I am using open source flash gui framework AsWing. I want to change the default skin of JButton, JList and JComboBox with my custom images. Is it possible? Any code reference? How could I achieve this?
I want to change the skin of a radiobutton with images which are called dynamically. I know how to modify radiobutton's sking but I want to call particular images for over, selected icons. Can it be possible in Actionscript 3?
SkinParts are a great way to add event handlers and logic to an object that is instantiated in the skin, away from any business code. Often, though, I find myself wanting to do the opposite, and define parts that will be used in reusable, skinnable containers in the parent mxml files which will be inserted into the skinned containers.
What's the best practice for when you want to be able to define a control and a skin which can be reused with different controls inserted from outside the skin? Edit: A better way to put this might be that I want to use something that works a little bit like a SkinnableContainer, but that isn't limited to one area where content can be placed.
I'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.
I extend Button to create ImageButton, and I extend ButtonSkin to create ImageButtonSkin. But, when I define hostComponent like this:
public var hostComponent:ImageButton
I get an error that there is a conflict with hostComponent:ButtonBase inside the ButttonSkinBase. How do I extend a skin AND provide a new hostComponent for it?
How can we embed the over,up,down etc skins defined as sybols in a .swf file... i mean in skin file how can i specify those symbols to be used as up,over, down skins.
Does anyone know how to recompile Adobe Flex 4 framework RSLs?
I'm using the compiler directive -dump-config to get the build config file that the FlashBuilder IDE is using for compiling my application. I then pass that config file into the mxmlc compiler so I can build from the command-line. The results of the command-line build are output to a folder other than bin-debug. bin-debug is a localtrust path, and it will an application will run from there without error. A Flash application in any other path requires configuring the Flash Player to trust that path OR that the compile be done with the -use-network=false directive. I prefer latter since I'll be distributing the results to lay users for evaluation, and I don't want to request that they modify Flash Player security settings.
The build config file doesn't specify that framework RSLs be rebuilt using the -use-network false directive. FlashBuilder itself doesn't even compile framework RSLs. It merely copies RSL swfs from the framework directory into the bin-debug. Those swfs apparently were compiled by Adobe with the default -use-network=true.
[URL] Looks like MVC to me,but I'm not sure if that's the exact framework used. UPDATE Now I know it's using the Cairngorm framework, and I've downloaded all the source files, how can I generate a .swf file? UPDATE 2 How can I know the exact version of Cairngorm used?
I am trying to use parsley framework in my flex application. Messaging System is one of the best feature that I see while using parsley, But I had a doubt, Does using Parsley framework in your application means that
a good framework for developing Flash AS3 applications? I have worked on two Flash frameworks till date: GAIA and PureMVC. While GAIA is more focused on Website development and I find PureMVC a bit complex as I was not able to find anywhere the best approach to use the framework efficiently.
I'm looking to create a Flash Map with multiple zoom levels. Ideally what I'd like is to be able to click onto a 'state' area, and then have the map zoom down to a sub-area (which can then either have a link or zoom down to yet another sub-area). Ideally I would like to be able to define sub-areas recursively (e.g. state area, region area, town area etc.) on an infinite level, but 2 levels should suffice. I found several solutions on Flash Den, however they can only handle 1 level. Does anyone know of any Flex/Flash libraries or frameworks which are capable of doing this? Alternately, does anyone know if this would be possible with Google Maps/KML? I already have vector outlines of the areas I would like to use in Flash.
I am trying to figure out how I can implement the new Text Layout Framework 2.0 in Flash CS5. There are some Flex and FlashBuilder4 examples, but nothing relating to Flash CS5. How do I update my Flash CS5 to support TLF2.
I am particularly interested in creating new List/Bullets features so some example code for Flash would be great.
I'm looking for a framework enabling me to programmatically add moving/scaling shapes and text areas over a flash video.
I'll have an XML file with text, starting times of animations, ending times of animations, positions, scales, etc. And want to use this file to animate stuff into place.
The idea is that I'll have a video with moving shapes. Multi-language content has to be put into the shapes and scale along with them.
I want to a framework to pass objects between Java and AS3 using sockets. It should be something with good performance (not XML, JSON). I have looked into AMF but all of the tutorials are very complex and not about what I need. I have used java to java serialization but I can't find any tutorial about Java to AS3.
I'm a total noob to Flash, and I'm learning it because I want to make a website design that looks like this.
That's coming from a separate external .fla file not inside my Gaia project. I currently have a Gaia 3.2.6/FP10/AS3 project with Timeline animation that I just made up today. The problem is that when I copy and paste those graphic symbols (not the background), into the 1st frame of my home.swf of my Gaia project, the preloader freezes at 50% on the home page.
When I remove the forms from my seperate external .fla file, then copy and paste them into the 1st frame of my Gaia project, the preloader freezes at 100%.When I draw a square onto the first frame of home.swf, the page loads normally.
Is there an open source Ruby framework that allows working with multimedia (video, sound, etc) similar to Flash, including Display Object hierarchy, that is not targeted for video games?
I'm looking for something between Ruby/Processing with a more object oriented API.
How can I set custom path to prealod.swf in gaia framework? I need this because the index.html file generated by gaia and all the swfs are located in different directories. I have set full path to all the swf files but preload.swf because I can't find the appropriate parameter anywhere. Now I get 404 error message for preload.swf in consolo.
I've recently tried FlashPunk for game development and it seems to be easy enough to comprehend, however, when me and a friend tested simple apps coded in it on the iPhone, it seems to be acquiring an unnecessarily large amount of memory plus dropping framerates.
Are there any other choices for game development with ActionScript 3 with frameworks that are optimized for mobile gaming?
I need to build a website with a virtual 3D world. I found a few products that can do it but I want so advise on which ones are leading the pack with the brightest futures. So far TheoWorlds and OpenSpace show some promise.
We have been working on an opensource composite framework for developing flash games. We have been testing design concepts and we want to share our experience with the flash community. The goal: Develop a well designed framework that is simple to use.
So far: 1. GameObjects are autonomous. You can attach components such as RenderComponents or ScriptComponents to drive its behavior. 2. The SFS examples have been broken down into different components that can later be extended for your needs. 3. ExtensionMessages are routed to a global event handle that can be handled by the game objects.
The networking layer still needs a lot of work. The next thing on my list is to change the login handler component so that it can be extended with facebook, user/pass or etc components. I am also working on a Dependency Injection system that handles autowiring. Now that I have a new build system in I will be able to reintroduce that. You can have a look here: [URL]
I am using OSMF-Strobe Player for videos and I am trying to put my company's name below the video player as in the picture. how do I go about doing the same ? I dont have much knowledge about actionscript but with some online tutorials I can always manage.
I'm trying to use Greensock LoaderMax on a Starling Framework project, but since Starling have a lots of its own class, how I can make it work with other classes that is using the native class?
Is there any opensourse, free set of components for creating Flex mxml graphs? like aviary Peacock style ones with at least Drag, drop, and connect generators so each graph element could have or something like that. Framework should be opensource (like GPL, LGPL etc) BTW: I found one wary bacic made by Erno Aapa with Degrafa but I would really love to see something much more Flex 4 - mxml oriented and frienfdly.
