Having a very strange issue with a few creative banners. On some computers when you type in an input box for an email field instead of the @ symbol you get the " symbol. It is almost as though the keyboard has the wrong language set. This isn't the case though, they are all se to UK. I'm thinking it could be an issue with embedded fonts / charsets. Has anyone else ever had a similar issue?
View 2 RepliesBasically I've created a simple flash form which is linked to a PHP processor to email to a client. I have both simple text input fields, and the ComboBox and DateSelector components from the flash CS3 menu.
Inputs from the text fields work fine and appear in the emailed form, I have set the var fields on these. However the ComboBox and DateSelector inputs don't appear, and i cant figure out how to set the var fields on these. How do you get the text/whatever is chosen from these components to actually appear in the emailed php form!?

I have a file setup that will email name, email, and message when the user inputs it in the appropriate input box. Is there a way to email dynamic text within that same email. Im using php to send the email to myself. if you need more info let me know
View 2 RepliesI have a bug to fix in work where the UK Pound symbol, £, is allowed in the domain name. I checked the EmailValidator source and can see that it is not a disallowed symbol, whereas things like the dollar sign are:

As you can see DISALLOWED_DOMAIN_CHARS string does not include the £ sign. Was thinking of monkey patching (basically copying the entire class, editing it, and adding it to my src - for those not in the know), but we use RSL's, so that would be problematic.
i did a flash form for the first time.I have a multi line input text, it works fine when u type in the content.But when i hit sent, and I checked my email, the whole message is in one single line. All my other fields work fine cos they are single line input text.All my Variables are sent to my asp and then to my email.I guess my asp file did not capture the vbCrlf and convert it to <br>, am i right?

However, I would like them to recieve an autoresponder message when they input an email. Although the(my) email to which user's email is sent to has an autoresponder active, my server administrator explained that when an email is recieved, an autoresponder is sent to the form/site and not the user's email address. He said I would require a code to put in my form to facilitate sending the autoresponder to the user who inputs his email in my site.

I created a funky mail form and i can't seem to send the info from the input boxes in my flash file... to the PHP script, stuff it into an email, and then send back a success or error response. I have the form created, and I'll post the .fla file (I allow a laugh at my elementary flash movie. If the user doesn't enter anything, it will ask them to in order to send the email.how I can do this or adapt it to the kirupa tutorial code?

1) It doesn't send. A blank email form comes up that the user has to fill out - doesn't work with their email client.
2) How can I get it to validate?

I have a movieclip symbol (referred herein as "background" with scripts on various keyframes inside of that symbol. I need to hide or show another symbol (referred herein as "object") sharing a stage with "background".
To put it another way, I need "object" to be hidden when "background" reaches a certain internal keyframe. However, as "object" and "background" are both children of the same stage, how do I do this?

Currently i have one input box named input_1 with a variable attached to it named "choc_1".
Also, i have a dynamic text box named dynamic_1 with variable "choc_1".
When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.
auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.
The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

I'm trying to input a dynamic text field into many dynamic movies. I use a for loop to successfully create 18 movies. I can't seem to get the text to be input dynamically however. The dynamic text field in the dynamic movies is named eventText. This code in the for loop successfully creates 18 movies:

Passing Text Variabes to a form PHP script for emailing.If a user makes a number of selections from visual indicators on frame 1 of a Flash 8 file and textual descriptions of those selections are then actionscripted into dynamic text boxes as text values in a form on frame 2, can the text values of the dynamic text boxes be given variable names that can be sent to and processed by a server side PHP script as regular input type text box variables would be processed?
Example:
User selects 3 images on frame 1 via a mouse on(release) event.
the actionscript being:

On the form frame (frame 2) would be a movie clip (form_mc with instance name form) with the normal Name, Email, Message input type text boxes along with dynamic text boxes dynamicTextBox1, 2 and 3.On the form Submit button the actionscript would be:
