Flash Skin Not Showing Up On Website

I have created a video, gone through the steps in flash cs3, and made the corresponding .swf and .flv files. I publish preview - html and everything works great, the video plays, the skin shows up and functions flawlessly. Then, I put the .flv, .swf, and skin.swf files on my hosting server put the html in my site code, and the skin won't show up. The video plays on its own, and the space is blank where the skin should be, just the skin is not there. I have tried most anything I can that I have found scouring message boards, etc, but none of the solutions are working for me.

I have encoded the Flash movies with the "ClearOverPlaySeekMute" skin and uploaded the swf to the same directory as the main video swf. The skin does not display. (in any of them)
I thought that the skin had to be in the same directory as the swf, althought I have read that some say it should be where the html file is. Since WP is PHP is is less clear where it should go. I have uploaded the file to the WP folder, to the theme folder, and to the include folder but it still does not display.[code]...

I have a couple of video clips loading to the stage via loadExternalMovieclip. The video clips were imported FLV's, given skin styles, and exported as SWF's. When I open the SWF's directly in FLash Player, all is well -- the controls appear and work fine. But when they are loaded into an empty, placeholder MovieClip, the skin does not appear![url]...

I created a class in actionscritpt that extends the spark.components.Button, as I will be loading a bunch of buttons at runtime. I have a SkinnableContainer.mxml file that the spark buttons will be loaded into.When I use the addElement() method within that mxml file like so my custom skin for my button does not show.

My band has a reverbnation profile, and I just recently started editing a flash7 site template that I purchased for the band. I happen to know enough to edit everything that is existing, but adding new content is a bit beyond my imagination and most of the tutorials I have found are all for creating new movies and use AS3 instead of AS2.
I created a new "dynamic" "classic text" text field (instance name of "rss" - variable set to "rss_output") in layer 1 of a section of my scene (movie clip) called "pages_tours".There is no other item in layer 1, frame 1 of this movie clip.In this thread: the author states that he was able to call xml data from another domain and post it on his site and this could possibly be used to snatch & display RSS data as well.I had created the proxy.php file, with code inside, saved as proxy.php (no .txt attached.)

SkinParts are a great way to add event handlers and logic to an object that is instantiated in the skin, away from any business code. Often, though, I find myself wanting to do the opposite, and define parts that will be used in reusable, skinnable containers in the parent mxml files which will be inserted into the skinned containers.
What's the best practice for when you want to be able to define a control and a skin which can be reused with different controls inserted from outside the skin? Edit: A better way to put this might be that I want to use something that works a little bit like a SkinnableContainer, but that isn't limited to one area where content can be placed.

I'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.

I extend Button to create ImageButton, and I extend ButtonSkin to create ImageButtonSkin. But, when I define hostComponent like this:

I get an error that there is a conflict with hostComponent:ButtonBase inside the ButttonSkinBase. How do I extend a skin AND provide a new hostComponent for it?

I am importing a video into Flash using the wizard.When I get to the screen that asks about the skin for the controls, I choose custom and then type the URL:..for my player.When I try to upload the SWF that is generated, the player doesn't show up.I have checked the component inspector and see that the URL is indeed saved there and if you go to the URL of the custom player SWF, it loads.

am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

I'm trying to insert a player on a Facebook Page tab with FBML with fb:swf. I have the following:[code]I can see the video, no problem. It plays inside a FLVPlayback component, which uses a skin (referred by /player/skinName.swf, I tried also the absolute path here). This player works perfectly everywhere else (even on an iframe Facebook application, where it's not inserted using the fb:swf tag, but with object, of course). However, I can't see the skin on the Page tab.

I am developing a web app using Flash Builder. A graphic designer came up with some designs for the app but I have never converted a photoshop document into a Flex skin or for that matter made a custom Flex skin by any means. Is it possible to take the photoshop work and put it into Flash or something? What exactly goes into Flex skins? If I were to contact this out, how much am I looking to spend on a 8 page app?

I have a puzzle. I have some test movie clips that areoperated (played) by pressing a thumbnail. All works ok in theresultinmg html and flash file that is produced, but when I importthe flash movi into DW, the controls disappear, but the movieplays...if you look at the link below you can see the flash moviecontrols in operation OK[URL](press thumbnail 2 to play the test movie)

I am customzining a Flash FLV Player skin and everything is basically done and working according to play.My two questions are the seek bar appears to be shorter than the movie length despite the fact that I expanded both instances of it on the FLA of the skin itself?The second question is -- what AS could I use to display the time code of the movie as "0:00" if I wanted to have that appear too?
