Jun 11, 2009I use the HTTPService() method to post a variable value to a SQL Server database. The suggestion came from someone with some past experience in Flash but nothing specifically related to posting variables to a database.
This person sent me the following code snippet that he found in a Flex forum (and changed a bit), with a suggestion that maybe it will work with a bit of massaging.

Jun 8, 2011I am creating an air app that uses HTTPService to connect to a .net api and get a user for example. It works great when I publish the move for "Flash Player 10" as a .swf, however, when I publish it as .air it seems like there is no internet connection at all. I am assuming it's internet securities (maybe firewall). I turned off my firewall and everything that might be blocking the internet access, but nothing seems to work.

Jul 9, 2010Reactivating a class - I've coded myself into a corner and there are sharks there! I took a look around but haven't seen anything about this for AS3, I've built a class that does all the regular for my standard button animation, nothing too complicated to a point. But I'm sort of in a corner as far as reactivating the button after I turn it off. I would think that I could reactivate it on click of another button, but since this is all stated in a class. How to reactivate all but the "this."

Flex :: Upgradation From Builder 3 Standard To Flex Builder3 Professional?
Oct 24, 2009I had purshased one licenses for each, flex builder 3 standard as well as flex builder professional. First, I installed flex builder 3 standard and entered the license key, it worked. As it was standard charting library has 'flex trial' water mark. Then I tried to uninstall flex builder 3 standard and install flex builder 3 professional again on 'same machine'. But here I faced the real problem, as soon as I run the exe, the license key automatically gets copied from windows registry file and it behaves as standard edition. Then I tried to use 'manage flex license' option and use 'upgrade to professional' option. Now as my key is for 'Flex 3 professional' and not 'upgrade to Flex 3 professional' it does not accept as valid key. I have few softwares which restrict me from reformatting my system

I've have to catch the asyncToken from send() and attach a new property so I know what it's supposed to do in the handler.URL...You can right-click and view source.Has anyone else run into an issue where listeners aren't removed? You see, when you have just one tag of something, it creates an object which is not an array. But when finds more than one, it puts it on an array structure.[code]I could check the format of resObj.specifictag (to check if it is has an array) and then duplicate the code (for each case). But -even if it's calling a function- I don't think it is an elegant solution.Well, I hope someone has a good idea on this matter. (I know from experience that SO has much more C++ experts than flex, but well...)The perfect thing would be that HTTPrequest handled every tag in a consistent way (using always arrays... though I'm guessing that that would also have its drawbacks).
