component or in a styleI then tried another approach and simply created a new skin as an exact copy of the Spark.PanelSkin. It also looses the cornerRadius.
I have one png image (lossless) turned into movieClip, when I call it on the scene, it becomes extremely pixelated, other images on stage have the same treatment and don't show pixelization.
Currently I am building flash website. But I would like to have images presented using JQuery slider Galleria [URL] Basically, the web is built of the menu on the left. when clicking one of the items from the menu i would like the Jquery Slider show in the middle (over the flash, may be box 700x500).

I can still create the video and the files and it all works in dreamweaver when I preview in iexplore. When I put the files and the page into the host server it shows the skin and no video. If my paths are wrong I do not know where to check them. I need help MY whole career is on hold until I know how to do this like clockwork/ I need step by step with creating and changing paths and uploading using cpanel or dreamweaver. getting the files made and uploaded is easy part. I have been here before and cheers to the help. I really need an in depth answer about how to do this from start to finish. I have looked at all tutorials and they all make it seem so easy but dont show anything on paths. If my video works in dreamweaver but not online live what is wrong? I am lost and on edge lost many weeks of sleep over this simple process.
am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything
SkinParts are a great way to add event handlers and logic to an object that is instantiated in the skin, away from any business code. Often, though, I find myself wanting to do the opposite, and define parts that will be used in reusable, skinnable containers in the parent mxml files which will be inserted into the skinned containers.
What's the best practice for when you want to be able to define a control and a skin which can be reused with different controls inserted from outside the skin? Edit: A better way to put this might be that I want to use something that works a little bit like a SkinnableContainer, but that isn't limited to one area where content can be placed.
I extend Button to create ImageButton, and I extend ButtonSkin to create ImageButtonSkin. But, when I define hostComponent like this:
public var hostComponent:ImageButton
I get an error that there is a conflict with hostComponent:ButtonBase inside the ButttonSkinBase. How do I extend a skin AND provide a new hostComponent for it?
I have two issues again, my first is one I have had for a while my website is blank when you first go it then it will play, I thought it needed a preloader so I put on up but it still seems to do the same thing, any suggestions?Her is my code on the first frame, their is a really detailed movieclip in the center could their be a way to load it quicker, maybe cut down on the time?[code]
I'm trying to inform people of how long ago the website was updated on the welcome screenWhen I make a revision to the swf I plug in the date in the "Update" field and then it should subtract it from the day the website is viewed.

Ok so I'm working on a site for a friend.I upload it to the JustHost server for testing and it shows up in only black, white, and neutral colors except for the one picture.How can I change this? Still under construction so criticism on the sites design layout and style is not needed
Is there anyway to add some new custom buttons on a FLVPlayback skin? i already try to put the button, everything fine, add a dispatchEvent with bubbling true,to that button to capture elsewhere in my aplications, the button appear on the skin but can´t get the Event
I dragged the FLV Playback component to the stage. Now, I need to select a skin...but where are they? How are they labeled? Do I drag directly onto the stage once I find one I like?
