Flash :: Disable Audio In Browser Control .Net
Jan 28, 2012
Is there a way to disable Flash Audio while i'm using My Winform application which has a WebBrowser Control (gecko(firefox) and WebBrowser control IE)? I would block only flash audio inside the webpage(where i navigate) not all the sound of my application.

Anyone know of a skinnable audio player (or something similar to Windows Vista audio control in task bar) that i can embed in my website?
A player that can be customized to use a 'speaker' icon instead of a 'play' icon. When the speaker is clicked, the volume can be adjusted or turned off. The option of being able to autoplay and set the default volume level.

Does anyone know of an existing flash (swf) based audio control that is available (free or commercial) that provides a timeline waveform visualization with the ability to select and play a portion of the timeline?For example, the flash control used by this website... http:[url]....It does exactly what I'm wanting to do. I need this capability to allow a user to mark a section of an audio file which can then be synchronized with other visual elements on a web page using javascript.
It is important that the user be able to see the wave form of the audio because they can save time by visually guessing where certain sounds start and end in a file. The user can then select this block of the audio and preview the sound and tweak the selection if need be.

I'm assuming this is flatly impossible, but has anyone ever heard of or seen a way to implement dual-audio output from within a browser, a la DJ software (user's hardware allowing)? Anything in Flash? Google searches don't seem to be giving me any love on this...

I have swfs for every letter of the alphabet containing a story and a song. And one swf as a loader for each letter as requested from a menu. These are then published into html.
Every file is working as normal individually and when loaded in the loader swf.
But when viewed in a browser the audio karaoke for the letter I is out of synch. and only the letter I. this happens locally and online.
The I.swf file individually and when opened in loader swf work fine. Its only happening when viewed with a browser (IE and Firefox)
all the audio are mp3 loaded from external files. But Ie also tried placing the audio in the swf timeline but the same problem occurred.
A co-worker thought it might be the file size or bit-rate of the mp3 but thats not the case because all the audio files are the same compression and bitrate The file size of the audio or the swf are not the largest in the collection either. So this rules out swf/mp3 file size and or mp3 settings.[FONT="] Im really stumped by this, because every other letter works fine, and as far as I can see they are all the same settings.

I'm currently working on a project - an online education system, and I need to make it possible for studs to introduce themselves in a 30 sec audioclip. I need to implement it with Adobe Flash. The problem is that I have no idea how the Flash + Red5 duo work together. There aren't that many helpful recourses online, at least for me since I'm a beginner at Flash. (I do mostly PHP stuff.)
1) When you connect to the server, how do you make it record audio from flash client? 2) After 30 secs, how do you stop recording and save file in a specific folder on a server?

I building a C# application with a WebBrowser control in it and and I am trying to figure out a way to get the flash content within the web page to not display as it is sucking up a ton of my CPU and memory. I've been trying to remove the <object> tag within the page (there's only one) by getting it via browser.Document.GetElementsByTagName("object") and setting its outerHtml to an empty string. It returns one element (confirmed by the Count property) but accessing the first element ([0]) gives an index out of range error. I've tried doing it via a foreach loop but nothing happens at all and there are no errors. If I try to retrieve <div> elements instead of <object> elements, the foreach loop runs. Am I doing something wrong here, is there a bug, or is there a better way to remove the flash content?
[Code]...
EDIT: I just figured out that while the DocumentCompleted event is being called, it is being called before JavaScript injects the flash content onto the page. I've tried a few "sleeping"-like methods but they all stop the web page from processing too. Any way to wait for more time (5 seconds or so) while the webpage continues to render?

The old way to allow audio to be played/streamed in the browser was a flash button, such as that seen on [URL]. What's the new iPhone-friendly way to give the ability to click on a simple button to listen to an audio file in the browser? If the answer is HTML5, is the such a button built and available? I don't need an MP3 player with steaming and such, only a button.

My client has a website that plays YouTube videos. Once a video is finished playing, it will automatically play the next one. This is done by using the YouTube API and swfobject.After some research, I was told that Safari on iPhone does not support flash. This make the current swfobject code not working on the iPhone browser.As workaround, when the user clicked on an embedded player, iPhone will launch the YouTube app.

I have MP3 files with finely-tuned compression from an audio app. If I use them in my Flash movie, and disable audio compression in "Publish Settings"... will Flash definitely not touch the files and use whatever MP3 compression settings the files have? Or... will flash convert them into raw audio?

I have a Flash application that sends a getURL request for an image file every 60 seconds.
This works fine in all browsers except IE9 with Internet Option set to automatically check for newer versions of stored pages. I setup Charles proxy (http://xk72.com) to watch the requests being sent by my flash app and confirmed that the request is being surpressed by IE9 when the setting is set to Auto, but works fine if I change the setting to check everytime I visit the webpage. This, however, is not an option! I need this to work in all browsers regardless of how the options are set.
Even if I do a page refresh (F5), the ASP page does not reload. The only way to get it to reload is close the browser and restart it.
I have tried adding content headers to disable caching but it does not appear to work.
For Example, here is my request headers:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date Sun, 02 Oct 2011 23:58:31 GMT
Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0
X-Powered-By ASP.NET
Expires Tue, 09 Nov 2010 14:59:39 GMT
Cache-control no-cache
max-age 0
Content-Length 9691
Content-Type text/html
Set-Cookie ASPSESSIONIDACQBSACA=ECJPCLHADMFBDLCBHLJFPBPH; path=/
Cache-control private
I have read the Microsoft blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2010/07/14/caching-improvements-in-internet-explorer-9.aspx) which states that if I add the content headers, the browser should respect my request, but it obviously does not.
I don't think this is a Flash issue since the html page that holds the Flash object will not even reload.

something I seem to be seeing a lot more these days are error messages from flash.. often on quite major websites - and now that I am using AS3 they are also starting to appear in mine! (still at the testing phase though)
Often the site continues to run fine in spite of the error, but its a real bad look to end users, clients etc. Is there any way just to turn error reporting off in the flash player or in a published swf?
I know it would be better to fix the errors but some of them are really dumb. Like the one that is plaguing me at the moment - I have some objects that check the "relatedObject" property on rollout. Sometimes they are quite near the edge of the stage.. if you click and then roll right out of the browser window it says:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at nxx_fla::main_1/clip_rollout()

On each of these pages are words or buttons that you can click on to direct you to a URL. I used the simple code (Actionscript 1.0, Macromedia Flash MX) below to achieve this:
PHP Code:
on(release){
getURL("www.link.com","_blank");
}

Im creating a microsite which loads external SWFs with embedded FLVs in their timeline (each SWF has its own preloader). To control their audio (mute/unmute buttun), I have encoded & imported the FLVs & their audio tracks seperately in the SWFs. I'm controlling the audio tracks by attached them from library through the sound object.
Issue:
The FLV & audio run synced when I play them together in timeline. But they go off-sync when I play the audio though AS, rest assured that FLV & SWF have the same fps. I have even tried encoding the FLV at both the source video fps & SWF fps.[code]...

I'm creating a flash presentation that contains some externally loaded video's (flv), voiceovers and a background music. I would like to be able to control all these audio streams with one control. So basically I'd like to change the volume of the entire movie. Is this possible?
I know there's something like the Sound object with a setVolume() method, but that's only to control one stream as far as I know.
